WORD POWER.

Hebrews 1:1 "Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets,
1:2 but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world.
1:3 He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power."

Even as I start this thread, I know this subject of Christ Jesus' Word Power will take a few days....I wish to highlight 4 words, Word Of His Power. It may be helpful for each of you, my friends, to think about these 4 words. "Word of His Power". Hebrews 1:1-3 was part of my devotion on Thursday morning and the wonderful Holy Spirit really woke me up like He does when we say to ourselves, "wow, I haven't considered this before.

The word of His power. The Syriac version renders it, "by the power of his word", and that is what the Spirit of Elohim (God) is pointing out to me.

I need another day to consider these things.

My mind went to creation as to the great picture of Jesus' Word in action. Lets consider John 1 for a proof text....
John 1:1 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
1:2 He was in the beginning with God.
1:3 All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made." We know, at this point, that the word "Word" is understood in two basic ways. One way is to communicate, words, and another the Person, Jesus, Logos.

The interesting thing about this word "word" is the word "power", both are energized.

The power of His word has all His power and authority that either speaks life to us or death as all of God's promises are yea and amen. Deuteronomy Chapters 27 and 28 come to mind.

I've sometimes thought about the power of God's word. He only had to speak and it was created as in 'Let there be light ...'

I think a sense of the power inherent in Him and His Word is seen in the creation account.
He doesn't speak a command like,"Light! I command you to spring forth!".
To me, the simple, "Let there be light" with the resultant bursting of light is more revealing of the power He and His Word has. "Let there be....."

Yeah, almost a nonchalant kind of way. Just another day at the office so-to-speak. His power is so great!

As I was mulling over what you wrote, this came to my mind....
John 11:43 "And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth.
11:44 And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go."
Some time ago, I heard someone say....

It's a good thing that Jesus said "Lazarus" come forth, if He hadn't said Lazarus' name, all dead people would have come forth! Or, all dead Lazarus' would have been raised. Just a thought.:couch

Truth is God, is Word (expression) of Truth.
The Power is undeniable, complete, IS, doubtless, impossible to change, solid, eternity, real, genuine, creative, trustworthy, reliable, available, loving, . . . I am running out of metaphors.
Truth is the ONLY word/meaning/reality.

As in Psalm 46:10 "Be still, and know that I am God; . . ."
Be still, and know that I am Truth.
Know that I am Truth, and you will be stilled (powerless). All power is in the Truth/God/Word.
Know that I am Truth, and you will know your own truth. Speechless to prove differently. Totally exposed through and through. No place to go or hide. Stilled, like a full stop .

It really is that profoundly simple.
