Celibacy

Do you think Celibacy is a wise idea? I've been celibate since 2006. And I've only been in a relationship with one person and all honesty, I just don't enjoy sex at all. I think it's boring, but that's just me. I've also been single since 2006 and I have no desire to go looking for a girlfriend.

Is it normal to feel this way? I'm excited to hear from you guys.

I will be 63 next Wednesday and have been celibate all but 5 of those years when I was married. I have never desired sex with someone to whom I wasn't married. In fact, the reason I divorced my wife was because of adultery. She was over-sexed and couldn't be satisfied, and I was never very interested. My first time was great since it was a new experience, but after that I lost interest. Of course, that could be due to her adultery. My hand always gave me the same result as sex with a lot less effort. Having sex with someone who couldn't be satisfied was not enjoyable. Now that I'm impotent, I care even less.

Um, what exactly do you mean?
You say you don't enjoy sex, so are you saying you have no sex drive?

Please dont feel bad Ive struggled with this issue many times and as a college student it's very difficult. Alot of the time dating can be hard because most of the guys i would date would sooner or later demand sex which i would automatically withhold because of my beliefs. So alot of the time it is easier to go without a relationship. In previous relationships if i felt like i went to far i would feel bad because i felt like i would be betraying my faith. so it you dont want a relationship dont feel bad it does not make you weird just pray for guidance and god will show you the answer.

I can only say the younger you are, the crazier it will make you when your desires wake up, so if you are going to be that way, then know the danger signs. I think it's better to be married if it can happen for you.
Don't shut the door on yourself so tight that you aren't ready if the right woman comes along... that is, :halo unless other things in your life have determined a definite NO is more the reality. :chin
