Now we can interpret that passage...called the Roman road but is quoted from Duet 30
I see B of R as to look to the one that will come....to prepare their hearts in readiness....Why because when the pharasees came to John to be baptized... He told them to bring forth fruit of repentance....meaning atitudes and deeds that show they have rethought their previous thinking.Johns purpose BY Gods will as stated by his father
And you, my child, will be called a prophet of the Most High;
for you will go on before the Lord to prepare the way for him,
77 to give his people the knowledge of salvation
through the forgiveness of their sins,
78 because of the tender mercy of our God,
by which the rising sun will come to us from heaven
79 to shine on those living in darkness
and in the shadow of death,
to guide our feet into the path of peace.”
I see the baptism of repentance as prep work for the one who can remove sin -Christ Jesus (not a waste of time)
Rom 6:7..."For he that is dead is freed from sin."Where did Paul write that he is personally perfect and free from all
sins?
I think I get the idea of what you posted here, as with your European background you may have worded it a bit oddly. That’s my dating you personally are therefore now sinless.
Amen to that.It says He’s done his part. You need to do your part. “Escape” requires you to move, not have something removed.
It isn't written so plainly, but his words sure infer it often enough.Paul didn’t thank God that he was now sinless.
Those scriptures do not say what you are making them say. Paul wasn’t hinting at it. The whole attitude of rejoicing over your own holiness is foreign to any Bible writer as it is foreign to Jesus. Jesus never spoke of his sinlessness.Rom 6:7..."For he that is dead is freed from sin."
He had just written of our means of death in the preceding verses.
I also think Paul was qualified to include himself in the following verses.
"There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit." (Rom 8:1)
"Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame." (1 Cor 15:34)
"For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him." (2 Cor 5:21)
Peter adds..."But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;
Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy." (1 Peter 1:15-16)
“For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps
Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:” (1 Peter 2:21-22)
"Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin;" (1 Peter 4:1)
"According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust." (2 Peter 1:3-4)
John adds..."Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.” (1 John 3:4-9)
“We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.” (1 John 5:18)
I think I get the idea of what you posted here, as with your European background you may have worded it a bit oddly.
Yes, I have followed God's graciously provided escapes from temptation.
He is true...thanks be to God.
Amen to that.
I am grateful for the new divine nature that causes me to "move" away from the traps of the second death.
So can everyone else.
It isn't written so plainly, but his words sure infer it often enough.
It isn't written that he thanked God for his shoes either, but that doesn't make me think he was always barefoot.
BTW, our "example" is Jesus, and not Paul or other disciples of the Lord.
As Peter wrote...“For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps
Who did no sin, neither was guile yfound in his mouth:” (1 Peter 2:21-22)
I am so so confused....maybe I have not read it all...I do agree that (both) baptisms remove/remit sin.
The confession should precede the baptism however.
Confession doesn't "remove sin".
It is the step taken before baptism, before walking in the light.
They are no longer a slave to sin. (Those in Christ) There is assumption that when such people accepted Christ or were baptized into Christ there was a pledge of a good conscience towards God. A change of heart to do good. (repentance context at that time) Not a claiming of having no need because they have no sin. Those scriptures do not say what you are making them say. Paul wasn’t hinting at it. The whole attitude of rejoicing over your own holiness is foreign to any Bible writer as it is foreign to Jesus. Jesus never spoke of his sinlessness.
It does greatly resemble the man who prayed thanking God that he wasn’t a sinner like the man next to him. He had that attitude. He, too, spoke of his personal holiness and was thanking God for it.
I believe this Baptism is not of water...go into all the world first teach preach get them saved the rest follows suit believe first then baptize . to many place emphasis on baptism the act of justification is not baptism . baptism follows salvation we have local church baptizes for the remission of sins . which is %100 wrong water baptism never saved anyone. baptism is act of faith a statement of a follower of Jesu affirming our faith. saved justified sanctified baptized in the name of the father son Holy Ghost
The Paul who was before he met Christ considered himself the worst of sinners.Hopeful, did you know that Paul called himself “the chief of sinners?”
Shows he thought the opposite of your position.
Luke 12:50I believe this Baptism is not of water...
Before Paul net Jesus, he did consider himself the worst of sinners but considered as pursuing righteousness and truth defending the faith. “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst.” He didn’t saw he was but that he is. There’s no indication he thought he was sinless. The Paul who was before he met Christ considered himself the worst of sinners.
But like us all in Christ he was washed and sanctified in the name of Christ by the Spirit of God. The Apostle Paul lived like one in Christ with a new heart and mind.
And Ananias went his way and entered the house; and laying his hands on him he said, “Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus, who appeared to you on the road as you came, has sent me that you may receive your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit.” 18 Immediately there fell from his eyes something like scales, and he received his sight at once; and he arose and was baptized.
What is the diff between profession and confession
The Baptism that saves us now"...Is our Baptism into His Life....The power of His resurrected body. The Holy Ghost....
All true, but we don’t see the believers becoming sinless. They are no longer a slave to sin. (Those in Christ) There is assumption that when such people accepted Christ or were baptized into Christ there was a pledge of a good conscience towards God. A change of heart to do good. (repentance context at that time) Not a claiming of having no need because they have no sin.
Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. 35Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever. 36So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.
1John 3:9
No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God’s seed remains in them; they cannot go on sinning, because they have been born of God.
This sanctifying influence of the Spirit is also shown in Ezekiel 36.
I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. 27And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws
A good tree doesn't bear bad fruit.
Whoever says, “I know him,” but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in that person.
Presence tense to those still in the flesh
I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.
for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.
There should be a noticeable contrast in the lifestyle of a true believer in Christ vs those still in sin seen in the world.
The importance as always as stated by Paul is love expressing itself through faith not in works of the law such as circumcision.
If you don't have love towards others this is a sign that you don't belong to Christ.
Well I guess that answer depends on how far you sift in defining what is sin.All true, but we don’t see the believers becoming sinless.
Jesus required the rich young ruler to sell all he has, not one listed. We can assume his refusal was sin.Well I guess that answer depends on how far you sift in defining what is sin.
These can be kept:
You know the commandments: ‘You shall not murder, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not steal, you shall not give false testimony, you shall not defraud, honor your father and mother.’”
Abstain from sexual immorality
Love God
Love others

I agree. He still considered never considered himself sinless as Hopeful claims.Jesus came into the world to save sinners - When Paul was saved he considered himself one of the worst.
Paul lived like a believer and suffered greatly for Jesus's name after coming to the faith.
Hi, I do not believe we can put God in a box...Do you believe that baptism in water is the baptism with the Spirit?
Because some people believe that their profession of understanding is their confessionHow does this relate to my post?
