Does Eve Deserve More Blame Than Adam?

Again this for me has nothing to do with Paul. This is God's word. He (God) is instructing us.

No I don't see it that way. In fact I see him saying Adam was not decieved.....Adam was not tricked.....Adam deliberately sinned against God.
Somehow, your mind is able to block out what Paul and/or God said about how women are to behave as a direct consequence of Eve's actions in the Garden of Eden.

Don't worry. You ain't the only one with mind-block.

You ain't the only cherry-picker in town.

I ask too, should women be on here discussing scripture with men that are not our husband's? It seems sometimes all people bend even the rules that appear to be quite straight forward. Don't get any smart ideas guys we're to stay.....just sayin'. ?

Deborah: I guess Lydia in Acts had quite a bit to do with Paul, who wasn't her dh; in fact, it's not recorded that she had a dh.

:chin

Blessings.

"For it was Adam who was created first".........that's God pointing us first to created order

then he points to Eve's nature.

Created order and nature

blaming Adam alone is a mute point.

It is like blaming man alone.

It ignores the reality of the situation because the "ego" needs tolive above all else.

P31Woman:

Dunno, but I guess Priscilla seemed to have a pretty good knowledge of things.

Blessings.

Women were allowed in the syagogue but not in the schools. Teaching women was not something Jewish society at that time believed was of any importance. That does not mean there are exceptions to the rule and some men educated their wife at home.

I see God in the passage telling the Church women are to be allowed a full educated in the faith just as men are allowed.

P31Woman: Maybe so, but anyway someone like Priscilla seemed to have a good knowledge of the Jewish legal background of what Apollos was teaching.

Blessings.

I agree! That would mean either her husband or father "allowed" her to be educated. God tells us that women are not to be denied an education in the faith.

P31Woman: Interestingly, at the time of the Reformation in Europe, many of the most knowledgeable and godly people in the Scriptures were women.

Blessings.

Something I remembed from some of my old study.

"casting pearls before swine" was a common phrase in that day. They often used that when thinking of educating a woman.

This is something that I am remembering and my memory can be can be very wrong...........lol...... But I do think it's true.:wave

P31Woman: Interesting post; care to add a little to complete your meaning?

Blessings.

for a truth: Adam was told the Commandment, but he told Eve a perverted one, even the one she quoted; therefore, since he deceived Eve from the Beginning (a most sublte thing to do since she had no clue nor any reason to suspect she was being deceived), he deserves more blame.

to shay!....lol......I think the original story in Genesis has enough facts to clearly make out what happened, I would stand firm on the original story as to the facts of what occured in the garden

fact: Adam was with Eve at the time she ate the fruit.........end of matter

And I liked you so much! LOL

Was that the example God set for us in scripture? God used a woman to teach Paul! Timothy learned scripture form his mother and grandmother. Do you think when he turned 13 he stopped learning from them?

I believe Paul (God) is instructing the 'pastor" in the way a Church should operate.

When considering such things I enjoy looking at the Judgment of God. Yes, labor was increased for both man and women, men with regard to the soil from which he was made, and woman with regard to the pangs of her labor in bringing forth another type of "fruit," the fruit of her womb.

Still, the Promise was given to the seed of the woman. This speaks volumes to me.

I, for one, would be proud to find myself counted in the company of the "Church" and know that, in biblical terms, this means "her". The wedding will be held, the invitations are being sent, what remains is our putting on of the white wedding garment and taking our seats (in the back? so that we are not embarrassed or ashamed if and when we are re-seated) and the upcoming celebrations with the Lamb of God, the Groom, who has promised His return.

It is true what has been said, that God has shown the end from the beginning. By this we know that He is God. (see Isa 46:10, Ps 33:11, Proverbs 19:21, Isa 14:24, Isa 25:1, 41:4, 48:3, 53:10, 55:11)

I found this on a Kararite site...backs up what you say about a Jewish woman's schooling, preaching, etc....

http://kahana.hubpages.com/hub/Karaite-Women

the Kararites to this day follow only the written law the tanakh (OT) and not the oral rabbical laws
