A piano is not more or less Christian that is a gun. Those are things. Christians are people.
In Jesus' day the gun was a sword. Same thing.
A hymnal isn't Christian. It's something Christians use.

Here's what's terribly wrong with your analysis:

one can severely restrict sexually abusing children, even ban it....and the sexual abuse of children will still happen, and the perpetrators involved could die as a result (this has happened), or are permanently injured (this has happened)...

If abortion is the killing of innocent human beings (it is) is doesn't matter one ounce if a woman dies as a result of illegal killing a developing human (if abortions were illegal). The fact that women will die isn't a reason to keep it legal to kill unborn human beings. That's a similar argument to making child sexual abuse legal to make sure nothing bad happens to the rapists.

Culture, by your argument in Japan and those states your right to unlawful search and seizure isn't the same as in the u.s. .also the fact that your ignoring the high rate of knife attacks in those countries.

Allen Wynne you must have realized you were presenting a controversial opinion. Your response to opposing points of view seems a little over the top. You have your opinion about owning a gun. Great. If you're going to take the next step of criticizing gun owners who want to protect their loved ones, you are really setting yourself up for a backlash.

This is one of those topics that scripture can be used to support and refute using a gun in defense of yourself or your family. I personally don't see anything in scripture that clearly forbids use of force for defensive measures in proportion to the level of threat. If someone does not feel they are being convicted by the Holy Spirit not to own a gun for defense of family, I cannot see chastising them for it.

You say we should place our faith in God; not guns. Would you apply this reasoning to taking medication? What about having a recommended operation? Does your willingness to accept these interventions indicate a lack of faith? I don't believe they do.

Neither You, I nor any other will ever stop evil. there are nations all around the world that refuse to allow their peoples to defend themselves with a gun and yet I have never hear one of the anti-gun proponents use their decreased murder rate as a reason to base our national policy on... makes one wonder.

I'm against guns. I don't think they are Christian, unless you are a hunter for food or live in the wilderness for protection against wild animals.

How about protection against thugs, murderers, rapists, arsonists, rioters, etc.?

I just support the right to bear arms.
But that's a worldly thing, not a Christian thing.
