Attention Athiest and non-Christians

Because Jesus is expection us to carry each others burden and leaders should be capable doing so, They are getting payed for it.

BTW, is soneone comes to me with the spiritual problems I am ready to help them. I will never turn them down.

If we are having spiritual problems, shouldn't we ask Jesus for help, is He not God and capable of all things? When I have serious problems, I ask my God, He hasn't let me down yet!

Her husband was verbally and physically abusive to her; the only "spiritual problem" she was having is that her bible told her, basically, to shut up and take it.

I, and she, fail to see what advice her pastor could have possibly given her. This is another reason for her deconversion; the best decision, she says, she's ever made.

The New Testament does not say just take abuser. I don't believe either she nor her pastor was follwoing the Bible. The Bible is powerful to solve any problems. Period.

I had the similar problem like hers and my faith is stronger because of that. My faith is becoming stronger the days go by. I can handle any problems with His help.!!!!

Praise the Lord!!!!!!!!!! Thank you Jesus!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Riiiight. I think we're getting a little preachy now.

Your claim that "the Bible is powerful [enough] to solve any problem" is, at least, testable. Can the bible solve these problems?

1] What should I have for lunch today?
2] What programming language should I use in my website?
3] How do black holes interact with surrounding space?

If, as you say, the bible can solve any problem, then these questions ought to be mere child's play. :)

Novum,

You are playing game now. I will not engage in playing game.

Thank you for your contribution. You helped to spread the power of Jesus.

You helped me a greate deal.

If you have more sincere inquiry I will be glad to help. :D

Fish.

The one the Spirit leads you to use.

3] How do black holes interact with surrounding space?

In a conspiratorial manner.

Time for me to bow out of this thread. I think we've hit a dead end.

It is sad Novum. "Attention" was indeed called to atheists and non-christians and when they do show up nothing more than a mere rhetoric was repeated for them.

I strongly believe if I knew christians before when I was agnostic I would have never chosen to be a Christian.

In isolation did I read the bible and in isolation was I found. I admire your character for bowing out of a thread where you hit a dead end rather than be "christian-like" and argue your way through with more rhetoric.

Tan,

Are you saying that I did not do a good job talking to them?

Tan,

If I did not do a good job why didn't you help me out and talk to them instead of criticizing me? I may not be a good evanglist but at least I do my best to reach out to them.

I am sorry I did not meet your standard. This is my best.

Sis Ginger,
I have been a stern atheist for most of my life. From since around 8 years old until I was 23 (I am 26 now). Being an atheist in the past I know what kind of an answer an atheist looks for. And this answer cannot be given on "faith" for them to accept. Whatever you answer they will ask another question for that answer not just to play games with you but to get to that root of the basis of your belief. And that root is faith and faith is not the answer an atheist is looking for.

So when you call attention to an atheist you need to have something other than faith based answers. Because a hindu, a buddisht, a muslim or any other person belonging to any other religion would give the same answers as you did. Now who should Novum believe? I know your immediate answer would be “Jesus†but from Novum’s point of view “why not allah? ..why not buddha?â€Â

That is the reason why Novum bases his questions on practicality. I haven’t seen any atheist who doesn’t do that. You have asked him to consider “God’s standards†where as he doesn’t even believe in a god at all so you have to prove to him that “Christian God†exists and then you can talk about his standards. Saying God exists because it says so in the bible and the bible is true because God dictated it, is but circular reasoning that an atheist would hate to get caught in.

You made claims, “The Bible is powerful to solve any problems. Period.†Novum said he would test it and posed 3 questions. Bible did not tell him to eat fish, neither is he spirit lead to use a programming language, nor the bible talks about conspiratorial black holes. Inviting someone for a discussion and then ridiculing them for the questions they ask is not the way you can convey the truth you hold to them.

It has nothing to do with Jesus' teachings.
It has everything to do with Jesus teachings if you are Christian. Jesus' teachings are completely different from the world point of view and teachings. Jesus is teachings telling us how to do and every conflict and problems. Thats why I deeply admired Him and trust everything what He says and believe everhthing what He claims!!!!!![/quote:72d22]
Uhm, gingercat, that's not my post you're quoting there. It was you, yourself, on the previous page[page 4] of this thread who wrote that.
You seem to have disagreed with your own previous response.[/quote:72d22]
Do not get caught up in a position of just defending yourself where you end up just contradicting yourself.

I don’t have all the answers and the right way either but when you invite an atheist into a discussion, making him bow out of the discussion is not our victory but our loss. One thing we have to keep in mind is, not all atheists are atheists because they haven’t read the bible, but some atheists were former christians who started reading their bible.
As far as me trying to answer atheist questions you can read a thread on that.

May be your input can shine some light on that thread.

You don't have to apologize at all sis. You haven't offended me. Neither are my forum posting standards yours. It just seemed if you were going to get frustrated talking to an atheist then you shouldn't have called to their attention.

I did not get frustrated and I did my best to reach out to them I just gave them what I got from God.

Sorry I did not meet your standard. I will keep reaching out to them whether it is immature or what ever. God bless what I am doing and He will use what I am doing.

thanks.

Who cares what the athiest is looking for as an answer, too bad for them. BOO HOO.

They want to disbelieve and no matter what is said they will twist it to fit their disbelief.

So who cares what they want, I care what God wants.

Henry said:

Stating that atheists "want to disbelieve" betrays a fundamental lack of understanding of atheism.
