Several months ago I spent some time reading Daniel in its entirety. While reading Daniel 9, I had a revelation into 2 verses that contain a lot of controversy in the world of prophecy interpretation. The traditional christian view built entire theological doctrines around it, but I can see where the interpretation comes when reading the NIV. With many “messianic” teachers still teaching the same thing, I felt it was time to dispel the myth. The KJV, although not without error, was produced long before man’s past century doctrines played a role in manipulating the verses in question. So, we will use it to study from. There are however, several other translations that get this translation correct as well.

Before we get started, read Daniel 9 in complete context… the entire chapter. It will only take a few minutes but will greatly increase your discernment in these matters. For bonus points, read it once in NIV and then again in KJV. You should notice stark differences in 9:24 and 9:27 especially.".........

why does this site automatically like posts by you from me?

next, uhm the temple cant return. why would jesus need a temple? he doesn't. we are his temple. jesus said that man neither worship here in Jerusalem nor in samaria but in spirit and in truth. which the latter was always supposed to be in the torah.

Wow. Ummmm yeah. That's certainly a different perspective. I don't agree with his timing and calendar at all. This, to me, is a classic example of piecemealing scripture to fit one's notions.

I'm not going to even begin to comment as the differences in his calendar mathematics and mine are so different that I'd need to write a book. I will say one thing. Based on both scripture and stone, Christ lived 12240 days, which is 33.5 solar years, exactly 34 prophetic years. It's that, plus the timing of this birth (Rev 12:1) and the day of the crucifixion I could calculate very accurate dates of his birth and death, which BTW, do not contradict history.

Jesus doesn't need a temple, the prince who is to come is the one who will go to the temple of God and proclaim himself as God.

He will be revealed in his own time, and be destroyed by the brightness of the Coming of the Lord Jesus.

So, when Jesus returns, there will be on earth these three things:

A Temple.

A man of sin.

Jesus Christ Himself for all to see.

The seven year great tribulation, which is not found anywhere in scripture, was derived by mans misinterpretation of Daniel 9:24-27. This is what the Bible clearly reveals about the seventy weeks. From vs.24 to vs.27 was seventy weeks or 490 days beginning with Ezra, (Ref: Ezra Chapter 3-6), rebuilding the temple to the time of the Messiah (Jesus Christ) being fulfilled in his birth, death and resurrection. In a sense it was a literal and spiritual temple that was being built. Ezra was teaching the people of the Spiritual temple of God that indwelled in all that believed in God and of the coming of Messiah. There was actually a five hundred year span from Ezra till the birth of Jesus that God shut himself off from National Israel because of their transgressions towards the Lord, but saved a remnant that would believe in the coming of Messiah, (Ref: Isaiah Chapter 10), as still today, God waits for National Israel (all people of the world) to repent and believe in the name of Jesus.

Daniel 9:24-27 the Vision of the Seventy Weeks

Vs. 24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.

This verse shows us that the timing from Ezra to the cross was 490 days as within that time Ezra was reestablishing the law in Jerusalem until Jesus had fulfilled the end of transgression, made an end to sin, made reconciliation for iniquity and bring everlasting righteousness and to seal up the prophecy to fulfill the law through the cross.

Vs. 25 Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.

From the time of the cross, which also means the last days, which includes what some like to separate and call the Great Tribulation, which is not mentioned anywhere in scripture and is not a separate event after the elect of God are caught up, but as the last days so we are in tribulation times until the end of the world as we know it; (Ref: Acts 2:17; Hebrews 1:1,2; Matthew 24:4-31; Mark 13:24-31; Luke 21:5-36). These are just some of the scriptures that support that we will go through all things of Revelation Chapters 6-21 (Please read these chapters). Everyone will have opportunity to come unto salvation through Jesus Christ if they would only repent, but when Satan is cast into the lake of fire forever after the second battle, which will be explained later in this chapter, that will come out of Jerusalem Gods judgment will be upon his people and the books will be opened at that time. No secret rapture as the saints of God are still here at this time.

Matthew 25:10 and while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.

Vs.26 And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.

After 434 years that end in the year AD29 shall Messiah be cut off. Jesus was crucified after he was baptized in AD 29 three and a half years later. Jesus was cut off (killed) by the people of the prince, which means National Israel or other words the Pharisees, Sanhedrin and the high priest that destroy the city and the sanctuary (meaning Christ) and the end thereof shall be with a flood (Gods wrath) that will put an end to abominations by desolation or in other words a ruin to evil deeds. Daniel 9:27 explains the definitions of desolation of abominations or the ruin of evil deeds. There is no actual Desolations of Abominations where the so-called Antichrist will take a literal throne, but the desolation will be when the final Pope tries to take his throne in Jerusalem, (Ref: Daniel 11:36-45). Gods’ word never defines one great Antichrist, but says there are many antichrists. The seven years that some call the seven year tribulation means three and a half years of Jesus teaching before he was crucified and three and a half years of Stephen teaching before he was stoned to death, which took place after Jesus was taken up to heaven.

