Bible Study Ecclesiastes, A Bible Study by Chopper & Reba.

Can you elaborate what that is like in regards to your experience. If that's too personal to say, I understand. Just need an example.

I understand this. :sad

My example is this. In 2009 I had an epileptic seizure at 70 mph on the freeway and I looked into the rearview and saw myself fading...I said Lord be with me. The Lord saved my life that day, though I suffered a broken back in 2 places.

That got me back onto the straight n narrow and caused me to become very serious about my walk to with the Lord.
Praise praise praise...:)
But my flesh life has been going downhill ever since (as prophesized)...
The details of that are irrelevant, but are those common to man.

Just yesterday I found that I had muttered to myself, I should have died on that highway...what a struggle Iife is now. I do hate my life now, pain, suffering, persecution, woe woe woe is me.

I've always respected Solomon's choice of wisdom & understanding so pray for it a lot...the connection between knowledge & sorrow is very clear to me. ..

But we have a lot to look forward to, praise the Lord!! :)

That sounds really tough :sad

You are strong.

It's OK though, these things must be for now according to scripture. Besides, it's how I know I'm on the right track. If the world was being nice to me, then I'd have a problem, lol.

How did John put it? I must decrease, He must increase. It's what keeps me going. We have so much to look forward too!

So often we fight the natural order of things ( God's order) The ebbs and flows of life... We can forget so quickly He has said I will never you or forsake you.. Seems we always want the UP side of life.. He does not promise us the up side ... He promises to be with us in the valleys..

Ecc 3:1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
Ecc 3:2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
Ecc 3:3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
Ecc 3:4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
Ecc 3:5 A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
Ecc 3:6 A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
Ecc 3:7 A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
Ecc 3:8 A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.
Ecc 3:9 What profit hath he that worketh in that wherein he laboureth?
Ecc 3:10 I have seen the travail, which God hath given to the sons of men to be exercised in it.

Hi Reba,

Do you mean this?

God didn't promise
days without pain
laughter without sorrow
or sun without rain.
But God did promise
strength for the day,
comfort for the tears
and a light for the way.
And for all who believe
in His kingdom above,
He answers their faith
with everlasting love.

Guess everyone lost interest...
Ecc 3:1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
There is a time to STOP and smell the roses and see beautiful things, AND TO KNOW God!

Mallards mate for life I watched these two one summer. They are sleeping, They sleep with their head under their wing.

YES it is a Dragon fly in FLIGHT. Stop to see beauty.

It is because I love GOD that I love nature. I love to get away from it all in nature and be alone with God. There IS PROOF for GOD. In the beginning God Created.. IF the world is here there must be a GOD!

Ecc 3:11 He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.
Ecc 3:12 I know that there is no good in them, but for a man to rejoice, and to do good in his life.
Ecc 3:13 And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labour, it is the gift of God.
Ecc 3:14 I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him.
Ecc 3:15 That which hath been is now; and that which is to be hath already been; and God requireth that which is past.
Ecc 3:16 And moreover I saw under the sun the place of judgment, that wickedness was there; and the place of righteousness, that iniquity was there.
Ecc 3:17 I said in mine heart, God shall judge the righteous and the wicked: for there is a time there for every purpose and for every work.
Ecc 3:18 I said in mine heart concerning the estate of the sons of men, that God might manifest them, and that they might see that they themselves are beasts.
Ecc 3:19 For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts; even one thing befalleth them: as the one dieth, so dieth the other; yea, they have all one breath; so that a man hath no preeminence above a beast: for all is vanity.
Ecc 3:20 All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again.
Ecc 3:21 Who knoweth the spirit of man that goeth upward, and the spirit of the beast that goeth downward to the earth?
Ecc 3:22 Wherefore I perceive that there is nothing better, than that a man should rejoice in his own works; for that is his portion: for who shall bring him to see what shall be after him?

I see Solomon saying So every thing is vanity just plain ol empty without God. God has given us our days so lets make the best of them.. Do what is right in the eyes of the Lord let Him sort them all out in the end... Rich or poor king or servant to dust we all go... Only what God does has lasting value...

I LOVE the dragon fly picture!

How and when will we be judged? Or is this just a general statement from the Law?

Angel my girl you know how to open a can of worms... :) Here are some of the Words of Jesus

Joh 5:25 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.
Joh 5:26 For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;
Joh 5:27 And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man.
Joh 5:28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,
Joh 5:29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.
Joh 5:30 I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.

"Joh 5:29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation. "

What is considered good?

Jesus laid us out a few 'commandments', said in different ways
Matt 5 his sermon on the Mt.
Mat 5:1 And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him:
Mat 5:2 And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying,
Mat 5:3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Mat 5:4 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
Mat 5:5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
Mat 5:6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
Mat 5:7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
Mat 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
Mat 5:9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
Mat 5:10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Mat 5:11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

Mat 22:36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
Mat 22:37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
Mat 22:38 This is the first and great commandment.
Mat 22:39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
Mat 22:40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

There are more then just those verses.. The good news is we are not alone in keeping 'His Laws" We are blessed to have His grace and mercy His forgiveness when we fail His Blood covers are sin...
We need to repent.. Personally i dont believe we need to list every sin we ever committed ... we could not remember them all... to repent means to turn... As you have in your life Angel... you repented, turned away from the streets and the hell they are ... The more we know of our Lord and His word the more repentive we are ,,, as we walk with Him He is our shield our comforter our safety ...
My guess is Chopper will have a few words on this...

But who then is my neighbor?

Zechariah 3:8-10
Hear now, O Joshua the high priest, thou,
and thy fellows that sit before thee:
for they are men wondered at:
for, behold, I will bring forth my servant the Branch.
For behold the stone that I have laid before Joshua;
upon one stone shall be seven eyes:
behold, I will engrave the graving thereof, saith the Lord of hosts,
and I will remove the iniquity of that land in one day.
In that day, saith the Lord of hosts,
shall ye call every man his neighbour
under the vine and under the fig tree.
