how? That throws James 2.10 on its head.
Some are really confused.I am on reddit right now debating with someone who claims we can be sinless by living in Christ 24/7 and immense bodily sacrifice They say they have sin but do not sin and I am a little confused by their logic here how does one have sin in them but does not sin because they live in Christ 24/7?
Inm fact who among us lives in Christ 24/7?
Yes that is a good point and one I made in response to them as well as the issue Paul had with his own struggle with sin Romans 7:14-25. In this passage, he expresses the tension between his desire to do good and his tendency to do what he knows is wrong. He laments, "For I do not understand my own actions. For I do not do what I want, but I do the very thing I hate".Some are really confused.
If we don't sin why did John make provision for sins?
See 1 John chapters 1 and 2...
Didn't forget you.
Still away.
So you get to Cherry pick which laws you get to keep and don't have to keep? Nothing of the law is sinful (Romans 7:7).You show a lack of understanding of the Law. Or of Acts 15.
Some of those 613 were sinful to many. If our Lord tried to perform a sacrifice, He would have committed a sin. He was not a Levite.
Acts 15 (and 21) limits what is needed in Law observance for Gentile believers. Chapter 21 shows that exemption doesn't apply to Jewish believers.
Last time that I checked, your proclaimed status as a Jew has no merit in the kingdom of God, (Galatians 3:28).Some of us are.
Oh my gosh Rookie.Last time that I checked, your proclaimed status as a Jew has no merit in the kingdom of God, (Galatians 3:28).
Correct, and gratefully God let us in on the little secret of who's in Christ Jesus, which is in the verse I gave you.Oh my gosh Rookie.
None of us is God!
Only God knows who is in His Kingdom.
OKCorrect, and gratefully God let us in on the little secret of who's in Christ Jesus, which is in the verse I gave you.
You're status as Jew or Gentile carries zero weight on whether you're in Christ or not. Its faith alone in Christ alone. Being in Christ is all that matters, so making a huge discussion over that earthly status is fruitless imo.
It should be, shouldn't it? The way of salvation is the same for everyone...OK
But that sounds like ONLY Christians can make heaven.
Is this your belief?
"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me". (John 14: 6)OK
But that sounds like ONLY Christians can make heaven.
Is this your belief?
God will judge each person on the knowledge they have,,,not on what they didn't know.It should be, shouldn't it? The way of salvation is the same for everyone...
Not very clear."Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me". (John 14: 6)
Sounds very clear to me.
Wondering, do you really believe that non-Christians can go to heaven???OK
But that sounds like ONLY Christians can make heaven.
Is this your belief?
Yes.Wondering, do you really believe that non-Christians can go to heaven???
And did you forget about "Every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess that Jesus is Lord?"
No. There is no contradiction at all. "All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out". (John 6:37) John 14:6 is declaring that Jesus is the ONLY WAY to Heaven. John 6:37 is declaring that the one who comes to JESUS (and becomes a born-again Christian) He will in no way cast off or cast out. They have become His Children. Romans 1:19-22 is not teaching that there are many ways to God. It is teaching that everyone in their heart KNOWS there is a God.Not very clear.
Please explain Romans 1:19-22 I think.
Sorry I can't post it right now.
And if you like John 14:6, you'll also have to explain John 6:37
Do they contradict each other?
The people born of the promise go to heaven. Those who put their faith in God before Christ came and those who put their Faith in Him now.OK
But that sounds like ONLY Christians can make heaven.
Is this your belief?
I have debated several who have claimed to be "sinless." Every one of them had a faulty definition of sin.I am on reddit right now debating with someone who claims we can be sinless by living in Christ 24/7 and immense bodily sacrifice They say they have sin but do not sin and I am a little confused by their logic here how does one have sin in them but does not sin because they live in Christ 24/7?
Inm fact who among us lives in Christ 24/7?
It depends on your definition of "Christian."But that sounds like ONLY Christians can make heaven.
