Yeah, sometimes it's a real free for all!Let's face it, not that many of us truly attempt to "compose" a post. Usually, we just "flash" off a quick, sometimes not very well thought-out, reply, just to get in our words as quickly as possible.
They say the biggest mistake that those who win the huge jackpots is they change their way of living. Some go broke.
No that is not the truth but some of them who do not handle it wisely go broke. There are some who have done quite well but they did not change their way of living and they invest it wisely. But I have heard some nightmares.I've heard that nearly everyone who wins big in the lottery is bankrupt in less than 2 years.
The TOG
Wadda ya mean, "were". Speak for yourself, I'm the same crazy fool, today, that I was back then.Yeah, sometimes it's a real free for all!
Hey, come on over to the....I forgot the name of it....thread. There's a real ruckus going on there. Just jump in swinging! Just like the old days when we were young and awesome!
This is true. My friend has done very well with his little bit of money (only 1 million)No that is not the truth but some of them who do not handle it wisely go broke. There are some who have done quite well but they did not change their way of living and they invest it wisely. But I have heard some nightmares.
If he counsels the poor members not to buy them on the basis of them being poor (assuming he's counseling them on the basis of it not being wise for them to spend what little money they do have in this way), his also refraining from buying them doesn't set an example unless he himself is also poor. Rom 14:21 doesn't apply to this any more than to use that verse to say the pastor must be prohibited from any luxury no matter how small, even those that he can afford. That is legalism. If he counseled the poor members of his flock not to buy them, then he had to set the example himself by not buying them, or even accepting them in the collection plate. You can't reasonably expect others to do what you aren't willing to do yourself.
It is good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor any thing whereby thy brother stumbleth, or is offended, or is made weak. Romans 14:21 KJV
One million is ok but with the prices now that is not very much. That would take some really wise investing to try and multiply what you have got. This is true. My friend has done very well with his little bit of money (only 1 million)
So few of us understand real worth. I wish it had not taken me so long to learn it.I have quite a bit more than a "modest" stash. But I have always (except once) bought used cars. I drive them for at least ten years, if they hold up. I seldom eat out at fancy restaurants. (Maybe three times a year) I even tear paper towels in half if that is all I need for a spill. Most of my clothes come from thrift shops. I live in a three bedroom home built in 1954, for which I paid $15,500.
I would not have the steady income from that pile of money if I had spent it as fast as it came in.
its gambling, one doesn't watch jal alai without betting on the shots and person whom will win.I know what Jai lai is. I used to watch Miami Vice, lol.
Sometimes I buy a lotto ticket when the jackpot is way up there. It's more entertainment for me. I don't buy lotto tics regularly. Gambling is like going to the movies for me. Once in awhile its ok but it's not a way of life.
I saw the same report TOG did and two years is the average. No that is not the truth but some of them who do not handle it wisely go broke. There are some who have done quite well but they did not change their way of living and they invest it wisely. But I have heard some nightmares.
If you had $1,000,000.00 that safely returned 10% a year you could live a pretty comfortable life IMO.One million is ok but with the prices now that is not very much. That would take some really wise investing to try and multiply what you have got.
I do not know where that report came from but some sink but not all.You have to be smart and know how to manage that money.I saw the same report TOG did and two years is the average.
No sense of guilt from the lie hu?I won the lottery today, just thought I would stop and take a pic

I tried to give Jason 4 million but he refused it.No sense of guilt from the lie hu?
lol. I was at a home on the anchor I passed by that Maserati and I was thinking of these posts.I tried to give Jason 4 million but he refused it.
That was back in 1988, as I recall, and 1 Million had a fair amount of value back then.... plus, he's a smart man.One million is ok but with the prices now that is not very much. That would take some really wise investing to try and multiply what you have got.
Yes, they are. My friend even hired a financial lawyer before he collected the money. They soon moved to another state. If a person wins millions I think a couple of wise moves is to change your phone number and to move.Get a UPS or P.O box for your mail. They really are harassed.