1John 2:18 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.

2Thessalonians 2:1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,
2Th 2:2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.
2Th 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
2Th 2:4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
2Th 2:5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?
2Th 2:6 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.
2Th 2:7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.
2Th 2:8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:
2Th 2:9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
2Th 2:10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
2Th 2:11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
2Th 2:12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Vs.27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

The 70th seven began with Christ baptism in AD 29 and three years later at the end of the first half of the 70th seven sacrifices and offering ceased because Christ hung on the cross as he was the final sacrifice that fulfilled the law. From the giving of the law in 458BC when Ezra went to establish the law, or to rebuild the Spiritual city right up to the cross were the first 69 sevens. The 70th seven is from the time of the cross until Jesus comes and gathers his bride as they prepare to stand in the Holy place until the overspreading of abominations he will make desolate, or make an end to all that would not repent.

Brother, the 69th week did not end until 5 days before His crucifixion, on the day the whole city proclaimed Hosanna to the son of David and laid palm branches down for Him to walk on.

Jesus said of this day, if the people do not praise Him this way, the stones themselves would cry out, because this was the day the 69th week ended.

5 days later Messiah was cut off, but not for himself. Which, the scripture says is after the 69th week.

That day of the 69th week has become known as Palm Sunday.

What /where is this Holy place?

for His glory said -

The 70th seven is from the time of the cross until Jesus comes and gathers his bride as they prepare to stand in the Holy place until the overspreading of abominations he will make desolate, or make an end to all that would not repent.

The prophetic pattern in Daniel 9 is:

seven weeks - [Gap]
sixty two weeks - [Gap]
seventieth week.

I don't see anything in this prophetic timeline that allows for a gap in the 70th week.

Furthermore, the resurrection/Rapture occurs for ALL His people, at His Coming, which is once.

so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation. Hebrews 9:28

and again -

22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive. 23 But each one in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, afterward those who are Christ's at His coming. 24 Then comes the end, when He delivers the kingdom to God the Father, when He puts an end to all rule and all authority and power. 1 Corinthians 15:22-24

At the Rapture, the Resurrection saints go first, then the Rapture, whereby all are caught up together.

Then at that time when all are caught up together with the Lord, He puts down all rule and authority, by striking the nations as all see Him. He personally destroys the man of sin, the lawless one, by the brightness of His Coming.

If this event were to happen before the Tribulation, there would be no Tribulation.

Not trivial, but I am a sister not a brother, but get this a lot so no big deal, LOL. If you re-read this I said that Jesus birth, death and Resurrection was all involved within the 69th to the 70th week.

I will answer you and Reba at the same time as Reba asked what/where is the Holy place.

There is only one rapture, or as the Bible calls it being caught up in the air. It's a procession of those who are asleep in the grave have to rise first to meet us as we are all taken up together to be with Christ forever.

1Thessalonians 4:15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
1Thessalonians 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
1Thessalonians 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

There will be two great battles that will take place in the end of days as we the saints of God will still be here while they are taking place as Jesus said when you see the abomination of desolation (Papal Rome taking it’s seat in Jerusalem once again) to stand in the Holy place, which is a literal place and a Spiritual place as Gods seal is upon those who have repented and God will protect them from what is about to take place. Any place we are standing is a Holy place when we have the Holy Spirit dwelling in us as we have become a Holy people unto God. You have to cross reference Zechariah 14; Revelation 13:11-18; and Revelation 20 to understand the prophecy given in Zechariah 14 about the second coming of Christ and what has to take place before and after his return that in a twinkling of an eye we will be with the Lord forever. Please read all these chapters as it is imperative for Spiritual understanding.
Matthew 24:15; Revelation 7:3; Revelation 20:7-10

The first battle of the end of days starts in Revelation chapter 20 and will be that of Satan’s control of Jerusalem through Papal Rome taking captive those that are of God and forcing them to bow down to their thoughts of an imaginative worship to their pagan gods and rituals and those that are in Christ will be forced to denounce Christ and if they refuse then they will die a martyrs death. This is the mark of the beast with Papal Rome being the beast and the mark of the beast is the actions of their hands and the thoughts of their minds. God sends an angel to bind up Satan and throw him into the Abyss right after Papal Rome’s abomination of desolation in Jerusalem so he can no longer deceive the nations. Remember that 1000 years is as a day with the Lord in his timing.
Revelation 13:11-18

