Re: a more sure word of prophecy

I didn't say that you did.. and I LOVE to share thoughts concerning the holy scriptures..

Is that a problem for you ?

Why would it be a problem for me? I share thoughts on scripture constantly. I just don't worship a book ,that's all. Is that a problem for you?

So I take it you don't worship the bible as greater than God either?

My cross isn't even a splinter compared to his. Glad to have been an amusement for you. Thank you sir, may I have another?

I can agree with that.. I don't get a lot of stuff you talk about.. ;-)

As usual, I'm sure it's all just semantics.. :-)

The problem is that you do share YOUR THOUGHTS on Scripture, but since you don't see the need to read the Scripture to find out what it says, you make up your "thoughts" out of thin air. As long as you throw out the word "love" every little bit, you think you've got it covered.

We don't worship the "Book", but the "BOOK" is God speaking to us. He doesn't speak to us any other way, except giving us peace when we have understood what the BOOK is telling us.

You can think what you want about me, but I see no reason to hide my thoughts about scripture. I rejoice in them. But don't expect me to agree with you that God only speaks through the bible. For my point has been from the beginning that someone had to hear from God to write it. And yes I think Love covers it. What's wrong with that?

Well here is how I see spiritual things, there is Love and the absence of Love. This is the same as the Kingdom of God and the Kingdom of darkness.

What you just said does not make sense...

Re: a more sure word of prophecy

What do you mean by, "love covers it." Covers what?? The Bible is the "word of God" It includes ALL of what God wants us to know about Him and His Grace given to a world of lost sinners...The Spirit uses that self same word to speak to our hearts and lead us to God's mercy and forgiveness...You ought not to be "minimizing" the Bibles influence...

Well glorydaz had said that I think Love covers it and I'm agreeing. Notice how you say "The Bible is the "word of God"". But the bible says "Jesus" is the Word of God.
then you say, "You ought not to be "minimizing" the Bibles influence". I never did minimize the bibles influence. You just think I did because I elevated the Spirit of God over the Letter. Why do you not ask yourself if you may be wrong by minimalizing God?

Why do you "separate" the word (Bible) from the Spirit??? The "letter" of which you speak, "is the law" The Bible speaks a lot about "the law" but, we are now "under Grace" the Bible speaks a lot about that too. Don't go around thinking you can separate the "word of God" from God Himself, they are "synonymous."

Well I think what is written in the Letter is an expression of the Spirit. And I agree the bible talks of both. But of course the point of the bible is to make a distinction between the Spirit and the Letter. That is how I distinguish the two. For one can read the letter but yet not know the Spirit. And indeed some people seek the Spirit through the Letter, but still it is the Spirit that they seek, not the Letter. I seperate the bible from the Word because the bible does.

John 1

1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2The same was in the beginning with God.
3All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
4In him was life; and the life was the light of men. 5And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
