Familiar with Hanegraff?

Now Daddy didn't like trouble, but if it came along
Everyone that knew him knew which side that he'd be on
He never was a hero, or this county's shinin' light
But you could always find him standing up
For what he thought was right
He'd say you've got to stand for something or you'll fall for anything
You've got to be your own man not a puppet on a string
Never compromise what's right and uphold your family name
You've got to stand for something or you'll fall for anything

Now we might have been better off or owned a bigger house
If Daddy had done more givin' in or a little more backing down
But we always had plenty just living his advice
Whatever you do today you'll have to sleep with tonight

He'd say you've got to stand for something or you'll fall for anything
You've got to be your own man not a puppet on a string
Never compromise what's right and uphold your family name
You've got to stand for something or you'll fall for anything

Now I know that things are different than they were in Daddy's days
But I still believe what makes a man really hasn't changed

You've got to stand for something or you'll fall for anything
You've got to be your own man not a puppet on a string
Never compromise what's right and uphold your family name
You've got to stand for something or you'll fall for anything

You've got to stand for something or you'll fall for anything.
What's the song?

No, not me, Willie T.
He may turn out to be the next Bible answer man.
Why, everybody says I'm just a big ol' pussy cat, and agree with everyone.

That's very good.
God set about a way to find him.
Where in Scripture does he say we will find all our weaknesses by feeling for them?
God is truth. Those who seek find, those who knock the door will be opened.

His nickname wasn't something that he gave himself. Others did. He just allowed it to be used as a marketing campaign.
Which is only one step down from giving the name to yourself.
It's still a rather arrogant thing to do.

True humility doesn't ignore your God given talents.
Correct, it hinders them.

He is articulate and studied and makes clear, concise answers using the full blend of arts and sciences to formulate answers. (One of the few). You can't get there using a lot of pride.
A gift is a gift. There's no denying that. It's where one's gift leads people, that's where the potential problem lies. I enjoyed very much listening to him on the radio 15 years ago. In fact, because of his systematic approach to scripture I thought his book about Revelation was going to be so profound that it would finally put an end to the ridiculous teachings out there about the end times and would usher in a new enlightenment regarding that subject. Not so. But not because he doesn't know what he's talking about, but because the world is too big to be taken as a whole by any one teaching, IMO.

But even with all this being true I was always guarded in my opinion of him simply because he had no problem calling himself the Bible Answer Man. Like I say, any one who knows better, and is a little humble, knows there is always something you potentially do not know about a subject. Why does a gifted and learned man like him not know that???? That's why I say he is either arrogant, or he does not yet know that there is always something out there that we don't know about that an honest and humble person has to be ready to say, "I don't know" to.

What if...
He actually didn't write his book?
Like Joyce Meyer actually writes hers? LOL (hint:she doesn't)

What if siding with the Eastern Orthodox gets him out of a job he never wanted to fill to begin with?
What if....

Kind of intriguing when we know that Paul didn't write his own books, and likely, others too. After all, a lot of these men were just fishermen by trade.

Paul was either nearsighted or had the condition most "over 45" people do of their arms being too short. Either way he may have had someone else pen the writing (as paper and ink were really expensive) but he dictated it to his calligrapher. That's obvious.

And as far as Joyce Meyer actually writing her books. It's impossible. The number of books she published in the amount of time she had them published in dictates that impossibility. Probably at least two different professional ghost writers employed full-time to write, make edits, proofread and more edits, cuts, additions, deletions says it is that way. That along with Joyce's promotional, speaking/preaching tours, Congressional hearings, lawyers meetings, antique shopping, construction projects on her grounds, and other meetings for radio programs says she didn't have the time. (Said by the husband of a professional writer)
Where she likely read the books and possibly added and or made content suggestions she flat out couldn't have written the books. It's a too long and involved process. Even one per year by a professional writer is exhausting. (And even they have professional"helpers")

Paul was sitting in a jail cell without much else to do but think...And he was a highly talented person. Joyce is a radio preacher. Always was. To be a professional author of theological books too is a bit of a stretch.

I personally know theologians who write research papers and books. They are leaps and bounds above Joyce's intellect. They have issues with public speaking and preaching (unlike Joyce) but oh yeah...Leaps and bounds.
