Honestly?? It sucks. Which is why I'm glad that I graduated ten years ago.

im glad i dont have kids. schools started that 0 tolerance stuff when I was still in there, and...wow. so rough. they don't teach you to think or do anything useful, and its all about social programming....

in HS, this one rich kid would come in so stoned he almost fell out of his seat. the teachers laughed. i stared out a window too long, got yelled at. i kinda suspect my "severe mental illness" got started in the K-12 public school system, and I got off easy compared to some kids I remember. its what I call the "school to psych ward pipeline." blah. :-(

It had some of the problems today.grades werent as low ,the scale was higher. They did push students through then, they also had the start of political correctness then .

It was better then but It had its problems,in short

the school system is what a person wants to make of it.. i live in a rual area our school system is ok..provided you have the right name play sports . you can be what ever you want you just have to chose the right field . around here its being red neck 4 wheel drive belt buckles bigger than....... hunting fishing .you just have to be determined. living in the big city more opportunity .big jungle lots fights

This is my freshman year of high school. I've been doing K-12 since second grade and It's been a pretty horrible experience for more reasons than one but i've gotten through it so far.

I completely agree, I've been ready to be done for years. I still have 4 more years to go and it feels like an eternity. I've learned the same stuff year after year and the only thing that's really changed is math.

take my advice get everything you can from h.s go to college or if you make good grades join the air force get a good education... above all stay out of a factory ..take it from a 1980 graduate ..who was smarter than the teachers

I've been doing K-12 since 2nd grade which is basically public school at home. You may think there is no difference but there is.

Sounds good on paper but it is not the case. The world's education system only forms one into the image of the world.

Self education is where it's at.

If I may,there's no job ,military especially yoi ain't a number. The air force,when they downsize simply gets rid of you.the army oth,tries to fill it's gaps with experienced men.I'm a retired guard,I have 5 mos because of two such changes.no one isn't replaceable at work .I was told that two weeks ago,heard in the military .

So ,you didn't go to learn from an aprentinceship or voc tec?

You simply would suggest to learn how to be doctor ,I find the sick,and practice without guidance.or the same with a lineman .

Not one field of expertise suggest you dont learn as much as you can wherever. School house ,or in medicine ,experimental studying to find a cure.done by two doctors locally,cures have come from them or better ways.

Even In automotive work that's the case.electric cars ain't gonna fix themselves .i.will learn if I must .

You must work for the Board of Education as much as you defend them, lol. If a person studied the Word of God like a college course and applied himself to drawing closer to God instead of going to college...He would be more capable and wise than if he had an education.

The school system is.....ok. it could be worse and it adds a complicated mess to change anything. I definately recommend using the resources while you are there and self educate on top of what you get there. Once you are out it comes down to what you want to specialize in. The time of careers is done for awhile. Just find something you enjoy in life and do it.
