The laws were a big step forward towards adequately addressing various forms of domestic violence. Seems that those cases would be difficult to prosecute in most situations though.

Are you referring to the same legal mindset that gave us the 'legalization' of gay marriage?

Even the OP question -- can a man rape his wife -- is so far from anything Christian, I wonder why there is even a thread about it on a Christian forum.
The person asking may have a reason we are unaware of.
But all our answers seem to agree with each other.

How do you get that from what Christ empowered said? Why is your mind stuck on that topic?
LOL, I'll wait for Christ_empowered to ask me that question. Maybe he'll be nicer in the way he asks it? Besides, it was a question to him, not you.

I do think gay unions should be legally recognized in the secular realm. Tax benefits and such. Not by churches but it is happening anyway.

Laws against marital rape simply recognize the freedom of both parties even in marriage. Actually with gay marriage now legally recognized it’s probably more important than ever given the high rate of violence within many same sex relationships.

and again this is the secular realm. I am a Christian who deals with same sex stuff but I know what God forbids and I know why based on past experiences and such observations and such. I just don’t see how the government can condone rape in marriage or deny same sex couples the rights of the marriage contract.

Apparently you don't understand what being in a forum involves. If you want to have private discussions -- with those that agree with you -- then private messaging is the place.

I understand forums enough to know forum police when I read them.
I'm under no obligation to respond or not respond to a person,
Forum police notwithstanding.

Not when you write "Besides, it was a question to him, not you." I don't think you do understand.

So do you disagree with my statement, "I'm under no obligation to respond or not respond to a person"?
Maybe you didn't understand my point.

You mean the US court system? The issue of freedom and non-discrimination by gender was decided over time by the courts.
True, and like I say it is a Bozo court system, that has strayed far away from the Judeo-Christian values that it, itself, was founded on.
But that's ok, because one Day they will be facing a Higher Court.

This has absolutely nothing to do with rape. The dictionary definition of rape is "the crime, typically committed by a man, of forcing another person to have sexual intercourse with the offender against their will.

Do you honestly believe that God promotes violent crime or are you just trying to be funny?

Wow this thread is taking off. From what I read Wondering isn't talking about rape. It's the authority of the husband over the Wife's body (and vice versa). Meaning she can't cut him off. The grey area is, is the man going to be a punk about it? If's she's mad at him so says no...most normal men would work through her problem first or wait until she got over being angry. Or maybe she feels under the weather and is sick? You don't pin her down and take it, you love your Wife, as scripture says to do. It's time to care for her now. If the man lacks behavioral compassion and Love to his Wife, then I suspect that man may be none of the Lord's, cuz that aint what He teaches, that man can be rude about it. That's just crazy.
