Should An Adult Date A Minor?

It's just a question that's been on my mind since I saw this Dr. Phil clip. Obviously he's talking about the alcohol being a problem, but if it doesn't include sexual contact I really don't think that it would be illegal. Definitely unwise because it could lead to something else, but I don't think it would wind you up behind bars for it. Also, I do think that there is a difference between a passionate kiss and a friendly kiss on the cheek. :yes

My wife is 17 years younger than me. Where I'm in my 50's she is in her 30's. When we met she was in her late 20's. Not exactly cradle robbing. But I am her parent's ages.
So...my view is somewhat jaded.

But I am against kids being so focused on "hooking up" with a romantic partner at such a young age when they have no skills to parent or support a family yet.
All this being done by kids not even over 21 yet.

Mostly why I asked this is I've thought that some minors looked attractive before. (The lifeguards at our pool) I've commented on some YouTube videos that some celeb teens looked cute and I have said online that are some teens that I love as a younger brother or sister and sended them virtual hugs or kisses on the cheek.


Now obviously we aren't dating since I'm engaged and I'm not sexually attracted to any of them, but I was just afraid that somebody might get supicious anyways and my butt might be thrown in jail. Then again as usual I'm probably blowing it way out of proportion and worrying for nothing again. Just like I did when I commented on a minor's YouTube video when I thought that they were really pretty.

There are actually many factors to take into consideration especially at such a young age when one is barely old enough to understand the difference between lust or love as they haven't really even begun to live life yet. Love can blind one from looking at the circumstances further down the road as far as being fully commited to all the functions of a marriage.

If you can't tell someone they look cute or a young girl they look pretty it's a sad world. You don't need to keep on telling then though. If you said you lived them as a younger brother/sister there is no harm done. I can't imagine myself telling someone on YouTube that I love them.

Yeah I only told them that I thought they were pretty once and I actually I said that I thought this younger American Idol singer was really cute in the comment section. He's eighteen though so that wouldn't apply. He is mostly what turned me into a cougar. :tongue I never really understood though if an older man thinks a younger woman is attractive they don't call it anything but if it's an older woman they're called a cougar. 2

Yes men who have sex with under aged girls should face prison and that includes teenagers over 16 with girls under 16.
