Coronavirus

I'm not afraid of death ,if its my time ,no doctor, pray ,will stop it.I didn't hide in war ,panic ,I did my duties, watched war movies, joked, ran pt,ate, slept .

It will be no different here .

I wish and hope what you are saying comes true. (About May ending flu season and Corona)
But the thing about the equator isn't true.

Since heat wont kill it,and I,have had the Spanish flu twice ,lasted one month counting the phlem.

My asthma attacks are worse then that ,try puking phelm for hours with no,relief .

In,thar case I coughed of mucus.one man was hospitalized twice .

Yet per that link you imply we should. Iniiate Vornac ,and shut down air space .

Sars, nor the bird or pig flue died out.

Wait, what do you mean by there's a travel ban everywhere? Just everywhere in Italy or everywhere in the world? Either way traveling (or at least long distance) is a very unwise decision right now.
In Italy there's been a travel ban since the weekend.
This is due to the fact that 20,000 persons migrated from the red zone in Italy, which is the area of Milan and Venice and north of there....to go to a safe area in the south. Some even came to Liguria, a next regional neighbor, and also here in Tuscany. This has caused the virus to be spread throughout Italy. So, the govt is trying to stop this with this travel ban.

I cannot go to the next county unless for a good reason:
Financial
Food
Pharmacy
Emergency

This is a good idea and should last at least 21 days. We'll see.

As of right now....Italy has over 8,000 cases confirmed in different parts of the country.

Only 5 here and no new cases for over a week now. Probably because we got a big wall around us and small population.

5 cases out of 4.7 million population, but Italy probably has a way higher population and Europe has open boarders.

That is terrible. Praying for all the people there , and the safety of God's people, especially our beloved wondering and all her family
I heard a report that they expect it to peak in about 2 weeks time.
Thanks Tessa.
We're lucky to be up here in these here mountains!
However, one person, whom we all know, drives a cab and went into an infected city and brought it back with him. Now we have 4 cases here in my town. We're all hoping it stops due to all the extraordinary measures being taken.

This morning I went to the pharmacy. We had to wait outside in the open air. Stay a yard apart (at least) and wash our hands with gel before entering. (it was set up outside). Inside all the places now have glass/plastic barriers up between the customer and clerk. Everybody is upset with that guy...
I think the govt is taking the proper action.
I'm also starting to think this is worse than what we first thought.

That, isn't what they are doing .if live there ,and want to visit those that aren't infected ,you can. Hardly a concern ,like it sounds .
We lock down the beaches like that every hurricane after damage happens .

Panic .

Indeed.
Actually Jason,
We're NOT supposed to visit with friends.
There are a few road blocks here and there and cars are stopped to find out where they're headed.

So,then board up the world ,hide ,do go to church, out at all.here the average age in my county is 55 plus .we cater to retirees.

No,work ,don't pay taxes and watch how fast the state simply stops.
Even the cdc has said that banning out door meetings ,isn't going to work .

I,have literally watched ambulance place a few of my customers in body bags while I threw their paper .

Dead customers.
Mrs,dobek.
Mrs Chisholm,
Mrs liddick
The vet who killed himself
The person who I saw leave in a body bag but can't remember the name
Marjorie new jennings .

All in,that age category ,some are snow birds.so while I'm,for precaution ,everyone buying masks will help Spread it .

Tell me how is shutting down tourism gonna fund help here?

Also you forget in my stare its already in the edge of the heat ,I will start sweating balls by 0730 am.

Flu season is over by may. The corona virus will be killed by that too ,no cases near the ,equator.
Mass has also been suspended.
We do not have to make payments on estimated taxes or any taxes.
Bills do not have to be paid.
All this because persons are not allowed to go to work except for a few industries and if conditions allow - distance between person, no contact, etc.

It's serious.

P.S. No funeral at church.....service at the cemetary.

Are persons there auto-safeguarding themselves?
Here they weren't and this caused a problem.

The wife of the first guy that got this in my town went to the supermarket the day after he was hospitalized !

I'm glad the govt issued all these laws.
Wake these Italians up.

I heard Italy had a high proportion of Chinese tourists/residents. Ones who had visited Wuhan recently perhaps?

At the beginning there was a chinese couple in Rome that got sick...but they weren't patient zero. Patient zero was a man up in the North area, above Venice, but not sure how he got it.

Oddly enough, there's a Chinese community in a town East of me toward Florence, Prato, not one Chinese person there is sick! But they know about wearing masks and gloves, etc.

Your guess is as good as mine.
I doubt there is anyone here from Wuhan....we're a small place and it would be unlikely (but not impossible).

By small place, I mean there are no really big cities between me, Prato and Florence. Florence is a big city.

Thanks Tessa.

Wow this is bad
We are all getting updated about Italy on the tv. they filmed the queues you speak of. Glad you are in the mountains. I agree that your government is dealing with it correctly.
Stay safe sis.

Where Italy has reported no new cases...I don't think that is accurate. I think that they have stopped reporting because of the full hospitals.
John, on the news they just said that the dead are 759.
With 8,000 cases confirmed,,,that would make a rate of about 10%.
I also had heard that it was between 2 and 3%.

Keeping in mind that there is a large elderly population here since the young don't want any children. That would cause the rate to go up, I think, because more elderly folk get sick.

P.S. They ARE reporting the new cases...every evening at 6 p.m.

Yes, there are about 2,500 new cases reported in Italy today. Over 300 new cases in America today.

Now this is where what I've been saying gets scary...
12% of all cases are going to require hospitalization (what they classify as severe) with intubation and oxygen.
BUT if your hospitals are past capacity then the death rate increases because of a lack of hospital access.

Now today we heard that only 230+ died today.
From the website I linked to...I'll link again. It's not got any bias but it limits itself to official reports.

Scroll down the page to see the countries listed individually.

I didn't read the article but how do you figure twelve percent? Anyways that seems really little and 230 seems like a lot.

Welp, it's officially in my county. I'm not too worried honestly, but apparently people with diabetes (which I was recently diagnosed) are considered to be at greater risk if they catch it. Not sure how much that applies to me, cuz my immune system seems to be doing alright. But if I did catch it, I'm told it would make it very hard to manage my diabetes, as sickness messes with the body's ability to regulate itself.
