Salvation is but a single step in God's plan to glorify the Son. Salvation is not the end, but the means to the end.

He would prefer obedience.i dont know anything else but to brag on what the Lord has done .
are you 5100 OF the time. so your saying personal testimony is no availHe would prefer obedience.
How does that affect what God prefers?are you 5100 OF the time. so your saying personal testimony is no avail
It's called the good news for a reason, D.I’m just sad when I read how believers are so fixed on their salvation or worst justification. Me me what I got me me me.
No, I rejoice that I know Him, and the fellowship of his sufferings. It's called the good news for a reason, D.
I don't correct people for rejoicing in the free gift of God. That must never wane in a person. I correct people for not moving on to maturity, as Paul does in his letters.
No where that I'm aware of do we see God telling us to forget about the free gift of redemption. But I do see in scripture what happens to the person who does...
2 Peter 1:8-9
8For if you possess these qualities and continue to grow in them, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9But whoever lacks these traits is nearsighted to the point of blindness, having forgotten that he has been cleansed from his past sins.
Never forget. Never stop rejoicing in the free gift that you have received from God.
go ye into all the world. the great commissionHow does that affect what God prefers?
I think what you mean is some are still sucking the milk knowledge of the gospel and have not moved on to the meat of the word of righteousness. Some have moved way beyond salvation. Many don’t know there is a beyond.
And you should. But that does not mean you must stop rejoicing in and thanking God for the free gift. As if somehow you can't do both, and shouldn't do both? No, I rejoice that I know Him, and the fellowship of his sufferings.
Help me out. I can't remember off the top of my head where the story of Mary and Martha is in the gospels. :winkHe would prefer obedience.
20Nevertheless, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”No, I rejoice that I know Him, and the fellowship of his sufferings.
You don't do righteous things in order to become righteous. Justification/salvation/eternal life is a free gift. For example, D. says you have to forgive to be forgiven as if you receive forgiveness in return for forgiving others. No, forgiveness of others is not what justifies a person. Faith in God's forgiveness does that ALL BY ITSELF apart any righteous work performed. What is the point of this conversation? Both seem to be arguing the same point, just different emphasis.
