Bible Study 71 Days in Isaiah

Day 19 A prophecy of the "Day of the Lord". This Chapter pictures the destruction of Babylon. A few days ago, while studying through Revelation, Chapter 18, pictures the destruction of Babylon as well. I like how a Chapter in the OT and NT agree. That is a good proof of the reliability of Scripture.
 
Day 20 Here we see the oppression of God's people by foreign nations will be reversed....This chapter might picture God's people reigning with Christ over nations in the millennium....The fallen King of Babylon is contrasted with the fall of Satan....God's people will once again rejoice in the deliverance of the Almighty God.

One great lesson that we can take from our study so far is, pride will destroy many of the works of man. When God is involved in the construction of anything worthwhile, man tends to grab the glory of it to himself....It must really grieve God when He is aware of how much believers become spiritual thief's of His creations.
 
Good to be back... had to play catch up :) A couple NT verses which i see as a continuation of the Isaiah of the last week...

Mat_21:5 Tell ye the daughter of Sion, Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of an ass.

Heb_12:22 But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,

Rom_14:17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

Day 21 Sad to see that pride has brought down another City. Moab succumbs to the result of pride. The destruction of all their necessities of life are gone....Oh, if we could only look for pride in our own lives and save our future from events that God would rather we not enter.
 
The grace and mercy shows up time and time again In love a throne will be established; in faithfulness a man will sit on it-- one from the house of David-- one who in judging seeks justice and speeds the cause of righteousness.

It points directly to how human pride can at times swell to a level where one no longer sees or appreciates the amazing grace & mercy bestowed upon us.
 
Day 22 The oracles, or prophesy's continue now with Damascus. As with the demise of any nation who forgets the God of all nations, Damascus will fall....Our Nation is getting closer every day to collapse if, as a Nation it doesn't repent and has revival.

2Ch_7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
Seems His grace shows in every page...
 
Day 23 Egypt's oracle includes destruction from within, like the others, pride in their idols....I like v. 11&12 if only a relative of someone from the past during the plagues, they could tell what was happening....The continued striking & healing typifies all Nations where we do God's will and then our own.....Egypt turns into a nudist colony, demonstrating the absence of anything left of use in Egypt. A naked land & people.

If only America would do that. Our Land would be healed!
 
Rev_11:8 And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.

Oh Reba, I'm afraid there is....I so fear what our great Country will face if a great revival doesn't happen. I fought for this Country in 1962, 1963. I think when you fight for this Country, you have a deep commitment to see it free unto God!

Egypt always like that. that is why the torah was given, Egypt had gay unions, polygamy, and also women for inheritance and men are for fun ideology. nothing new under the sun.

the plagues of god weren't random judgement god knocking down each major Egyptian god to show the world then that He was the true god. remember Egypt was really strong and mighty at this time and the world knew it.
