I consider that is a way too general generalisation. Have you taken a random survey of the posters on CFnet to determine how many are 1 point TULIP people?

Those who actually study beyond reading a commentary will likely not agree theologically with the church they attend. It's a natural and normal progression.

Doesn't mean that the people I sit next to are not my friends/family. We are all so wrapped up in each other's lives it's ridiculous. But often they have no clue as to what they believe or why they believe what little they do know.

That's normal theologies around the world. Found this attitude in every country I've visited. The hard core learned person is rare...they really don't make a church for people like us in every city in the world.

But just because I don't agree with the pastor on all theological positions doesn't mean that we don't agree on things like Love, altruistic endeavors, and encouragement of each other. Because we do agree with each other on these things. And we work diligently together on these things on a regular basis.

And that's what jasonc , wondering , and I have stumbled upon. We don't have to focus on the ways we are different and destroy each other...we can instead focus on the ways we are the same and do the difficult thing of building a community. It's easy to destroy, it's a lot more difficult to build.
Well, I was looking for some sound doctrine after someone on YouTube called me a false teacher that teaches a false gospel because all I said is that we’re getting closer to the end times. Then this person said because of that, that I’m showing the fruit of a child of Satan, all from that one sentence.

You have run into a person who uses emotional bluff to try to intimidate you. The person did that with lingo such as 'false teacher', 'false gospel', you're 'showing the fruit of a child of Satan'.

Run away as quickly as possible from that intimidation. It will not edify and will cause you to ruminate on what the person said.

The person on YouTube has violated the fundamentals of Phil 4:8 (NIV): 'Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable – if anything is excellent or praiseworthy – think about such things'.

Neither Calvinism nor Armenian theologies are correct.
That's what Jesus said and I believe him.

I've posted what Jesus said so many times about this topic and get ignored every time...and people don't understand the answer because they ask all the wrong questions.

But whatever...

It's Arminian and not Armenia. An Armenian is a person from the country of Armenia.

please try to not get caught up in all the "I am Arminian" or "I am Calvinist", "I am Orthodox, Protestant, Catholic, Pentecostal" etc, because all it is doing is exactly what St Paul was warning against in 1 Corinthians 3:3-7 (factionism, warring of flesh through the workings of division), but rather scripture teaches that we are all baptised into one spirit, and if we remain in the unity of spirit, we will come to agree on things, one question at a time. It is sometimes easier said than done when people are being contentious and possessive, but you need to try not to lock horns with them because it is only pointless and harmful (John 6:63 LEB).

Hi Michelina, I just want to say a couple of things: 1, that Jesus is going to judge our salvation on the last day, it's not a thing we can earn by getting the right beliefs. It all comes down to the way we have lived, and He has described at the end of Matthew 25 that He separates the sheep from the goats, and the sheep are blessed because they did love to Him and His brethren. The goats are cursed because they refused to do love to Him and His brethren.

They openly state it,and by here since I live in a small county ,its the facts,only one church i know of doesn't teach eternal security.here is the county of indian river .

What a weak god that would be.

Weird, a God that is all knowing, all holy, all just, all mercy, all powerfull is discribed as weak.

But then people who want to manipulate who ever is in charge will use language like that in the belief that a weak God will let its self be manipulated.

Fortunetly that is not the God found in the Bible.

i see a lot of qnat starining people are taking a ant hill and making it into a mountain.. over the years nothing has changed one denomination belief accuses the other of being wrong. what does the Bible truly say .doctrines of man They worship me in vain, teaching as doctrines human commands." personally i dont care what church name tag you carry . i been in church with all kinds . IT'S ABOUT HIM ..NOT US :thumbsup :cross

I don't argue much on these threads.
It come to not good end and we are all brothers in Christ.
But Calvinism, and churches that teach it, are changing the
character of God.

How could anyone worship a God that CHOOSES to send some
to hell for eternity through NO FAULT OF THEIR OWN?

THIS is a different gospel.
THIS is not the God of the bible I read.

This is NOT the same as discussing a different denomination.
I love every Christian,,,,but the doctrine taught in reformed churches
is not the same doctrine other denominations teach.

God is only glorified if he is in control.


You stated that God is only glorified IF HE IS IN CONTROL.

To which I replied:

Now, above, you're telling ME that I said God is weak.
Do you understand satire?
YOU are making God weak by stating that He is ONLY GLORIFIED by being
IN CONTROL.

God is in control in any case...
nothing happens that God does not PERMIT to happen.
This is different than God CAUSING something to happen.
It's imperative to know this difference.

BUT

If God NEEDS TO BE IN CONTROL to be GLORIFIED....
Then I repeat:

HE IS A WEAK GOD INDEED.

It a glorious and sovereign and almighty and good God
that IS NOT AFRAID of giving mankind free will.

nope its not no 2 denoms teach the same doctrine . they still believe jesus way truth life . no other name given among men by which we must be saved. its the process of being saved that is different . i have a friend on facebook that lives in scotland. i listened to her pastor via facebook. it was a good message

we have pentecostals that believes you must speak in tongues to be saved . you have baptist that believes to join there church even though your saved. you have to be baptized into that Church . we have groups that believe they are the true n.t church. i dont agree with reformed theology.
but then again i dont agree the baptism of the. Holy spirit is the evidence of speaking in tongues . but i still consider them bros and sisters in Christ. i really dont agree with the catholic church . i dont pray to mary or use rosary beads. but if they come through Christ they can be saved and be catholic

I agree totally with you.
I just feel that the reformed church is teaching a different gospel.
Jesus taught that anyone could be saved...
they don't believe this.

Any other belief could be "debated" with scripture.
But God is the same: yesterday, today and tomorrow.
He has not changed and is willing to accept anyone that desires
to be saved.

Otherwise, I agree.
Tongues is real but not as wide-spread as some would want to believe.
Baptism is valid for ANY church...otherwise there is more than one BODY!
Catholics have some good teaching but have gone off-course on some doctrine.

We do not have a perfect church,,,that's for sure.
This is why we need to depend on Jesus and not on our church.....
which we do also need BTW.

I think I explained this well in post no. 134.

It rather disturbs me to hear that God has to "be in control" and condemn some to hell so that He could be "glorified".

God IS GLORIFIED
NO MATTER WHAT!!
