Bible Study Does James 2 Teach Works for Salvation?

the church is not by any of them.
The church was founded on the fact that Jesus is the Son of God.
Verses refer to Peter’s person not Peter’s confession:

18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

Vs 18 Jesus changes Simon’s name to Peter.
Vs 19 Jesus gives the keys (jurisdictional authority over the kingdom) to Peter.
Vs Jesus give Peter the power to bind and loose.

Matt 17:27 Jesus identify’s Peter with himself.

Lk 22:32
Jesus prays for Peter alone.

Jn 21:17 Peter entrusted with the flock (church)

Eph 2:20 church built on Peter and the apostles not on Christ or on Peter’s confession of Christ!!!

Hmmmm

All I need to do is speak/pray, in the name of Jesus Christ.
It is written..."For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil." (1 Peter 3:12)
Prayer does not constitute worship!

Adoration:
Propitiatory atonement and reparation:
Thanksgiving:
And petitions are required

Also required are a temple:
An altar:
An ark:
A priesthood:
A sacrifice:

Try again spiritual anarchy don’t cut it!

Like this exhortation?
"Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame." (1 Cor 15:34)
Scripture yes!

The fathers (apostles) have care for our souls

That's talking about Jesus our High Priest, not Mary.

Hebrews 4:14-16
14Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to what we profess. 15For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who was tempted in every way that we are, yet was without sin. 16Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

I don't approach Mary for anything. I have access to the High Priest Himself. I don't need Mary. Nobody does.
Jesus is at the right hand of the father on the great white throne not the throne of grace, that’s Mary full of grace, all graces come thru Mary!

Yes, Paul includes grace! I've been saying this all along. A person is justified by faith in the grace of God's forgiveness...apart from works!
Maybe this would help

Redemption, Justification, Sanctification, and Salvation!

Redemption: 100 percent the work of God, thru the life, death, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus Christ! All mankind are redeemed in Christ! Eph 2
Galatians 2:16 3:13
Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law...
Christ alone accomplished the redemption of mankind apart from any works on our part!

(Redemption is not Salvation)
Rom 5:10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

Justification: our acceptance of redemption thru faith and baptism! Become a disciple and member of Christ and His Church! Jn 3:5 acts 2:38 Mk 16:16 He who believes and is baptized shall be saved. 1 Corinthians 12:13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. Galatians 3:27
For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

Sanctification: the life of grace applied to our souls in the sacraments, prayer, virtue and good works, the just living by faith, and faith working thru love! Phil 1:29 called to suffer with Christ.
All done in Christ thru His grace! Jn 15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

Salvation: a christian in the state if grace at the moment of death we enter into the salvation of the Lord! Mt 24:44-47 faithful servant! Jn 15:1-5 abide in me. Mt 24:13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
Heb 3:14 For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;
Heb 6:11 And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end:
Heb 4:14 For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;
Rom 13:11 ...for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.

Suffering required for glorification with Christ!

Romans 8:17
And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

2 Timothy 2:12
If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us:

Justification and salvation are not the same rom 5:9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

Paul talks about justification in regard to becoming righteous. That's the particular definition and usage of 'justified' that Paul is using. We know that from this:

Romans 10:3
3Because they were ignorant of God’s righteousness and sought to establish their own, they did not submit to God’s righteousness.

Philippians 3:9
9and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ,a the righteousness from God on the basis of faith.

It is a righteousness that comes from God and is given to a person for believing in the blood of God's Son, Jesus, for the forgiveness of sin, not given in exchange for doing righteous rituals and deeds, and so it is said to be given "apart from works":

Romans 4:5-6
5However, to the one who does not work, but believes in Him who justifies the wicked, his faith is credited as righteousness. 6And David speaks likewise of the blessedness of the man to whom God credits (gives) righteousness apart from works
Sacraments are not works!
They are God’s promise acts 2:38-39 ez 36:25

Jesus Christ founded the new covenant church for the salvation of all men! (Jn 1:16-17) Christ is the truth! (Jn 14:6) Christ and his church are one!
(Acts 9:4 eph 4:4 eph 5:32)
The church is the pillar of truth
(1 Tim 3:15) that must teach all men (Matt 28:19) without error guided by the Holy Spirit
(Jn 16:13) Thru the grace of God in the sanctification of souls applied in the seven sacraments!

Christ established the sacraments as the primary means of grace!

Sacramental life: Jn 1:16 And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace. Jn 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Christ founded the church for the salvation of souls!
Teach and sanctify all men unto eternal salvation!
Matt 28:19

Jesus is at the right hand of the father on the great white throne not the throne of grace, that’s Mary full of grace, all graces come thru Mary!
I showed you that the passage is explicitly talking about Jesus, our High Priest, and approaching Him for grace in time of need.

Christ is the source of all grace!
All grace comes thru Mary!
Cos Jesus came thru Mary!

What is the
New song of salvation!

Psalm 33:3, 40:3, 96:1, 98:1, and 149:1

Jesus founded the church.
The foundation was that He was the Son of God.
Just as it is written in Matt 16:16,18.
Make up scripture?
“The church is founded upon the confession of Peter that Jesus Christ is the son of God” this verse is not found in scripture or Matt 16

Why does Jesus “you” are Peter?
Why does he change his name?
Why does he say it is Peter who is blessed?
Why is only Peter given the keys of jurisdictional authority over the universal church and kingdom? (Isa 22:21-22)
Why is Peter is given power to bind and loose?

Peter’s person not a confession!

How do you give keys, power, and authority to a confession???

Thanks

Verses refer to Peter’s person not Peter’s confession:

18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, (Peter) and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

19 And I will give unto thee (Peter) the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

Vs 18 Jesus changes Simon’s name to Peter. (Peter)
Vs 19 Jesus gives the keys (jurisdictional authority over the kingdom) to Peter. (Peter)
Vs Jesus give Peter the power to bind and loose. (Peter)

Peter, Peter, Peter!!!

Not a confession but a person!

Grace was being written about since Gen 6:8.
Well before the Word took on flesh.

Was Mary around when Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord?
No.

You got that part right.
Jesus was born in a stable.
Does that make all stables extra special?
Jesus is the source of All grace Jn 1:16-17 all the grace received in the past were granted by God in virtue of the merits of Christ’s blood, passion, and death!

Lk 1:37

Mary found the complete salvation lost by Adam, a part was given to Noah Lk 1:30
Mary consented to our salvation Lk 1:38
