I know that he is not the only one who violates it. He is also not yet a Jew, so technically he is not violating anything yet. I am just surprised that is did. :yes To be honest, I also felt as though he was trying to claim otherwise when he wrote, "The shabbat stars Friday sundown and ends Saturday. Jews are free the other days. " He omitted the words that is ends Saturday at sundown, and his words about "being free" the other days implies he knows that he shouldn't be on-line on that one day. I know he is converting to a Conservative group, and not all Conservatives follow that. If he was converting to Reform I wouldn't have been surprised at all at his on-line activities. :lol If his does not follow those rules of the Shabbat, he could have simply said it, or if he was unaware, he could have said that also. There are a great many things he could have said. :-)

Some Jews believe that using any electrical appliance, such a computer, is violating the Sabbath.

Yes, I know that the Jews also have the Talmud. The Hebrew Tanakh and the Biblical Old Testament do not differ at all. They are one and the same! Messianic Jews use it! Christians learn and study Hebrew. All of us, who were not born speaking Hebrew have no other choice but to use the English translated text until we learn Hebrew! We're all in the same boat. Christians look at the Old Testament through the Jewish POV (minus anything in relation to Christ) because that's the only way to look at it! You'll find many on this forum like with a deep understanding of Hebrew language and culture.

Well I will still have to disagree. There are different translations and many verses have been corrupted over the years. So, it's like looking at a different person in the mirror.

Since I'm a convert I stride to do my best. I study my faith and then rest. Since the Shabbat ends on Saturday evening I sometimes don't have time to wait to get online.

There are many translations true.

By stating that the Holy Scripture is corrected, you are stating that your Holy Scriptures are corrupted. Can you please back up the claim that the Biblical Old Testament is corrupted?

What English Tanakh do you use?

Because the Hebrew and English language belongs to two different language families, accurately rendering the Jewish scriptures into the English language is never an easy task, and a literal word-for-word English translation would produce a Bible that would be difficult to read. A good translation must be accurate and readable - that is, it must reliably replicate the meaning of the text without sacrificing its readability.

The best translation of the Jewish scriptures is the Judaica Press Tanach series. Rabbi Avraham J. Rosenberg has provided in his lucid translation a remarkably accurate rendition of the Jewish scriptures. It comes in about 30 volumes and it not only contains a translation of the Messoretic text, but of the great Jewish commentators as well. It will cost you a few hundred shekalim for the whole set, but it is a life-long investment and well worth the price.

why am i not suprised. you do realise that the findings of the qumran schools hurts your argument.

the truth about what was found at qumran

the kjv is based on the textus repcitpticus and aslo the masoretic texts

A Creationist's Defense of the King James Bible

i prefered not to use the the kjvo only sites , even the morris is one of them.

could any other of brethren post a link on that for the kjv, i know that it uses the the masoretic hebrew texts.

Jewish English Bible translations - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

If a Jew and a Christian read from any of the listed Jewish Translation Bibles--they would be reading the same exact book! Because the Holy Texts are one and the same.

There are many Christians who are fluent in Hebrew and who study the Tanakh in Hebrew, are they reading a corrupt Scripture?

I think you out to be very careful not to condemn the Holy Scripture of YHVH as corrupt, because you condemn the Scripture of the God you desire to serve.

Well if you want an example the I will give you guys an example.
Read this article for an example.

Well I would have to disagree with the Christian OT. Trust me when I say this! I just know. Maybe it is how I see it. Are you guys mad at me? I feel weird now that you all are ganging up on me.

Well then I would have to look into your claims. But I would be skeptical. Yes, Jews don't preach to convert people. You have to ask to be one. You might be turned away but be whats that word? Just keep trying!

No one's mad at you dear! Forgive us if you are feeling ganged up on. That is not our intent!

The problem is that you are basing your knowledge of the Christian OT on (1) things you've heard others say, and (2) feelings (see underlined)

Now, if you as a Jew and I as a Christian, use this Jewish Bible produced by Jews, (the) Jewish Publication Society of America (JPS), are we or are we not studying the same sacred text?

Well there are some differences since the evolution of Christianity. I'm not saying everything has changed. But with the rise in Christian converts in history and the smaller number of Jewish Christians. You cannot doubt the Christian OT is not the exact Jewish bible. Trust me I should know.
