Adam and Eve are an illustration of Christ (Adam) and the Church (Eve)--Ephesians 5:31-32 NASB. Obviously, Christ is not the one deceived--or able to be deceived--in the relationship of Christ and the Church. If God had allowed Adam to be the one deceived that would have kind of ruined the analogy. But instead, the account was ordained by God so that Eve was the one deceived and Adam knowingly takes his bride's sin upon himself.Someone has argued that the devil could not succeed in convincing Adam to eat the forbidden tree. Noticing how malleable woman was he went to her and succeeded.
And woman also has remained the man's weakness

In all my years of complaining about how women are in marital relationships, I realized that I'm all that in my relationship with Christ. Kind of takes the steam out of my rant against women in marriage.
1 Cor 15:45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam (Jesus) was made a quickening spirit.I don't know if I can really buy that....what you are saying is that sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned. Your illustration of Christ (Adam)...doesn't seem to work real well.

Misogyny is hatred for women. It has nothing to do with this.Misogyny much?
As to this, it is pure speculation. Disregard it. We will never know why Eve had wandered off from Adam's side.Someone has argued that the devil could not succeed in convincing Adam to eat the forbidden tree.

I was being facetious.
This is the lounge....it's allowed here.
I like this post. I feel the same way, about the ranting part in particular. The only thing that is out of place, is that in the episode in the garden, God said that Adam should not have listened to the woman. So perhaps we should be temperate, knowing there's also a right time for a man to rant. I Love that Christ loves me enough to do that too.Adam and Eve are an illustration of Christ (Adam) and the Church (Eve)--Ephesians 5:31-32 NASB. There's definitely some Truth to that. Some Men are definitely gullible to women. But it is only speculation that men would not have been gullible to Satan. 2 Corinthians 11:3.Someone has argued that the devil could not succeed in convincing Adam to eat the forbidden tree. Noticing how malleable woman was he went to her and succeeded.

1 Cor 15:45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam (Jesus) was made a quickening spirit.
The best explanation I’ve heard, and though I'm probably not quoting it correctly was that so Adam could be one with the woman God gave him was to take on sin. To become one with us Jesus took on sin though he never sinned. In sin Adam & Eve (Mankind) died & through death Jesus made us alive.
What I'm saying is that Adam, when he saw Eve sinned, gave up his own life for her. It was a type and shadow of how Christ would do that for his bride.
"25Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her" (Ephesians 5:25 NASB)
Then you of all people should be able to understand how Adam didn't cut and run when he saw Eve had eaten of the forbidden fruit and condemned herself to die but instead followed her into her sin. That's how Christ loves his bride. He loves us so much that instead of leaving us in the sin we committed he joined us in the death we condemned ourselves to, taking the sin we committed onto himself. It is the greatest love story ever told. She will never leave my side, she is my strength in a sense, she is my soul mate. I would never leave her and I would die for her.
Yes, just as Christ joined his bride in the condemnation of her sin.Eve ate some and gave some to Adam which means he gave in with Eve and ate it also.
Oh don't get me wrong. Adam is just a type and shadow. He was certainly not guiltless. His motives and intentions are not known. We only know that his actions foreshadowed a marriage where we do know the motives and intentions of the Husband and why he took on the sin of his bride. The only thing that is out of place, is that in the episode in the garden, God said that Adam should not have listened to the woman.
Yes it is true that we cannot be certain of Adams motives or intentions. But that would define what Adam was guilty of. If Adam loved Eve greater than life it's self, he may have eaten to be with Eve in death, rather than be alive and alone. That's a more beautiful form of guilt, than a blatant disregard for God's commands.Oh don't get me wrong. Adam is just a type and shadow. He was certainly not guiltless.
