[__ Science __ ] Do Conservatives have a “Difficult Relationship with Science”?

We all just saw the demonstration of the scientist who are 5 masks and still was able to fog his glasses, which shows us that the droplets of his breath came through.
Actually, no. What went through the mask was water vapor, water in gaseous form. Which doesn't carry virus. It then condensed on the glasses as it cooled. It probably seemed like a clever deception to him, but if you think about it it's not all that clever.

Have you heard left wing liberals warning the public that only N95 masks are effective?
I haven't. But truth is, N95 work better than home-made cloth masks, which work better than dust masks, which work better than nothing at all.

If they were following the scientific facts, they would.

Well, let's take a look...

Effectiveness of Face Masks in Preventing Airborne Transmission of SARS-CoV-2
Abstract

...Here, we developed an airborne transmission simulator of infectious SARS-CoV-2-containing droplets/aerosols produced by human respiration and coughs and assessed the transmissibility of the infectious droplets/aerosols and the ability of various types of face masks to block the transmission. We found that cotton masks, surgical masks, and N95 masks all have a protective effect with respect to the transmission of infective droplets/aerosols of SARS-CoV-2 and that the protective efficiency was higher when masks were worn by a virus spreader. Importantly, medical masks (surgical masks and even N95 masks) were not able to completely block the transmission of virus droplets/aerosols even when completely sealed. Our data will help medical workers understand the proper use and performance of masks and determine whether they need additional equipment to protect themselves from infected patients.IMPORTANCE Airborne simulation experiments showed that cotton masks, surgical masks, and N95 masks provide some protection from the transmission of infective SARS-CoV-2 droplets/aerosols; however, medical masks (surgical masks and even N95 masks) could not completely block the transmission of virus droplets/aerosols even when sealed.

Its your choice to deny the demonstration the scientist did for everyone to see that even wearing five masks is ineffective.

You have chosen to deny the science.

You have willingly closed your eyes to the truth.

Thats on you.

Its Dr Fauci speaking.

You dont trust Dr Fauci?
Actually, that site lied about what Fauci said. So not very trustworthy. He never said he lied, for example, even though the site says that he did.

This wasn’t always the case. When the coronavirus pandemic hit stateside, face masks were strictly recommended as personal protective equipment (PPE) for health care professionals. According to Anthony Fauci, the nation’s leading infectious disease expert and a key member of the White House coronavirus task force, masks weren’t advised to the public from the start because of the anticipated PPE shortages.

Speaking on TheStreet, Fauci discusses how effective face masks are at preventing COVID-19 infection and why they weren’t recommended from the start. "Masks are not 100 percent protective. However, they certainly are better than not wearing a mask. Both to prevent you, if you happen to be a person who maybe feels well, but has an asymptomatic infection that you don't even know about, to prevent you from infecting someone else," Fauci said.

"But also, it can protect you a certain degree, not a hundred percent, in protecting you from getting infected from someone who, either is breathing, or coughing, or sneezing, or singing or whatever it is in which the droplets or the aerosols go out. So masks work,” Fauci added.

Its your choice to deny the demonstration the scientist did for everyone to see that even wearing five masks is ineffective.
As you see, he merely breathed water vapor though the mask which cannot stop gases. However water vapor can't carry virus particles. Your breath can fog a mirror the same way, without you releasing any droplets at all.

The gas condenses back into a liquid when it cools on the glass.

You have chosen to deny the science.
I'm just showing you the science. This guy is a fraud.

Why do mirrors fog up when you breathe on them?

When you breathe on a mirror, you are helping water move from a gas state to a liquid state. The surface of the mirror is a lot colder than the water vapor that comes from your warm human body. If you breathe on a mirror, you can easily feel that heat releasing into the air.

As water vapor in your breath reaches the mirror’s cool surface, the vapor droplets come together to form a liquid. When this happens, you can see thousands of super tiny liquid droplets form on the mirror: the fog.

Scientists also call this transition from a gas to a liquid, condensation. It’s the same process that helps form big, fluffy clouds in the sky, tiny drops of morning dew, or the water droplets on the outside of your cool water glass.