The second and last battle of the end of days will be the gathering of the bride of Christ (those who have repented) as she has made herself ready as she endured until the end of days, both dead and alive and will be taken in the air to meet Jesus while the angel chains Satan and throws him into the Abyss for a time. Jesus then comes down to earth to stand on the Mt. Of Olives with his army (we the saints) to fight the final battle as he cast the beast and the false prophet into the lake of fire and makes an end to the abominations of Papal Rome. Jesus will then let Satan loose from the Abyss and with Satan’s army will rage war on all the nations but will be consumed by the fire of heaven and will be cast into the lake of fire and sulphur with his army for eternity. After this God will bring everyone into his throne of judgment and those not found in the Lambs book of Life will be cast also into the lake of fire and sulphur with the beast, false prophet, Satan and all his army thus ushering in the new heaven and the new Jerusalem that we will be with the Lord forever.
Revelation 20:5, 6; 9:20, 21; 20:15

It is so imperative to understand those Spiritual words of God so we will not be taken as a thief in the night when Jesus returns. Revelation, which means veil rolled aside, starts with the seven churches that spiritually represent all Gods children as they are given the seven spirits of God to help keep them inline with the will of God. The seven spirits are wisdom, understanding, counsel, knowledge, reverence, might and the Spirit of the Lord. Revelation chapter 4 is used in the false teachings of a pretrib rapture that teaches the saints of God will be out of here before a Great Tribulation occurs. This is a monstrous deception of Satan that will cause many to fall away from God as we will go through everything of Revelations including the seven seals of judgment, seven trumpets of judgment, the harvest judgment, the seven vials of judgment right up to and including the two final battles when judgment comes on all the inhabitants on the earth dead and alive.

God does not want us to fear those things which must come, but be prepared for those things which have to come. If we are truly sealed by the Spirit of God through repentance then we need not fear what man can do to the flesh as we have the Holy Spirit dwelling in us as we have died to self and we no longer live, but Christ lives in us. We will be the witness of Christ to the world when the last of the abominations take place and our only concern needs to be of us being the witness to the nations that God has called us to be.
2Thessalonians 2:3; Mark 4:21-25; Romans 8:14-17

Where is this literal place? or are you speaking of the hearts of men?

Matthew 24:15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)

Actually it's both. This verse is speaking about the great tribulation of Jerusalem when Satan uses Rome once again to take it's seat in Jerusalem, which is the abomination spoken of by Daniel the prophet. Now if you read further down in Matthew God warns us to not to turn back to collect our things but to flee from the abomination to a Holy place (a place of Gods safety) where we are being Spiritually taken care of as we are sealed by the Holy Spirit until the coming of the Lord, Ephesians 1:13, 14.

I disagree.

He was crucified after the 69th week.

The 70th week doesn't start until verse 27.

The Messiah cut off and Temple destroyed are both shown to be after the 69th week, yet the 70th week does not start until sometime after the year 70 AD.

This is how the structure of the prophecy

I have already said that Jesus was crucified after the 69th week.

In order to understand the whole seventy weeks you have to go back and study Ezra.

Now that is very interesting. I had not considered that possibility before. Some say it's the stone temple, some, us believers. Perhaps both are right?! "When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, (comma!) (then...) "stand in the holy place"...(In Christ. In the Spirit. Go into immediate prayer and get into the Spirit. Don't go down into the house first, drop and pray.)

Interesting take on this. I am going to ponder this. :thinking

That doesn't align with Daniel 9:27 or 2 Thessalonians 2.

We need to stand in Christ all the time not just when there is an abomination of desolation.

You still have not answered as to where this holy place is, at lest not that i see....I will not ask again....

Thank you for trying...

You think, brother? It almost sounds like a given, doesn't it? I am starting to wonder if being indwelt by the Spirit, and being "in the Spirit" is exactly the same...??

Consider this, John. Disciple, Apostle, right? Certainly in Christ, full of the Holy Spirit even as Jesus walked the earth. But was he 'in the Spirit' all the time? Knee jerk says, why of course! Yet, we have this statement given by him (after Jesus ascended and the comforter came!):

Revelation 1: 9-10
9 I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.

10 I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet.../

His wording implies that he is not in the Spirit every moment of every day, or why mention it? Eh? With all of the revelations about the Spiritual realm coming out lately (translation, transrelocation, being taken up to the third heaven, having visons, visitations from Angels and Jesus...all of that) has me wondering. We are to live for the Spirit and not the flesh. We are spiritual beings in Christ. But we do have to operate and function in the natural realm. We may not be able to do both at once. How are you going to continue shopping at the grocery store in the middle of a vision, being taken up, or a visitation from Jesus? I don't think you could. If one is 'in the Spirit' they are in the spiritual realm. Then they come out of the Spirit and return to the natural realm. Does that make sense? Pray about that brother and I would love to hear your thoughts on it.

I'm sorry Reba as I have tried to show you it is not just one particular place, but that of a place of hiding i.e. hills, caves or any place where we will not be found of man where we are protected of God until Jesus returns. I truly can not make it any clearer, but we will move on and God bless you.

I have always considered"10 I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day" to mean he was in a state of a vision.... not sure the grammar is right.... John was in the upper room i believe, he was baptized in the spirit so believing this is a bit more , for lack of better term is not a stretch...to me... Sorta agree with ya Edward
