Eternal damnation

You know where those verses are Tim you've been in every thread on these forums having to do with this subject, no need to double post them..

I don't need to argue with you. If Jesus actually said that there was to be eternal conscious torment in hell you would have posted the verses already instead of just making mouth noises.
Jesus said that the way is wide that leads to destruction. I believe HIM. That is enough. You can go now.

If there was such a verse you would have posted by now. You aren't fooling anyone. Now is the the time to post or get off the can. Which verse? Which verse?

Your eyes and brain have digested those many Scriptures on hell in the past.It is up to you what you do with those words.

Like i said go through your posts on annihilation you'll see oodles of them..

Get off the what?

Jesus absolutely did not say that there was to be eternal conscious torment in hell, and I think that you know that He never said that.
Timothy,
Why don't you just go back through the Gospels one more time? You don't have to believe anyone else.

And here I am the 2nd Tim agreeing with the first Tim. :lol

I don't have much more to add on this topic because Tim covered it well... the wages of sin is death. The only thing I can add is if there was ECT, then Jesus didn't pay the price for sin. In other words, If the penalty of sin was ECT, then Jesus would have to be in hell now and forever in order to take the punishment we deserve. But what did he do instead? Die. That's the penalty. Now someone may say that we still die, and thus did not take the punishment. Oh, but we rise again like he did. As a matter of fact we all rise. So now everything is "even"--- every man woman and child is back to being alive again. But then.... the righteous live forever, the wicked will die again (a second time) to stay dead this time.

Thanks Tim.
It is plainly obvious that there is no verse in the gospels that has Jesus saying that the wicked will be eternally tormented in hell. If there was such a verse, at least ONE of these good Bible scholars would have produced it. The other reason I know that there is no such verse in the gospels or in any other part of the Bible is that I have been through the Bible with a fine toothed comb looking for just such a verse and it simply doesn't exist. Lovethroughdove, that's good, but I'm sure you'll notice that it says nothing about eternal torment.

Get off the can. I called your bluff. Show your cards. Show the verse, if it exists. The verse where you claim that Jesus talks about eternal conscious torment in hell just does not exist. Give it up.

Timothy,

Show the verse where Jesus says the wicked will go to hell where they will experience eternal conscious torment. I have been through the gospels many times and Jesus NEVER says that. If you would just show me the verse you think says that, I won't HAVE to believe you, I will see it for myself. But NONE of you have done that. Doesn't that make you think? Don't you wonder why NONE of you can show ANY verse that you ALL say is right there?

I posted what Jesus was saying about someone being in conscious eternal torment.

Luke 16:24-26 cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire.' "But Abraham replied, 'Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, while Lazarus received bad things, but now he is comforted here and you are in agony. And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been fixed, so that who want to go from here to you cannot, nor can anyone cross over from there to us.'

Yes you did. You showed a parable where the rich man was in torment. But it wasn't eternal torment. And if you look closely at the parable you will see that the man's brothers are still alive at the time the man was in torment. So if this parable is taken literally, it still doesn't show the fate of the wicked after the last judgment. The scene in the parable doesn't take place after the last judgment, since the brothers are still alive.

Don't you think it is very telling that TOB refuses to show any verse would prove his point? I do.

Wrong, not one. If there was one you would have shown it. There isn't one. Face it.

In poker, the showdown is a situation when, if more than one player remains after the last betting round, remaining players expose and compare their hands to determine the winner or winners. To win any part of a pot if more than one player has a hand, a player must show all of his cards faceup on the table, whether they were used in the final hand played or not. Cards speak for themselves

IF there was such a verse, it would speak for itself. YOU CLAIM that Jesus said that there was to be eternal conscious torment, but you CAN'T show EVEN ONE VERSE that says this.

Enough of this.

Here are Jesus Christ's own words on the topic:
"The gate is wide that leads to DESTRUCTION."
"Fear the one who is able to DESTROY both body and soul in hell."

According to Jesus Christ Himself, The soul is DESTROYED in hell, it is not eternally tormented in hell.
