If the bible isn't a book where every verse has a symbolic meaning to it, then why do many of the traditional bible teachings have some flaws?

Id have to prove that the bible says reincarnation is real.

Yep....that would be a starting point of cleaning the Agean stables.

I'm aware of a few of the verses, that when twisted to say what they do not say, would be used for such.
Meaning that you are very much behaving in a fashion of that derogatorily named group.

Id have to prove that the bible says reincarnation is real. But that wouldn't be a practical task for me to take on, given a schedule I am using.

But I will ask you this much:

If God is/has always been capable of manipulating all concepts while enforcing justice perfectly, then why would he not make reincarnation real?

Since when was God a manipulator of 'all concepts' to enforce justice perfectly? Was He an imperfect God in manipulating Joseph Stalin to commit a perfect justice of genocide in the USSR ?

You won't understand how God must have always been enforcing justice perfectly until you realize that humans/3 dimensional beings aren't the only beings suffering for everything to have always been balanced/to maintain the balance.

Sometimes what most would consider to be cruelty is a necessary act for justice to be enforced.

Very simply because through out the Bible it is taught that we live, die and face God.
Reincarnation is not a teaching found in scripture. Those who say it is have to twist and distort verses to make them say what they want.

The big picture is that Jesus is the Way, the Life and the Truth. In rejecting Jesus and his truth for a believe in reincarnation and karma you have walked away from life.

Sorry for the length, but full context is necessary.

The Hebrew term for reincarnation is gilgul meaning cycle or wheel. Souls are seen to cycle through lives or incarnations, being attached to different human bodies.

The Greek term hapax legomenon is a transliteration of Greek being said once or something said once that occurs only once within a context either in a written record of an entire language, in the works of an author or in a single text.

These teachings are found in Asian religions like Hinduism, Jainism, Buddhism and Sikhism and also in Hasidic Judaism where many Jews even today believe in reincarnation. The Talmud nor the Bible makes any reference to reincarnation, but actually speak against it, Leviticus 20:6; Colossians 2:8. The Kabbalah (Jewish mysticism) teaches a belief in gilgul/hapax legomenon being the transmigration of the souls as the belief is universal in Hasidic Judaism, which regards the Kabbalah as sacred and authoritative. These Jews fell into idolatry worshiping other gods as they did not heed the warning God gave to Solomon found in 1 Kings 9:1-9.

Reincarnation is a philosophical concept of Greek philosophers like Pythagoras, Socrates and Plato and still followed by Hasidic Judaism and the New Age movement that reject the true God of all creation and His Son Christ Jesus. The belief in reincarnation is an ancient phenomenon that is unbiblical and according to scripture is rejected as a false teaching.

(Ref: John 3:12; Romans 8:5-8; Hebrews 9:27; Matthew 25:46; John 5:28, 29; Rev 20:11-15; Genesis 2:7; Genesis 3:19; Ecclesiastes 9:5; 12:7; Matthew 10:28; Psalms 104:29; Daniel 12:2; James 2:26)

There is no logic or a carnal understanding when it comes to the Spiritual things of God as reasoning has to line up with what is already written in the Bible. Either one accepts the Bible as being the word of God in all its parts, or you reject the whole as one can not pick and choose that of what they want to believe in part.

John 3:12 If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?

Romans 8:5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. 6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. 8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

There is no foundation for the concept of reincarnation found in what has already been written in scripture. In Luke 23:43 Jesus told the criminal that was being crucified beside Him"today you will be with me in paradise", meaning that the criminal believed that this was Christ as He hung on the cross and asked Him to remember him when Jesus comes into His Kingdom.

Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
Matthew 25:46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

John 5:28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, 29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

Revelation 20:11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. 13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. 14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

The belief in reincarnation is an ancient phenomenon that is unbiblical and according to scripture is rejected as a false teaching.

Genesis 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

Here dust + breath/spirit from God = a living soul. When the flesh dies physically it returns back to the dust of the ground and our spirit is preserved with God for final judgment.

Genesis 3:19 in the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.

Ecclesiastics 12:7 then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.

We return to the dust of the ground when this physical body dies and our breath/spirit returns to God as we wait for Gods final judgment.

Matthew 10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

Our spirit can never die and is preserved until Gods final judgment on the last day when Christ returns, John 6:40.

Ruach, the Hebrew word for spirit means "breath" or "wind" as well as "spirit".

Ecc 9:5 for the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten.

Psalms 104:29 Thou hidest thy face, they are troubled: thou takest away their breath, they die, and return to their dust.

Daniel 12:2 and many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

James 2:26 for as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

This body/flesh dies and deteriorates as it turns back to dust while in the ground. The breath/spirit goes back to God who gave it, Ecclesiastics 12:7. The soul which makes up the conscious part of ones being is that of thought, action and emotion. The spiritual nature of man regarded as immortal and separable from the body/flesh at death and susceptible to happiness or misery in a future state.

It's already apparent that you do not believe the written word of God for what God has already given to the prophets and Apostles as they have written their witness as they testify of what God has already spoken. Hinduism an Buddhism is not a religion of the true God of all creation and have nothing to do with the Bible and know not of the indwelling Holy Spirit that teaches us all things of truth.

FHG,

Reincarnation is ‘the belief that the soul, upon death of the body, comes back to earth in another body or form’ (Dictionary.com 2019. s.v. reincarnation). It also is called rebirth and transmigration, referring to human being’s soul being reborn in another body. Hinduism and Buddhism believe in reincarnation.

