If you know how a grove is run, buying local can be safe too. Stuff in the supermarket is an unknown quantity. Handle with care.
These met the same standards .

Local growers up,to,the canker and greening did ship to overseas.hale groves was advertised by bob barker on the price is right .I can buy locally from,Natalie sexton, schact and Peterson groves.

My,wife buys honey from Peterson at times

It seems you have a lot of neat experiences =) I am sure things are a lot different now than they used to be =/
Most of which is gone .only three packing houses remain.I can't go like I used to to groves .my meter reading of electric took me to a few old groves .shells of them now.one is a farmer who sells organic called white rabbit

The best oj,pulp and seeds ,thick and seeds at the top, drink and spit out,the seeds. Takes getting used to but it's the best

this last one was a Chinese restaurant. it was my first time with my dad and brother eating at one. my dad remembered this when I had dinner with him and my sister and mentioned after I got out and asked me why I wanted it. I told him about kim chi and what that was and sgt Abdul moussa who made it for me and got me into Chinese for a season. I would eat at lin's garden, nanking garden. Chinese aren't known for sushi.

At least the memories are there. It is interesting how things change as we get older. Then we can pass along those stories and try not to feel too old lol.

.o.o helseth owned a grove within waking distance ,his house was a packing house .

I grew up on many of the places I mention .the helseth house was a pineapple grove packing house .it went south and axel helseth moved on .o.o helseth, waldo sexton and Arthur McKee started a orange fruit packing house which still stands and it was open as one up to 2 years ago .its not an easy one to photo in a few shots.it had a spur to the train .

But I will create a pano .its large and while that is the case the west side where the spur was isn't and I can grab that.I,think,I,will, grab a photo from the Oslo train stop sign.include as well .since the packing house is part of that .

Panoramic pictures are nice. Photography is a good hobby. My grandfather and father did photography. My father had his own darkroom to develop his photos.

Nowadays its mostly digital.

the bay doors when this 100 year old packing house was in use would be open during the season. I have driven by that from where I took that photo and seen people in their smoking out the bays.

The original Oslo road which I did see on a map .it went into st.Lucie county and way west .the current Oslo road .a bit widened from 43rd to us1.is itself old as that goes back to the 30s or earlier .Oslo road had a dock.the helseth family posted their maps of both Viking and Oslo .its how i got that o.o helseth house photo

The pineapple growers were helseth, hallstrom, kolblegard.the later was in Viking and hallstom just north and the helseths to their north .their were more into ft.pierce near what is now avenue d,originally edgartown, and across from it was one who then built a hotel after the first freeze.we celebrate the hallstrom family with Santa Lucia and pineapple is given out .also I have photos of that house .I remember Ruth .
