Enoch

We are getting off topic about predestination and being in heaven before we were born. Please start a new thread on that topic as any more replies will be deleted as being off topic. Thank you.

You are right, sorry. But Enoch did die. He did not go to heaven as some teach.

Where did you learn that?

Because, scripture says ...God took him so that he should not see death. That verse directly contradicts you.

If Enoch did not die, and he's not in Heaven, then he sorta has to be wandering the earth. Or maybe God set Enoch up in a nice cave somewhere...???

Oh wait, Enoch already lived in a cave for a long time. So why did God "take him" again?

If Jesus were to enter the discussion I’m very sure He’d say, “what is it to you where Enoch is? You follow me or where he is, you’ll never go.”

Those here that think Enoch is in the third heaven please explain to me what Jesus meant in John 3:13

Those here that think Enoch is in the third heaven please explain to me what Jesus meant in John 3:13

13 No one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man [b]who is in heaven.../

So do you think that no earthling has ever been taken up to visit Heaven, either in spirit or in the body?

Because the assertion that you have made would suggest that no one has ever been taken up. Unless there's something we don't know yet. And I heard entire too many testimonies where people have said they were taken up to Heaven or elsewhere to think that this would still be the case.

When Jesus said that in John 3:13, He had not finished His work on the cross yet. So maybe that changed things after His resurection. Because all those tesimonies can't be lies and there's too many to ignore, new testimonies like these are prolific and growing in numbers.

But, it doesn't say where God took him to so one can only speculate. God could have taken Enoch to a safer location since he was prophesying of what would happen to those wicked people he was speaking to as, like Christ, they probably wanted to kill him in order to silence him.

so I have had to tweak my doctrine a wee bit here and there from what I was taught in Sunday School.
Your doctrine??? Is it not Jesus doctrines that teach us. I could come up with many things in my own mind that makes sense to me, but yet not being of God and His word.

The Nt is clear--no one entered heaven prior to Jesus ascending after his death and resurrection.

That's right, I was speculating.

And you are speculating also. I don't think this is about someone wanted to kill Enoch. I believe is this about, Enoch was pleasing to God, so God took Him.

Enoch was kind of special. After receiving the knowledge of the Kingdom of God, he moved into a cave by himself and became a scribe. He dedicated himself to learning about the Lord. And God liked that, so he took him. This probably teaches us that with maximum dedication of following the Lord can get one, taken or promoted. God loves those who please Him and He always blesses them.

We all speculate on certain things, but then we dig deeper into scripture to seek knowledge.

Enoch walked faithfully with God, which reveals why he was so special to God as God sent him out to preach to others in the land of Mesopotamia situated between the Tigris and Euphrates rivers. Today this would be the areas of Iraq, Kuwait, Turkey and Syria. In this wicked period before the Flood, most men did not walk faithfully with God. They walked their own path, the crooked way of sin. Enoch did not keep silent about the sin around him as Jude says Enoch prophesied against their evil ways and the judgement that would come upon them.

In Jude 1:14-16 we read that those who Enoch preached to were very sinful people and Enoch did not keep silent about the sin around him as he prophesied against those walking after their own lusts. Jude says Enoch prophesied against those evil people and that would have made them angry enough to put Enoch to death.

If you read the Book of Enoch you will see that God translated him to many different places, but yet Enoch died.

Gen 5:23 And all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years:
Gen 5:24 And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.

Does not say where God took him so again, one can only speculate in a majority rule traditional teaching.

If everyone has noticed I deleted many post as being off topic, including my own. This thread is about Enoch, not Esau or if we were in heaven before we were born. I apologize for letting this go this far. Please keep on topic. Thank you.

Ok no more Esau.
But what is it that makes you think that Enoch was not taken to Heaven? John 3:13?

2 Corinthians 12:1-4
1 This boasting will do no good, but I must go on. I will reluctantly tell about visions and revelations from the Lord. 2 I was caught up to the third heaven fourteen years ago. Whether I was in my body or out of my body, I don’t know—only God knows. 3 Yes, only God knows whether I was in my body or outside my body. But I do know 4 that I was caught up to paradise and heard things so astounding that they cannot be expressed in words, things no human is allowed to tell.../(NLT)

So what was Paul talking about in this passage? Paul was taken up. And haven't you ever heard a Testimony about someone being taken up and get to see the throne room of God? I sure have. Everybody describes certain different little aspects of the throne room, but people being taken up (in the body or out of the body I do not know!) witness to being there. It's not just Paul, there are many others.
