Thanks! I seems Classik will have to share the cookies I bake for him with you!

bth_newiphonepics136_zpsc235ff94.jpg

wow! Thanks. But I shoyld take this alone;) I see a perfect weekend

We'd be in trouble without Classik. Gonna pass on the cookies I have a diet I am not sticking too :) I don't want to come across like I am criticizing you guys but I think retention is an issue. I actually pm'd someone please be careful you don't burn yourself out on here because you are a good contributor. I think the core members really set the tone and we could use a few more. Not saying I am one but I've been on a ton the last few weeks. I can only tease classik so many times before he snaps on me ;)

:D The comedian;)

Nah, Classik won't snap .... he's too much of a sweetheart to do something as blatant as that.

Besides.........he wouldn't want all of us to show up at his home for a visit of a month or so !

:biglol

Why not! Just that pitched tents in arena. (And the walls back home do electrocute);)

The comedian? That could be too much pressure....umm knock knock? :dunno

Some times folks come through, cause they are looking for a place to land, sorta like they got to find the shoe that fits.... I tried other forums before I hit here.... Got booted out of a couple ... This place allows for freedom of opinion within the realms of Christianity. We moderators have different Christian backgrounds I believe that is very helpful .... By the way Gordon, Numbers has to share those fresh warm out of the oven cookies.....

For the life of me I couldn't see you ever getting booted from a forum.. Wow. :gah

Hey, I nominate Classik for Moderator :shades

By the way Classik, you're pretty observant! I've seen a lot of people come and go over the years for the exact reason you've stated. However, I think you forgot about the group that comes in here with an agenda and a heavy hand and they don't last long enough before Reba smacks them with a broom :lol

Oh, Thisnumbersdisconnected, that "other" site. The owner used to be a member on this site :crazy Got mad because we were a bunch of "bible thumpers" and vowed to start his own site. Well, he did just that. If I could describe him, he would be very close to Grazer ideologically except he would pout when he didn't get his way. Basically he took his ball and left. :grumpy

However, I think you forgot about t...ugh before Reba smacks them with a broom :lolI did remember this group....but decided not to include it. I remeber the strangest forumer (he lasted for about 3hrs here) who said all Christians are demon-possessed. He was swept away - his thread was. After that he was gone. He basically came to preach his false message of Christianspossessdemonism:shocked

I really wonder why it took the Mods over 2hrs to get that thread locked. It was an awful thread

Jeff, nice pic.

What an amazingly sad statement about Christian hypocrisy. I'm fairly new here and have already seen a few similar threads, and it makes me wonder if I should really even admit to being a Christian when this is the public image we present. I'll admit, I've already started to think about responding to some threads, only to decide not to get involved because of attitudes.

It's not just this forum by any means, In general, we Christians talk about love and hold ourselves above other relatively "unsavory" people, yet our actions speak the opposite! I am a member of a forum that is almost exclusively hard core bikers, Hells Angels types. How many on this forum would shudder if one of them were to walk through the door of one of our churches next Sunday morning? Yet there behavior is far more polite and reasonable than ours as Christians. This is shameful! No wonder people aren't flocking into the church as they did in Acts!

Not sure if I am a "core member" or not (don't care either way) but I am here to stay. I usually hang out in Apologetics and talk about context and perspective based Scripture, but sometimes I visit "less aggressive" threads within this site. Most of my posts are designed to be thought provoking.

I frequent this forum and the one at www.religiousforums.com. That one is all about world wide religions and you better have some thick skin if you go there. You may very well be debating with a Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, Bahai, Shinto, and Pagan all on the same thread. That site is not "competition" for this one. It is for a vastly different reason.

1Peter 4:7 but the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.
1Peter 4:8 and above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.
1Peter 4:9 Use hospitality one to another without grudging.
1Peter 4:10 as every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.
1Peter 4:11 If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
“Ding! Ding! Round One”. This is what you hear when two fighters get into the ring to face off in a battle of who is the superior one. Unfortunately this is what is happening between Gods children as Christians are squaring off as trying to be the superior one in the word of God, but yet have no knowledge of truth, 2Timothy 3:7. Love and humbleness is now being replaced with anger and hostility towards each other as many love to argue and debate the word of God according to what they believe and choose to condemn those who are not in agreement with them.

We as a Christian have all been given the same gifts from God and those gifts are to be used to lift up and edify one another. The greatest gift of all is the gift of love that we should be displaying as a Christian to help draw all others unto Christ by allowing the love of Christ shine through us. Many people say they have accepted Christ, but by the fruits of their mouth God will judge their heart and condemn those who have only mirrored the words of repentance as they condemn themselves by what comes out of their mouths, Matthew 7:21.

Galatians 5:22 but the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
Galatians 5:23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
Galatians 5:24 and they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
Galatians 5:25 If we live in the Spirit let us also walk in the Spirit.

for his glory:

Great verses, reminding us of the importance of moderation and temperance, and wholesome Godly fear.

Blessings.

I agree, it's quite sad. Of course we discipline and ban some non-Christians for promoting other beliefs or attacking Christianity, but in truth most of the bad behaviour the staff deal with is by Christians.

I almost quit here a few weeks ago after being here several years. In my case it's because I don't really feel I'm of the same clique, and sometimes maybe just bored. keep in mind that people come and people go, and the ones I chat with here today are not the same as back in say, 2005. I think I am talking now with a completely new group of people.

I've seen another Christian forum completely change before my eyes as those like me (who were in a majority) left because of strife and backstabbing, and then other types took over like one doesn't even know the place any longer. To use a silly(but accurate) example, it's almost like a KKK site become all NAACP members --- the change was that radical.

If I don't think or feel what I am saying is causing anything to click and that I feel like I'm making more fellowship progress teaching my cats calculus, then I would be inclined to leave.

I may still leave here one day, I'm not sure yet.

If I start pickin on ya will hang around :)

one of my favorite things about this site is we are all different.... this place is not cookie cutter....
