Angels Do Not Have Sex

JLB The agree or disagree.. true or false.... yes,,, no..... posts are just about meaningless they do not invite discussion ...to give you the idea here is a one for you...

The Word says
Gen 7:21 And all flesh died that moved upon the earth, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of beast, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth, and every man:
Gen 7:22 All in whose nostrils was the breath of life, of all that was in the dry land, died.
Gen 7:23 And every living substance was destroyed which was upon the face of the ground, both man, and cattle, and the creeping things, and the fowl of the heaven; and they were destroyed from the earth: and Noah only remained alive, and they that were with him in the ark.
Gen 7:24 And the waters prevailed upon the earth an hundred and fifty days

True or false Agree or disagree. With God's Word....

Agreed. Including the things that flew in the heaven, fowl.

Nobody is off topic here.
In fact, I believe it was Bill who brought up that the giants only existed for the 120 years that it took to build the Ark.
What I am showing is that the Nephilim were on the earth after the flood and where those people called the Nephilim and Raphaim came from. Who were they according to scripture!
Only the people who believe they were hybreds might avoid answering my questions.

imo
KJV
Isa 14:9 Hell from beneath is moved for thee to meet thee at thy coming: it stirreth up the dead for thee, even all the chief ones of the earth; it hath raised up from their thrones all the kings of the nations.
YLT
Isa 14:9 Sheol beneath hath been troubled at thee, To meet thy coming in, It is waking up for thee Rephaim, All chiefs ones of earth, It hath raised up from their thrones All kings of nations.

satan is being spoken of but literally Rephaim is speaking of the chiefs of the earth, the kings, that follow him.

Neighbor, Reba has correctly defined the central issue here as I have tried over and over to explain to several of you. the issue lies in the text you underlined and the cute this is you also underlined when. The Noadic flood has not been brought into the discussion with verses 1 thru 4.

What should help to clarify this issue is the fact that in modern textual concepts, verses 1 thru 4 are one paragraph, Verse 5 begins the second paragraph of this chapter and a new, if you will excuse my East Texan, rabbit trail pertaining to this issue. The popular but incorrect interpretation requires a closer than is proper marriage of these two, separate but related paragraphs.

1 And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them, 2 That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose . 3 And the LORD said , My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh : yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years. 4 There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown. 5 And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. 6 And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart. 7 And the LORD said , I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them. 8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD. 9 These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God. 10 And Noah begat three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

The context is clear here.

The days of Noah.

The time of the flood.

If your argument is somehow built upon the idea that Genesis 6 is not about Noah and the days of preparation for the flood, then you have no argument.

Could you be a little more clear about the point you are trying to make.

You are mixing together the discussion of the Rephaim and Nephilim.

Genesis 6 is about the nephilim and how they were produced, are the fact that they were produced after the flood.

The Nephilim were produced from the union of the sons of God and the daughters of men.

The sons of God were not killed in the flood, for they continued producing Nephilim afterwards.

9 This is the genealogy of Noah. Noah was a just man, perfect in his generations. Noah walked with God. 10 And Noah begot three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

Which one of Noah's sons does the bible say were Nephilim?

JLB

Not so Edward, I stand on scripture. Once again read Genesis 10 and follow it through to who the Bible says the Nephilim were. Look at post # 287 as well.
The Nephilim were mighty men after the flood and they were the descendents of Ham thorough his son and grandson. They were the Canaanite tribes, which included the Amorites. King Og was an Amorite king. Goliath was a Philistine.

imo
So unless one is suggesting that someone on the Ark carried the genetics of fallen angels, the whole angel theory falls apart.
Can you interpret the scriptures in post # 287? They seem pretty clear to me. :shrug

Deborah, I'm going to take a closer look at those scriptures and gather my thoughts about it a bit before I reply to your post. This stuff can get pretty confusing real quick, and I want to be as accurate as possible, lest I be called to task for it, lol.
but I'm on it, sister. Bless you and yours...:)

I just feel the need to say this one more time. The "Faithful" do not have need of it because they/we are indwelt of and led by the Holy Spirit/Holy Ghost/Spirit of God, but those of the Church Membership that are trying to figure all of this out, God and all of the angels He created for His service are Spirit Beings. Ask Hank at equip.org if you disbelieve me but Spirit Beings, not being God, have no extension in the Time/Space Continuum our Creator/Master created for humans to live, study and to grow in.

