Kept by the Power of God !


1 Pet 1:3-5

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,

5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.


The Elect of God, those who have been begotten again unto a lively hope by the Resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

They are Eternally Secure. They are being kept Secure by the Power of God, through faith !

Now what this means is they are being kept through faith, meaning the Power of God is the reason why they are being kept through Faith, meaning the Faith depends upon the Power of God, and not the Power of God dependent on faith ! The Power of God is the active cause of the means of being kept through faith.

Its the same principle as when Paul told the gentiles that they stand by Faith and so boast not or be not high minded Rom 11:20

Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear:

And to stand by Faith was the result of God's Ability Rom 11:23

And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be grafted in: for God is able to graft them in again.

Also Rom 14:4

Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand.

So standing by Faith Rom 11:23 is the result of God's ability, the same thing as being kept through Faith is by God's Power and or Ability 1 Pet 1:5

Thats why Paul says in Eph 2:8 that Faith is not of ourselves, its a product of God's Power ! Thats why Paul told the Gentiles to be not highminded because of their Faith in Christ, because it was God's doing, His ability causing them to stand by Faith !

Ones Faith is dependent upon the Power of God, and so the Elect are being kept by the Power of God through Faith unto a inheritance Vs 4 for them which is also being kept for them by the same Power of God 1 Pet 1:4

To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved or kept in heaven for you,

So for all you who say a True Believer can be lost from the Faith, you are teaching that God's Power had failed to keep them through Faith ! That is Blasphemy !

So having faith is a required condition in order to be kept by the power of God. Therefore if one loses his faith he will no longer be kept by the power of God. For the verse does not say God's power keeps one unconditionally or apart from faith.

The first sinning action between brothers was when one killed another.

Doctrines that seek to not only kill, but eternally burn another brother in Christ alive forever on any basis is not only equal to killing, but far far worse. It is the worst form of hatred available in ones heart to another.

I see no reason whatsoever to get dragged into such views. They are not internally beneficial in the holders. They are in fact 'killing' sights within.

But of course the churches have been wrapped and warped into this kind of killing thinking for several centuries now.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that the list will go along the lines of the prior citing with a similar set of compliance requirements usually along the lines of 'you must believe and do exactly like Perfect Me.'

Perfect understanding does have it's requirements doesn't it, the first of which is to be Perfect.

That depends on what part of the bible (or vowel, or mere pronunciation) you think is " A psychopathological condition characterized by delusional fantasies of wealth, power, or omnipotence."

Even the thread starter, though posing as a thread about the eternal security of the believer is in actuality promoting self justifications through correct doctrinal constructs and the simultaneous eternal destruction of all other believers who don't have their own jots and tittles lined up exactly as he does.

Again, quite sad, really, when theology comes to that. It has little to do with faith in God in Christ and everything to do with 'only Perfect Me' having the correct jots and tittles and everyone else, not. So off with their heads or to the gallows they go.

In the ways of God however such often end up hanging by the gallows they make.
