Believing in Wrong Doctrine: Will I lose my salvation?

Because He is the Lord God.

But isn't that is the same thing that any idol worshiper would claim of their idols too? Under the Law, how could you justify your form of idolatry while condemning others of theirs?

Not even close.

Please explain how worshiping the Lord God, is the same as worshipping idols?

Since no Gentiles, except for proselytes, were EVER under the law, your argument crumbles. Even the Gentiles in Acts, who were all part of Israel, being grafted into Israel, did not have to keep the law, as per the decision made in Acts 15.

Worshiping the image of a man is worshiping the image of a man. The Law calls it idolatry which you have said you do not practice.

How? By continuing to trip over the stumbling stone.

Why that is kind of funny and ironic, isn't it? Especially in light of this thread being 30 pages deep now concerning itself with Sin and wrong doctrine.

I can cite my sources if you wish, but isn't the content of what is said the crux for our discussion since the quote says it better than I could, aht-the while agreeing with what the source states? Just say you hate "Got questions," right? It doesn't matter if what is said goes along with what I believe does it? Altho for English correctness, I see you point.
If you are quoting another source, it is required that you identify said source, otherwise you are guilty of plagiarism.

Here is the question I asked you -

Please explain how worshiping the Lord God, is the same as worshipping idols?

I’m not asking about worshiping an image (man made idol).

I worship Jesus, the Lord God.

He is not an image (man made idol).

Amen. I agree.

Gentiles who live in the own country were not under the law of Moses.

Gentiles who are under grace today, are obligated to obey the Spirit of Grace.

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. Romans 8:14

I already answered your question. Did you ignore it or just trip over it?

There are only a handful of soterological camps. That is, 40 thousand denominations break down into Universalism, Arianism, Pelagianism (semi) etc. It is far better to follow theological streams than independent churches which are counted denominations etc. A denomination can be labeled differently simply because of a non affiliation. For example Every time a non affiliated non denominational or independent church pops up on the radar it is counted as a denomination. A southern baptist church each independent are listed as separate denominations.
Please allow me to rephrase my question. If what you say is 100% true and since there is only one Scripture why then is there not only one denomination, sect, or religious order?

After reviewing the post I referenced with my question, I have another question. Are you saying that the Catholic church is a higher authority than the Holy Scriptures and if so, which Catholic church? For reference, below is the text that I referenced.

As I said, this is a futile effort. Catholicism appeals to the Catholic church as the sole interpreter. While Protestants appeal to Sola Scriptura.

No you didn’t.

Your answer came from a different question than mine.

My question didn’t have the word “image” (image of a man) in it.

Please try to be honest.

Here is my question to you.

If you refuse to look at the ways you might be stumbling at the stumbling stone, then that is on you.

Were you created in the image of God?

I worship Jesus, the Lord God.

He is not an image (man made idol).

Maybe you don't carve an image in wood or stone. But what is the image that you have created for yourself? The image that you yourself hold in your heart?

blair,

In #239 it was stated:

To give more insight re OSAS vs OSNAS re the NT, it states many times, that there is one way for salvation, & not one mention how to lose salvation. Well, it does tell us blaspheming the Holy Spirit, is a way, but doing that, also tells us that a person capable of doing so, never was a true believer in the 1st place, so never qualified for salvation.

I responded: 'I asked for 'exegetical support' from the text and not your opinion of what it means'.

Now this list of verses is provided and it's a good list. However, it does not include any meaning from the text (exegesis). I'm no wiser about the meaning of the texts.

I figured I give you the most plain English verses I could find that explain it. How do you know if it's a good list if you, yourself do on understand the context? Please let me know what you do not understand, or re you attempting to prolong the discussion ..... just bc?

Ok, "I hate "Got Questions" Its existence is to misrepresent Catholicism so as to ensnare Catholics in false doctrines, making a BOOK a holy thing. In its opinion of Catholicism it says "Catholicism is a false religion." Instead they worship a BOOK. Nothing on the website is "right".

Now what?

JosephT

That's your opinion, & may be a valid one, altho having grown up Catholic, I haven't seen this to be the case in as strong of terms as you seem to think. Also, your, "Nothing on the website is "right,"" is a gross exaggeration don't ya think?
That being said, instead of attacking the source, how about discussing the material provided? If what I had pasted is absolutely false, as youu seem to say, please state your argument re what is stated, not who the source is ...... bc that doesn't matter if what is stated is true .... right?

BTW, I offer a quote from the "Got Questions" website referring Catholicism.
https://www.gotquestions.org/Catholic-questions.html

It certainly does not reflect your opinion. In all my research that has involved the "Got Questions" website, I have never observed it to be what you say of "Its existence is to misrepresent Catholicism so as to ensnare Catholics in false doctrines ..." If you are ble to give specific examples as such, please do.

Worshiping the Lord God is what we are all called to do.

Worshipping idols is forbidden by God, and could lead people into damnation if not repented of.

Yes, I agree: Worshiping the Lord God is what we are called to do. For God is SPIRIT and must be worshipped in Spirit and in Truth.

Are you avoiding answering my question? What is the image of God you hold in your heart? Is it the image of Jesus as the son of man?

Are you avoiding answering my question?

No.

I gave you a crystal clear answer.

I worship Jesus Christ, the Lord God.

I don't worship idols; images made by man.

What is the image of God you hold in your heart? Is it the image of Jesus as the son of man?

This is now a different question.

You still have not answered my question.

Here it is again -

Please explain how worshiping the Lord God, is the same as worshiping idols?

The last time I asked this question, you responded with this response below.

If you refuse to look at the ways you might be stumbling at the stumbling stone, then that is on you.

This does not answer my question.

If you want to have an honest discussion, then please answer with an honest answer.
