Plain verses are made to conform with doctrine instead of the other way around.

Take Eph 2,8
Clear as day.
We are saved by Grace
Through faith

What comes first?
We are saved through faith.
So faith must come first.
Then we're saved.
By God's grace.

MacArthur is needed to explain Eph 2,8??
He says salvation must come first and then faith. Where are the Bareans?!

Sins of mankind? But He didn't die for the sins of mankind.
He died for the sins of His Church.
And the Church is NOT all mankind.

Untrue. The French Revolution and Russian Revolution are the same…anti-God, destroyed christian churches, millions were murdered…The result was tyranny and fewer rights and less freedom.

The other member is allowed his belief without being considered stupid. If your post was in a normal forum, you'd be permanently banned by now.

And only God knows If MacArthur is a godly man.

Iconoclast is on my ignore so I’m unaware of what he said, but I think it’s important to discern who is godly and who isn’t, if they are leading or teaching others. It’s hard to see that a man can teach such false doctrine and himself be godly.

But what is his godliness or lack thereof to me? He will give an answer to God for all believers he led astray.

I take godly to mean behavior that is pleasing to God.

A person could be seemingly very godly in his behavior but be lost because it's all fake.

My hu band and I liked J Swaggart back in the 80s or 90s. What a shock!

That's what I meant.

It’s a good thing to ponder. It’s surely possible to be a hypocrite (actor) and do the same things those who please God do so they look the same. Wheat and tares look alike.

But actually pleasing God is different. Would have to think about that one.

1tim5.17-19 is still in the Bible incase you had not noticed.
