There are plenty of false 'Christs' in our day such as José Luis de Jesús whose followers tattoo 666 to themselves, Maitreya, and Jesus of Siberia who has written another of many false gospels. False prophets such as Joseph Smith and Benny Hinn have lead people astray.

Prophecy picks up faster each day, more so since the rebirth of Israel.

The United States has become a nation of promiscuity and simply puts Christianity on as a guise.

Rumors of War happen now, more and more this past century and during this current NK Missile crisis. We now have possibilities of nuclear wars. (Zechariah 14:12?)

Is it true that fault lines have been found at the mountains that are supposed to split at the feet of the LORD?

Or is this just normal every day findings?

Since Jesus said that no one knows the day or hour, does that mean watching for signs is a redundant thing to do? Why give signs?
Just because Jesus told the people of his day that no one knows the day and hour does not mean that we won't know when it is near even within a few days. He gave us signs and even said that he would return AFTER the tribulation of the last days...so to be specific maybe we won't know the exact day and hour but we will know within a few days. You asked why give signs. So we will know when he is return is near. Is Jesus coming back tomorrow? No. Is Jesus coming back within a few years? No. Don't believe me? Just watch and see.:-)

There will come a time when one can know pretty close...

Rev 11:3 And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.

Rev 11:7 And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them.
Rev 11:8 And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.
Rev 11:9 And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and an half, and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves.
Rev 11:10 And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth.
Rev 11:11 And after three days and an half the Spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them.
Rev 11:12 And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them.
Rev 11:13 And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven.
Rev 11:14 The second woe is past; and, behold, the third woe cometh quickly.
Rev 11:15 And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.

Now this leaves us knowing within 3-1/2 days. are the 3-1/2 days their bodies lie in the streets contained within the 1260 days? Or are they the 3-1/2 days immediately after?

Just for the record. I am not speaking of sacrifices of any kind. What I am speaking of is Strong's 8548 tamiyd - the continual fire.
This is the fire that is used for daily sacrifices at the Temple. But I believe Daniel is being very specific here because he was speaking of the continual fire that must not be put out. This fire was put out when the temple was destroyed in both Solomon's and the second Temple. It remains put out till this very day. There simply is no continual fire today. That fire was put out for it's very last time when the second Temple was destroyed by the Romans. Then later on a Mosque was erected on the threshing floor of Jehu in place of the Holy of Holies. The Mosque causes the Lord's Holy Mount to remain desolate of his Temple. Hopefully this helps explain my position and better yet my Biblical Timeline which is linked in my signature. I was never speaking of sacrifices. Perhaps I was not clear enough before.

Question....
When you say "end times" are you referring the "last days"?
Are these 2 expressions synonymous in your mind?

Question,

Has anyone considered that the 'temple fire' was a type for the full restoration gift of the holy spirit, since it was shown as tougues of fire over the believers?

It does not occur to me that that is what Daniel is talking about. I call that a "reach". :)

Edit: But ... I feel you on the whole metaphysical thing :)

For sacrifices to be performed do we need that continual fire?

As far as what I feel about the signs, well, it's something that I feel isn't worth a disproportionate amount of my time to study, so I'm no expert on it. I don't mean that to be belittling of those who have become experts on this by any means or to say it's not worth studying.

There are, from what I can tell, NO EXPERTS on this subject. I am 53 and became a Christian in 1977 and I have lost count of all of the predictions of the end... every one of them was WRONG.

Experts? It's easier to find a credible expert on what the weather will do next YEAR ....

All that the fake prophets and predictors have done, is discredit the very idea of an "end times".

Are you attempting to tell me that those who committed suicide to get on the Hale-Bopp Comet were wrong? Oh the humanity of it huh? :shame

Whatever CNN and the newspapers may say from day to day, I believe that the church needs to be looking for the Lord's coming for His people, rather than to world events, and meanwhile continue to serve Him faithfully in the loving gospel to sinners.

I think it's necessary to distiguish between the Lord's coming for His saints at the rapture, and His coming with them in power and glory on the earth. Following through the various references and emphases in the New Testament, they are clearly distinct.

Also the tribulation principle needs to be distinguished from the Great Tribulation.

For the church now, however, it's a case of 'Even so, come Lord Jesus', and we meanwhile seek to serve Him by His grace.

According to whether one believes in a rapture. I do not.

We are not in the "end times" nor the "last days". Consider the "time element" in the following scriptures which talk about the "last days"
Heb.1:1-2
Acts2:15-17 (quoting Joel 2:28-32)
1pet.1:20
1pet.4:7
1john 2:18
Heb.9:26
1cor.10:11
Math24:3,34
Here we have 3 apostles stating that the "last days" the "last time" the "end of a things" and the "last days" was a period of time in which THEY lived. Read the above scriptures carefully and in context and you will find this to be true. The "last days" the scripture speaks of was the last days of the Mosiac age, the age of Judiasm. The Jewish age ended in 70ad when the entire mosaic economy was completely destroyed, "every element of that system was dissolved by fire" (2pet.3)
This is even true of the OT references to the "last" or "latter days", they all point to the ending of the Jewish age in 70ad which was the "day of the Lord".
Even Jesus, when he was asked when the "end of the age" would be (math24:3) told them that "the end" would come before that generation (this generation) has passed (math24:34)

The "last days" referred to the "end of the age" which Jesus said would come within a generation, and it did. This is very simple. We are so confused when it comes to "end times things". All the above scriptures were written prior to 70ad and their immanency reflects the immenent end of the jewish age which Jesus prophesied in 30ad and which came to pass 40yrs later.
We are not in the "end times"/"last days". The Kingdom of God was "set up" in the "latter days" just like Daniel the
prophet said it would be (dan2:28-44). There were only 4 kingdoms mentioned in the "image" (v40). The last kingdom was the Roman Empire. It was in the days of Rome (the last days according to Peter Paul and John) that the Kingdom of God was set up.
It's because of our "futuristic concept" of the last days that we add a 5th future kingdom to Daniels image that is not even mentioned in the text. I'm telling you, once our concept of the "end times" changes we can begin to come to the "unity of the faith" concerning the mystery of Christ and the gospel of the kingdom.
There is much more to say, but I would like some thought on what I have stared already.
Remember, look at the "historical time element" of these "last day" scriptures, we need to understand what time it is...my brothers, I promise you that we are not in any "end times".

According to whether one believes in a rapture. I do not.

John:

It simply refers to being 'caught up' in 1 Thessalonians 4.17.

But whatever we may claim to believe or not, as the case may be, the references can be followed through.

Blessings.

depends on how you see this. I see it as a part of the first resurrection at the return of Christ. The dead rise first, then those alive and remaining are 'caught up' into the clouds. Not a rapture to escape the GT. The GT is over when this happens.

So there are two 2nd Comings???

So there are two 2nd Comings??? Goodness that makes no sense at all!

Acts 1
[9] And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.
[10] And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;
[11] Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

Yet, who believe the two angels?