The argument that Abraham and Lot saw, touched and interacted with angels in the bodies of men is without forethought. These angels were in bodies, all two of them, that God had once again created for them to use to serve the Judgment of God on Sodom and Gomorrah. Still studying the Word of God this statement might be proven wrong but to the best of my knowledge, there is not another recorded instance of Angels being seen, touched, fed, talked to and bringing destruction on the earth. These angels were and are not the perverts we find common in mankind whose thoughts are continually evil. Holy Angels are just that and most of the Fallen Angels, I believe, are restrained in Hell, awaiting the Great White Judgment and their arrival at their final point of destination, the Abyss, the Lake of Fire.

Because I use stress emphases I am accused, often, of having a sharp tongue but that is not the case. I stress with sentence structure and all other highlighting forms because it is intelligent to emphasize and it is heartless to sit by and watch people dig themselves in the Abyss.

May God give the understanding of His Word! However, He has told us that to the Lost Man it will remain a mystery.

That's not what I said. I did not say that any of Noah's sons were Nephilim.

Please address the scriptures that I posted. Please give me your interpretation. One directly mentions Nephilim in the Hebrew text. Who does it say they were?

Take your time. Thanks for listening and considering what I am presenting.
Blessings to you and yours, as well. :)

I'm asking that we please expand our search of the scriptures for a deeper understanding in the scriptures only.
Please do not respond, comment, or get flustered when others make personal jabs or this thread will be closed like so many others have. Let's try to finish the discussion. Then we can at least understand the other position/s through what they see in scripture.
Thank you.

The sons of God were not killed in the flood. The premise is that they were angelic beings and could fly, but realistically speaking, they could have merely blipped into an alternate dimension. Enoch says that part of their punishment is that they would have to see their children (the Nephilm) die.

While the sons of God are angels, and left their first estate and also booted out of heaven, they're still angelic beings. Less powerful than God almighty, but certainly more powerful than mankind. We also know that all throuout scriptures, angels manifest themselves as men. We even sometimes entertain Angels unawares, being that they can do this in our realm.

You said...they continued to produce Nephilim afterwards. I see this as fact, as per scripture. But do we really know that it was done in a natural manner (ie., having sex)? The book of Enoch says that they did not do this lightly, and feared the consequences from God for it, hence the oath upon Mt. Herman amongst themselves. Now maybe they did continue to it via sex, but they also may have done it via genetics I think. This could account for the alien abduction scenarios where the aliens always are interested in mankinds reproductive systems and the gathering of biological material. The evil ones looking for a loophole of sorts with God. Pure speculation of course, but historical accounts of abductions and so forth, and the (at least minimal) resistance to the idea in the first place certainly all suggest the possibity. Just food for thought brother.

While out working today i was thinking about this a little, and the thought occured to me...Many posters in this thread are attempting to reason this scenario out, apply logic and so forth, and so I wondered...Is this a good thing to do here? Are we not instructed to lean not upon our own understanding? Are we not told of the simplicity of Christ and the Gospel? We are to seek God with all of our heart, and to have faith in Him, even if we do not understand carnally. Perhaps this is also an indication that the text of the scriptures are to be viewed with a more literal perspective than to look for complicated metaphors and so forth as many try to do, rather than just read it and take it as is...prayerfully i might add.

2 Corinthians 11: 3
3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ./(KJV)

An excellent suggestion sister. Let's stick to the scriptures for sure. Not man's writings, not opinion, scripture.
Many times it is useful to not respond to a provocative post immediately. But to back off for the moment, perhaps pray for utterance and to respond later to the post. Good advice for all here. It works for me. What ever happened to respect others beliefs in the board? Of late, even some of the boards respected members fail to follow this, and become flustered and step out of line only because someone believes differently than they do. This is not walking in love brothers and sisters.

We must strive towards unity in the body. Emotionalism should play no part in the pursuit of this. Especially with respect to non-salvational topics.

So let's look at the OTHER scripture that mentions Nephilim.
Are you willing to do that?

EDIT : Sorry Edward I didn't see your post before I posted this one.

Yes as long as it is about Nephilim.

Once we exhaust our study of the Nephilim, then let's start a thread about other giants and where they came from.

Also it is my contention that Nephilim could not reproduce being hybrid.

Thanks JLB

Just guessing but from your pic you're in you late thirties to very early fifties and calling one a youngster in my world, Texas (more like Australia than the natives will ever own up to), is polite and honorable. Get your bike over here and my wife will let me charge my wheelchair up and we will go for a ride.

Sure thing Bill ! It's funny how the older we get the more youngsters are about.

You'll get tired of me interjecting on this point I'm sure :D Why does the stipulation that the Nephilim after the flood which came from the line of Ham negate that they could be sired by Angels? Women ( daughters of men ) also came from Ham.
