Attention Athiest and non-Christians

Stating that atheists "want to disbelieve" betrays a fundamental lack of understanding of atheism.

An atheist who spends his free time hanging around Christians wants to believe, it's intellectual dishonesty that prevents them from saying so Henry. They don't trust Christ or have faith in what God has revealed, but they believe God exists and are hostile to God and the concept of God.

Hey look, JM took the term "intellectual dishonesty" from me and is now parading it around. Well done JM, we're proud you learned a new term!

I have previously stated in other threads my reasons for participating on these forums. If you are unable or unwilling to read and understand them and instead choose to make your own claims about me, it is you who remains intellectually dishonest and, quite simply, very rude for declaring my beliefs for me.

Your fundamental lack of understanding you bring to this forum is extremely dishonest and quite simply rude. I don't need to follow you around this forum and read what you write, I know what your write because I use to write and say the same things.

I once debated for 6 hours against the existance of God!

JM
PS: I didn't learn any "new terms", I just know they'll bother you when I use them.

As evidenced by your previous posts, you clearly have no idea what I'm writing about.

I once debated for 6 hours against the existance of God!

That's lovely. Would you like some kind of award?

Bother me? Naw. I'm amused. :)

why are you here? i never got the chance to read why... im just curious. I know why Im here, but other than that...

There's a few reasons I remember posting. The most important reason I'm here, though, is to learn more about Christianity. I think I'm succeeding in that end, so far. :)

care

Who cares what the athiest is looking for as an answer, too bad for them. BOO HOO.
Atheists are not looking for the answers for themselves they are prodding you to get to the answers for yourself. Atheists already have the answer. Like a good teacher when you finally get the answer your eyes will be opened and you will never forget.

They want to disbelieve and no matter what is said they will twist it to fit their disbelief.
It's not a matter of wanting to disbelieve it's a matter of not have any reason to believe. If there were facts and evidence belief would not matter. There are rational beliefs and those are beliefs that have a reason to be believed. I believe it will turn dark this evening because this happens every night or I believe it will rain shortly because the sky has turned suddenly dark. Then there are irrational beliefs and they are beliefs that are held despite the total lack of evidence or likely hood of occurring.

So who cares what they want, I care what God wants.

Rezn,

You don't realize that you are creating your own image of God. In other words, your mentality is that you are god!

Once again, gingercat attributes words to someone who didn't write them and then makes comments.

The first time was much better - when he (she?) argued with a sentence that he (she?) thought I wrote, but it was actually gingercat's own words. :D

gingercat, could you watch who you're quoting?

Novum,

I am goofy in many ways and I might have done that. Would you be specific which one you are talking about?

Before you answer think about this. Isn't that what all theists are doing or have done. The God they worship more often than not reflects their own percieved imaginings of how God is or should be. There are those theists by their nature are easy going and loving and in their posts they reflect this type of God. At the other end are those that are rigid and unbending and their posts reflect the same type of God. There are even those who post here that know they are sinners and want to be punished by God and their posts reflect their personality as well. In short they have created God in their own image.I have no evidence of a higher being outside of myself. If there is one he doesn't care what humans do and does not have an ego that needs to be massaged by worship. So in a way you are correct in that I am the captain of my ship.

We, as Christians have to answer to God how we understand Him. That's why wholehearted devotion is the only way for the Lord. Jesus clearly states that the narrow the road that leads to life and only a few find it.

Only a few?

There are over 2.1 billion christians in the world and it's the single largest religion. Is that a "few"?

Matt 7:21 "Not everone who say to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven,.."

Matt 7:14 "But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it."

Those verses are Jesus' warnings!!!

There are many false prophets and believers. Why do you think there are so many denominations?

Do you consider yourself one of the few?

This is up to God to judge. :o I hope I will pass my loyalty to Him.

If you don't even know this about yourself, who are you to judge the 2.1 billion others?

I am not judging them. I am only quoting the Bible and have to make discernment. Please don't twist around my words and fit into your mentality.

BTW, according to the Bible you don't have any chance of eternal life. Don't worry about other Christians, you should worry about your own, dear.

Your "making discernment" sounds an awful lot like "passing judgment". What's the difference?

Don't patronize me, dear. ;)

I'm certainly aware that I have no "chance" of eternal life, if the Bible is true. But to be completely honest with you, I do not desire an eternal life - regardless whether it be heaven or hell. But that's another discussion...
