Do you cook with gas ?

The next time your house catches fire, tell the responders, "It's my responsibility! Put down those hoses!".

The next time? Sorry brother but I've never had a house fire.

If your car gets stolen, tell the police not to worry about it, it's your car and therefore your responsibility for getting it back.

Correct! So I strategically bought a 1995 model that has some surface rust and dings. Nobody wants to steal my truck! (They did get my catylitic converter, but police were not called in).

If you own a store and catch someone stealing your goods, don't call the police. It's your responsibility to get them back. Etc!

I had my own shingle out for 22 years (on top f the board) and never did call the police for help. Are you under the assumption that the police are there to help you? To protect you?
I accept the responsibility.

What happened to prosperity. We running out of eggs, we running out of beer because there is not enough CO2. I mean I remember when there were so many eggs people used to throw them at there enemies houses. Lol. Now a single egg is like gold.

Why was the report of banning gas stoves taken so seriously when the US Govt. CPS commissioner said this when talking about gas stoves ? “This is a hidden hazard,” CPSC Commissioner Richard Trumka Jr. told the outlet. “Any option is on the table. Products that can’t be made safe can be banned.”"

First, Biden came for your gas stove. Next, Democrats will come for your gas heater
From this link .

It’s good news that the Biden administration appears to have caved on its reckless gas-stove proposal, but not every Democrat is as easily persuaded.

Gas-powered stoves or other appliances and heaters powered by natural gas have been banned in new constructions in nearly 100 cities and counties, including in New York City and San Francisco.
New York governor Kath Hochul, a Democrat, recently offered a sweeping proposal to ban both natural gas heaters and all appliances, including stoves, in new buildings in the state. If the proposal is passed into law, the ban on natural-gas-powered appliances would begin its phase-in period in 2025. And starting in 2030, new natural-gas heating systems would also be prohibited.

Unlike with the White House’s recent plan, there’s no sign that most other Democratic proposals will be reversed anytime soon.

I'm with you. All someone has to do these days is say, "You know, I think we should look into natural gas emissions."
That would have been a great thing to say ! Biden should have appointed you a CPSC commissioner ☎️.

Well, golly gee.
I guess if it's legal it must be ok.
Great for the children involved and society in general.

Sam Harris is soooooo wrong.
Look, I'd love to talk about this topic more with ya, but its not for this thread. Many adoption agencies seek out alternative homes for children that are very hard or next to impossible to place. There is a reason it's allowed.

If it's not an outright ban and more about what can be built in congested housing, it's something we will just have yo watch and see the results...if it even happens.

Your premise is silly. Government doesn't make living more difficult. Without government there is suffering and chaos. And nobody is allowing government to be gods. That is just nonsense.

If that was the case then people trying to make a living wouldn't have to deal with government laws, this right here is a perfect example of big government making living for others more difficult. People are already struggling and this new law makes it even worse.

It's always wrong to go against nature.
Check out the suicide rate.
Good night.

You know M,
I don't have the energy I used to have which is why I stay off postings of this type.
I pass the baton on to you since you understand what's going on here.

Many, instead, lie themselves flat on the ground so as to make it easier for the roller that's coming to flatten them out.

That's the thing, I've spent too long arguing over the government's insane push towards EVs for the past 2 or 3 years. Yet these people haven't gotten at least the hint what they are doing is just destructive.

Now they went to gas stoves. Don't buy an gas vehicle or gas stove if you don't want it but allow others to do so. Bans of any nature is just ridiculous and anti free market.

I don't always have the energy to fight this either and that's the whole point. These people are on a one track mind and ignore any sort reasoning. They continue on with this nonsense even when the majority has already spoken.

But well it's all going to backfire with this excessive push against fossil fuels.. it's one thing to encourage its another to force it and deny that it's being forced.

It's the denying that bothers me.
It's the Not Seeing, the preference to stay unknowing that bothers me.

Maybe we should stop all flights?
Except the private ones, of course.

wondering that's the basic explanation. If someone gives you information or a problem they ignore it.

At the same time they can speak whatever problems gas stoves have and that's fine, long as it's truthful and there is no hidden agenda behind it. Still going to eventually buy a new gas stove. My new place will have a gas stove. And on a note California is a shining example of how politicians are out of control and the state will go downhill. Unless of course they are stopped.

The thing that gets me about making changes for the betterment of the planet is this when people say "but what if it's for nothing and we're all worried about something that's not even gonna happen??"
Mmkay, but maybe better safe than sorry. We are stewards of this planet and its life.

Then simply avoid modern amementies .

When it's all said and done.

Because of taxation the ev will not be less costly because they will loose alot on gas taxation .

You won't be allowed to use solar and not pay a franchise feee the state forces us to pay them locally and state wide .every type utility has that .

Then there is the we we gotta save the trees with plastic and plastic simply isn't recyclable .it was all along a sham.unless it's cardboard and glass and metal it get tossed.

No one would want say the tundras to be mined for rare earth.

Florida has large amounts of phosphorus that is anything but eco friendly.lithium mines are way worse .

To add to Free point an Tesla owner says her Tesla can't handle temps below 35 ,range decreases alot .
Imagine sitting in a car and you work like I di outside and you can't run the heat .
I have read meters in the low 20s . You also have engine heaters for both diesel and gas.diesel uses ,some have built in engine heaters for direct injection which don't need the glow plugs and that stops once the engine runs for a few minutes .say about five.diesel is a heat type engine .it burns hotter and also the exhaust removes heat as it coverts more into heat then gas .

And no my Nissan has 280000 Miles on it .my taco 176000.

Yes some people do keep cars .my parents retired a yota wagon with 50000 k on it .