Condensation is when the atoms in the gas loose enough thermal energy to adhere to each other. They then become liquid water again. It's like the water that appears when you poor a cold liquid into a glass. The water vapor in the air cools enough that some of the water molecules dissolved in the air lose thermal energy and adhere together to form droplets of liquid on the glass.

The thermal energy of a substance is the sum of all the kinetic energies of the molecules in it, just as the temperature of a substance is the average kinetic energy of all the molecules in it. Kinetic energy being the 1/2 the mass times the speed squared of each molecule.

It’s actually Dr Fauci speaking, himself.

How is that lying?

Are you saying Dr Fauci himself is lying?

It looks like you are continuing to deny the truth.

You do understand what fog is, right?

If you wear five masks, and breath through them and a piece of glass fogs up, then the vapors are passing through the mask.

Surely even won’t deny that.

How is that lying?
Because the site said that Fauci said he lied. And he didn't say that. He said nothing at all like that. So we know those people are not honest.

You do understand what fog is, right?
Yes. It's droplets formed when the gaseous form of water condenses to liquid form. That's how that guy deceived people.

If you wear five masks, and breath through them and a piece of glass fogs up, then the vapors are passing through the mask.
Absolutely. But water vapor doesn't carry any particles, as water droplets can. So water vapor not going to carry virus particles. Even if they did, much of the water vapor condenses in the mask, which would still provide some protection. If you wear a mask for a bit, in areas of high humidity, you may notice that the mask becomes damp from your breathing. That's the water vapor being trapped in the mask. But as I said, it doesn't matter since water vapor doesn't carry virus particles (or any other particles for that matter).

That was the whole point of his deception; he assumed no one would think about that. Or maybe they wouldn't even know the difference.

And his deception was pointless, since even the best masks will let some virus particles through. Masks only reduce exposure; they don't completely eliminate it.

Edit: I may have been too harsh on him; it's possible that he really didn't know the difference between water vapor and water droplets. But I would think any physician would know that.

Nothing at all. As you learned, science does not deny miracles. This is why so many scientists are theists, mostly Christian.

Nothing at all. Whether these are miracles, natural phenomena, or allegories is not a concern of science which is open to those possibilities.

And you know why. You've already seen these answers several times, but for some reason you are unable to process them.

Nothing at all? Again, you're the one who said in post #(10) that "I don't see anything in the Bible that contradicts science."

And you said, "...it has come to recognize some things first seen in the Bible."

Now when pressed to prove your statement, you crawfish. You want to make statements trying to interpret the Bible through your science, yet you can't, won't, answer the most basic questions.

Again, per your statement quoted above, what does science say about the Virgin Birth and Resurrection of Christ. What does science say about the Flood, Joshua's long day, and Jonah and the whale? You said you don't see anything that contradicts science. What say you now?

Genesis 1:24, for example:
And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so. (my emphasis)

Genesis 1:20 God also said: Let the waters bring forth the creeping creature having life, and the fowl that may fly over the earth under the firmament of heaven.

Take it up with Him. He said it. I'm just showing you what He said.

No. You're not just showing what He said. What He said is not in question. Your attempt to make it agreeable to your science is in question. Science does not agree with the first three chapters of (Genesis).

Thus you must ignore the teaching of Scripture and try to center on one or two verses that you believe you can manipulate to your science.

There is no evolution in the Bible. God created everything after it's kind. (Gen. 1:11) (Gen. 1:21) (Gen. 1:24) (Gen. 1:25)

(Gen. 1:21) "And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth....."

(Gen. 2:19) "And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air...."

I do take it up with Him. No evolution is what He said.

But water vapor doesn't carry any particles,

So you are actually unaware that the “fog” that gathers on the glass when someone breathes on it contains moisture from that person.

This explains a lot.

As you see, it's water vapor (which can't carry particles) that then condenses on the cooler glass to liquid again. But of course, that doesn't spread virus.

And the mask issue, involving Dr. Fauci, is starting to veer off into the politcal, which we probably shouldn't be doing. I'm going to limit my comments to the research results of masks and protection from now on.

You are not showing the science. It’s plain as day our breath is an aerosol that contains moisture is a size droplet that passes through the mask.

All one has to do is turn on their TV and see the footage of hospital employees (doctors, nurses, staff). They are all wearing, at the minimum, masks.
