Please provide the scripture validating that. Our physical body contains sin, as well as a lustful craving to fulfill its sinful appetites, such as scripture plainly defines as the lust of the flesh —
If one is walking in the Spirit, it is because the flesh has been crucified, (Gal 5:24), destroyed. (Rom 6:6)I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. Galatians 5:16
We cannot walk in the flesh and in the Spirit at the same time.Have you ever just read and believed what this verse says, without adding your own words or preconceived ideas to it?
Pick one, and hold to it.
Flesh and Spirit are...frames of mind; not literal skin and bones, or ghost like apparitions. How about verse 17?
Why would our flesh lust against the Spirit?
For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. Galatians 5:17
Why is the Spirit contrary to our flesh if it is sinless?
Physical skin and bones cannot want or desire anything, and have no power to control a person.
Flesh, in this verse, pertains to a worldly oriented mind, and that sort of mind cannot have the things of the Spirit, no matter how much it might want it.
They are out of the reach of a person walking after worldly things.
Spirit, in this verse, pertains to a Godly oriented mind, and that sort of mind cannot have the things of the worldly, no matter how much it attracts him.
BTW, the verse does not say the worldly actually want the things of the Spirit, and it does not say the Spiritual will actually want the things of the worldly.
It is simply a scenario pointing out the impossibility of any crossover.
Cats can't have the things of birds, and birds can't have the things of a cat.
Neither would they want them.
Those things of THE flesh are sins. Here is a list of the works or manifestations of the flesh:
Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are
adultery,
fornication,
uncleanness,
lewdness,
idolatry,
sorcery,
hatred,
contentions,
jealousies,
outbursts of wrath,
selfish ambitions,
dissensions,
heresies,
envy,
murders,
drunkenness,
revelries,
and the like;
of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. Galatians 5:19-21
These things of our flesh are a list of sins.
These are a list of things THE fleshly oriented mind desires to do.These are a list of things in our flesh that our flesh desires to do
But walking in and after the Spirit will make the remembrance of that desire moot.
It is written..."And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts." (Gal 5:24)
I am Christ's.
Aren't you ?
