Familiar with Hanegraff?

I'm sure I will still listen to his programs at times. I just cannot bypass what doctrine there is.

There are a lot of really nice, wonderful, people who believe in all kinds of false - I mean really false - doctrine. They have great fellowship with each other, and lots of 'love'.

There just has to be a certain amount of discernment when you deal with things like this. Even more so when they are teachers of such things. I won't judge him on his choices, but I will judge what I hear come from his mouth based on his choices.
he is true blue just some of his beliefs are different . much like all the Churches the A.S.O.G are different than the UPC though the doctrine of tongues is close to the same. you have a leg length of different baptist each one is different so he is not a false teacher

Over the years I've had seasons when I'd listen to a lot of The Bible Answer Man and seasons when I didn't. I haven't listened in a while, but I have always appreciated the way he could articulate himself. He methodically and calmly punched holes in cult theology.

One thing about him. He's always been very consistent about separating salvation issues and non-salvation issues. He's always stressed that we can have differences within the Church that don't need to divide us. We should take the same approach with his move to Eastern Orthodoxy. He's still on "our side".

I enjoyed listening to him years ago, haven't since.
But I was leery of anybody who dared to call himself 'The Bible Answer Man'.

I consider it ignorance at best, and arrogance at worst, to think one can call himself the Bible Answer Man. If there's one thing every Christian should know is there is always something you do not know in the Bible. No matter how much you know.

We should take the same approach with his move to Eastern Orthodoxy. He's still on "our side".
I personally find it incredible that a Spirit-filled person would sit still for liturgy. But I know the right thing is to allow the possibility. I just ain't one of them.

With some of the hateful and vile things he has said about people I know personally, in a few cases, and the disgusting things he has said about people I don't know, but still respect, I have serious reservations about just "whose side he is on."

Different strokes for different folks......to-may-toe....to-mah-toe..........po-tay-toe...po-tah-toe.......alright I'll stop now......:rofl2:hysterical

One of them annoying eschatology doctrines that is severely limited here is one of Hank's beliefs.
Where I understand his belief and why he holds it...I just can't share in it. I think that he has been blinded to it...And that blindness is always a curiosity to me. Everyone has some kind of blind spot. I look for mine but...I'm blind to it. And it's very frustrating.

How do you find what you can't see?

You feel for it. Seriously.

Yessiree, Brother. You sure do. It's a good practice to look to the unseen and try to see it. It's what we're told to do in scripture, in 2 Corinthians 4:18. That's using our spiritual senses. I've practiced it some. It seems a lot easier when I close my eyes because then I'm not distracted by the material world...

While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.../

Acts 17:24 (ESV) 24 The God who made the world and everything in it, being Lord of heaven and earth, does not live in temples made by man,

Acts 17:25 (ESV) 25 nor is he served by human hands, as though he needed anything, since he himself gives to all mankind life and breath and everything.

Acts 17:26 (ESV) 26 And he made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined allotted periods and the boundaries of their dwelling place,

Acts 17:27 (ESV) 27 that they should seek God, and perhaps feel their way toward him and find him. Yet he is actually not far from each one of us,

Now, that's a good scripture! Amen, Brother!

Mark 1:15

At hand, is as close as the air we breath.

How do you find what you can't see?
Humility. That's how.

Calling yourself 'The Bible Answer Man' is hardly how one sets himself up to see what he doesn't even know that he doesn't know yet. Perhaps this arrogance explains his denominational shift.

His nickname wasn't something that he gave himself. Others did. He just allowed it to be used as a marketing campaign.

He is articulate and studied and makes clear, concise answers using the full blend of arts and sciences to formulate answers. (One of the few). You can't get there using a lot of pride.

True humility doesn't ignore your God given talents. It requires you to use them.
Eastern Orthodox Church isn't "out there" theologically speaking. It's rather obscure in street understanding by the layman. But actually is rather conservative and highly well intentioned. Many of the truly studied find their theological positions rather refreshing and with merit.

They ask no one to shave their head and drink the koolaide.

I find that this church is often filled with people of poor understanding of what the particular denomination holds to just as much as any other denominations.

People tend to choose churches based upon friends, comfort, and locations. Few choose based upon actual theology and "fruits".
Hank does so for his beliefs and gets crucified for it. He stood up for what he believes and is willing to pay the price. I find his actions admirable. I may not share in all his beliefs but that isn't relevant. They are minor issues that some people make into majors.

Makes me think of the old country song;

You got to stand for something, or you'll fall for anything.....

Just walk with Jesus everyday and he'll show you what he wants you to see.

That's very good.
God set about a way to find him.
Where in Scripture does he say we will find all our weaknesses by feeling for them?

There have always been Bible answer men.
He was not the first nor will he be the last.

Now Daddy didn't like trouble, but if it came along
Everyone that knew him knew which side that he'd be on
He never was a hero, or this county's shinin' light
But you could always find him standing up
For what he thought was right
He'd say you've got to stand for something or you'll fall for anything
You've got to be your own man not a puppet on a string
Never compromise what's right and uphold your family name
You've got to stand for something or you'll fall for anything

Now we might have been better off or owned a bigger house
If Daddy had done more givin' in or a little more backing down
But we always had plenty just living his advice
Whatever you do today you'll have to sleep with tonight

He'd say you've got to stand for something or you'll fall for anything
You've got to be your own man not a puppet on a string
Never compromise what's right and uphold your family name
You've got to stand for something or you'll fall for anything

Now I know that things are different than they were in Daddy's days
But I still believe what makes a man really hasn't changed

You've got to stand for something or you'll fall for anything
You've got to be your own man not a puppet on a string
Never compromise what's right and uphold your family name
You've got to stand for something or you'll fall for anything

You've got to stand for something or you'll fall for anything.
