Ok so I am being ticky. Hopefully not in a bad condemning way.
You could be ticky.
I don't even know what it means.
Gosh, I've been away a long time.
Acts 10:1 kjv
1. There was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius, a centurion of the band called the Italian band,
2. A devout man, and one that feared God with all his house, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God alway.
Turning to God is not salvation. It is a step in the right direction. If you noticed my post 331 is not addressed to a particular person. The title of this thread can mean different things to different people.
How can you know that turning to God is not salvation?
Who makes up all these rules anyway?
If I turn to God,,,it is indeed salvation.
If I'm turning away from satan and toward God...what would YOU call it?
Is there a pre-salvation claus somewhere in the NT? Could you lead me to it?
Will check your post 331.
Cornelius was on the direction to God’s Son. Cornelius had a vision. Peter had a vision. A direction was plotted to lead Cornelius to eternal life through the good news that Jesus died for sins.
Cornelius was already saved when Peter and company showed up.
Acts 10:1-4
1Now there was a man at Caesarea named Cornelius, a centurion of what was called the Italian cohort,
2a devout man and one who feared God with all his household, and gave many alms to the Jewish people and prayed to God continually.
3About the ninth hour of the day he clearly saw in a vision an angel of God who had just come in and said to him, “Cornelius!”
4And fixing his gaze on him and being much alarmed, he said, “What is it, Lord?” And he said to him, “Your prayers and alms have ascended as a memorial before God.
He was a devout man, one who feared God, taught his household, gave alms and prayed continually.
This does not sound like a saved person to you?
Acts 10:47-48
47“Surely no one can refuse the water for these to be baptized who have received the Holy Spirit just as we did, can he?”
48And he ordered them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they asked him to stay on for a few days.
Then the Holy Spirit fell on everyone there and they were baptized.
One has to be born again before he can be baptized.
Your friends, my Christian friends, those lost people out there are on a journey.
Repentance is a terrible place. You have found out you are lost and a sinner.
You absolutely need good news. You may have heard of Jesus, but not realize he died for the sinner you are trying to flee from.
I am not trying to get an eddif version of salvation posted. If Wondering sees an error please say so.
You are definitely posting an ediff version of salvation.
Salvation can come in different ways. God is a big God...He can save anyone He believes worships Him.
There is no special formula, except I did post some beliefs a person must have. Very few.
The friends I posted are not on a journey.
They have arrived, and very much so.
Think of it...you're practically stating who is saved and who is not.
How do You know?
That's a job for God, not us.
A person is saved by Jesus' atonement...
Not a doctrine.
You go so far as to say that the person may have heard of Jesus but does not know He died for their sins.
If I understood correctly...
They don't need to know that Jesus died for their sins...
Once they accept Jesus, they are saved.
No doctrine necessary.
A redneck has just so many skills, and from then on it depends on change from God (Father Son Holy Spirit). Five people reading this will probably hear 9 things I could mean.
Peter saw unclean animals. He finally got the point God was declaring Gentiles as being loved by God.
Enough for now.
eddif
You have plenty of skills.