The primary reason for reincarnation is ‘that a person may be reborn successively into one of five classes of living beings (god or human or animal or hungry ghost or denizen of Hell) depending on the person’s own actions’ (vocabulary.com n.d. s.v. reincarnation). This is designed to cleanse in the spiritual realm of sins not forgiven in the first life.

A few orthodox Jews have engaged in, (a) invention of the doctrine, or (b) eisegesis of a couple OT texts to try to support OT reincarnation.

Based on the Greek hapax, there is no biblical validity in promotion of reincarnation as, ‘Everyone must die once. Then they are judged’ (Heb 9:27 ERV). Hapax in this verse refers to the numeral one or once.

Therefore, any kind of Christian or Jewish promotion of reincarnation is a hoax (from my article, Is reincarnation taught in the Bible?)

Youve failed to see the bigger pictures, & you've chosen instead to remain more of a follower than an independent thinker

What is the biblical 'bigger picture'? Does it include reincarnation and karma that you, as 'an independent thinker', have introduced into your theology?

Like I've stated many times in this thread, the bible is a book where every verse has a symbolic meaning, & only the KJV has every correct translation...

To realize this as true you must either meet Christ Jesus yourself & recognize him, or test out certain verses to see if there true meaning would confirm the whole "theology" about the bible I presented in this thread.

Also if you view a older comment of mine in this thread, I already explained why reincarnation must be true just seeing as God wouldn't be perfect if he didn't make reincarnation exist.

Prove those were false statements

TiP,

I accept that the Bible contains some word pictures and symbols to describe the Word of God:
For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the basic principles of God’s revelation. You need milk, not solid food. Now everyone who lives on milk is inexperienced with the message about righteousness, because he is an infant. But solid food is for the mature--for those whose senses have been trained to distinguish between good and evil. (Hebrews 5:12-14 HCSB)
Also, 'for the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart' (Heb 4:12 NIV).

As a general principle when interpreting Scripture, we take the plain (literal) meaning of the text and that includes interpreting figures of speech as such and symbols as symbols. We read the Bible like we read any other literature, including the Brisbane Courier-Mail. My goal is to interpret according to the intent of the authors and the literary style used. I don't read the imagery of poetry (e.g. the Psalms) in the same way I read the historical narratives (e.g. 1 & 2 Kings). We tend to get bare facts from historical narratives.

From where do I glean these biblical principles?

Deuteronomy 31:9–13 (ESV)
2 Kings 22:8–20
Luke 12:54–56
Acts 8:26–40

There is nothing in the KJV that says it is the 'only ... correct translation'. Not a word! Why would that be?

Now it's over to you to demonstrate that every word of the Bible is symbolic. Please show us from Scripture.

I'll respond to your assertion, 'reincarnation must be true', in another post in this thread.

TiP,

You stated: 'Reincarnation must be true ... God wouldn't be perfect if he didn't make reincarnation exist'.

From the Bible, I'll attempt to show that this teaching is false.

Do you know NT Greek uses hapax in Heb 9:27, ‘it is appointed for people to die hapax‘. What is the meaning of hapax? Does it mean to die multiple times, 10 times, twice or once?

Let’s check the leading Greek lexicon, Bauer, Arndt & Gingrich (BAG 1957:89) which gives the meaning of hapax:

clip_image006 ‘As an actual numerical concept, ‘I was stoned once’ (2 Cor 11:25); in Heb 9:26 we have the Greek phrase phanerow hapax, speaking of Jesus ‘has appeared once’ – numerically.

clip_image008 BAG includes this example under the ‘actual numerical concept of once’ = once only. Why did Jesus appear this one time? In Heb 9:26, it states: ‘to do away with sin by the sacrifice of himself’. He came only once, hapax, to do that. How often was Jesus sacrificed for sin? The same number of times a person dies (in v. 27) – only once.

clip_image010
BAG again places hapax as an ‘actual numerical concept of once’ in Heb 9:28: ‘prospherw hapax eis anapherw hamartia‘ = offered once to bear sins.

So the once in Heb 9:27 means one time only, numerically. There is no second time death and rebirth over and over. Reincarnation is not taught in Scripture.

So Jesus paid the price for sin only once, just as human beings die only once. A. T. Robertson, the leading Greek scholar of the 20th century, stated: ‘Once for all to die, as once for all to live here. No reincarnation here’ (Word Pictures in the New Testament, vol 5, p. 404).

In Job 16:22 (NLT), Job spoke of his death: ‘For soon I must go down that road from which I will never return’. There is no hint of reincarnation here. What could be clearer than Job 7:9-10 (NLT)?
Just as a cloud dissipates and vanishes,
those who die will not come back.
They are gone forever from their home—
never to be seen again.
Here are a couple articles that oppose transmigration of the soul according to the Bible:

Why do you insist on refusing to do anything but traditional bible theology to guide your thinking about what the bible could say? It's circular reasoning that you've been displaying this entire thread. Just test out some verses & keep an open mind to the theology I presented. What's so hard about that? Are you afraid that the theology I presented could be untrue & if you tested it out youd have wasted a lot of time?

My friend, any time spent towards uncovering biblical truth is nothing short of time well spent. I have no clue why you'd believe otherwise. So you being biased towards the theology I presented is completely ignorant to that.
