Are you a reasonable man Robert? No doubt you will agree the Bible does not contradict itself, so you accurately quoted 1 Jn 2:2 and Hebrews 2:9 which shows he died for all men. Another version even goes as far to say this: he should taste death for every thing. Since the Bible is not wrong, and does not contradict, what does this mean? Does it mean that salvation is for everyone, or does it mean that salvation is available to everyone Robert? If you are going to refute me, you will have to do it with scripture. 1 John 2:2 says that Jesus has atoned for the sins of the whole world. This means that salvation has been provided for everyone, Hebrews 2:9.
BothThis is a leading question in many theological circles.
Does Jesus save us by doing something in us? Or does Jesus save us by doing something totally and completely outside of us?
according toIf Jesus could have saved us by doing something in us, then the incarnation of Jesus Christ was worthless.
He made us with A will for a reasonGod could have sent his Holy Spirit into the world and caused unbelievers to be born again, no physical Christ would have been needed. Does this mean that all holiness religions are anti-Christ? What do you believe about that?
I think that the term saved has been punched into one litle filter. It is very apparent that Jesus saves us by doing something totally and completely outside of us.
this scripture is truePaul wrote, "But God commended his love towards us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us" Romans 5:8.
maybe to you....But scripture tells us to be transformed by the renewing of the mind. Now, if you believe that Jesus saves us by doing something in us, then you are going to have to delete that scripture from your Bible because it does not make sense.
One is reconciled for fellowship....As if you and your wife made up. You made up to kearn to live in harmony with each other. Here is another one. "For if when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life" Romans 5:10.
Yes but to read it and know it are 2 different things. We know what we have when we walk in it.Think about this. While we were sinful enemies of God, Jesus had ALREADY reconciled us and the world unto God.
2 Corinthians 5:18, 19. The Gospel is a past historical event.
Yes ,Jesus is the way, He is our salvationBefore we were born salvation had already been provided for us,
Depends...if you mean by accept, to believe the Father concerning His son with intent to follow. Or like the believes but does not follow.Hebrews 2:9. Our acceptance of Christ and his Gospel is not really what saves us.
Again His blood shed, reconciles us to God as to have fellowship and remain in Him.....We were already saved by the doing and the dying of Jesus.
I would not take the scripture out of ContextWe have already been MADE complete in him, Colossians 2:10.
the word belief has changed over time, so depends what you think it means. All that we have to do is accept it and believe it.
Where, if We look at context we can see what one is actually being saved from.Paul makes it clear that if we are to be saved salvation must come to us totally and completely outside of us.
the scripture is true, not sure of how you are interpreting .It has in the work and the person of Jeus Christ. "God was in Christ reconciling us and the world unto himself" 2 Corinthians 5:18-19.
Only a real blood and flesh Jesus can do that.
I was just thinking about something that I wish someone in my Sunday school class would have answered. If Jesus could have saved us by doing something in us, then the incarnation of Jesus Christ was worthless. God could have sent his Holy Spirit into the world and caused unbelievers to be born again, no physical Christ would have been needed. Does this mean that all holiness religions are anti-Christ? What do you believe about that?
Hebrews 6:4-6 says that it is impossible. Impossible means that it is not going to happen. Matthew 7:13 is a description of religion. "The broad way" and many there be that go that way. Jesus has reconciled the whole world unto God. But nothing is ours until it is received by faith.
No doubt you and both want this: 2pe 3:9 [The] Lord does not delay his promise, as some account of delay, but is longsuffering towards you, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. Why would God put this into the Bible if Jesus' sacrifice provided salvation for everyone Robert?
If you understand those verses correctly, how can Heb 6:4-6 or Mat 7:13 be correct, or even mentioned in the Bible?
Why would God send Jesus to destroy those who do not know Him, or obey the gospel sir if all had salvation? 2 Thes 1:6-9
I believe that if you understand that not all are saved through Jesus' sacrifice, but salvation is offered to them through that sacrifice, you will find the Scriptures that speak about Salvation do in fact harmonize and do not contradict. Please do not consider me rude, just hoping to help in understanding Robert.
Jesus does not save us by doing something in us. Salvation is totally and completely outside of us and is only found in the work and the person of Jesus Christ. Both
according to
He made us with A will for a reason
I think that the term saved has been punched into one litle filter.
why can't He save us by giving us his life, (as he did)so that we can be also saved from the circumstances of this world and the works of the world, Satan and the flesh as we live by His life.
this scripture is true
maybe to you....But scripture tells us to be transformed by the renewing of the mind.
That is definitely in us.
One is reconciled for fellowship....As if you and your wife made up. You made up to kearn to live in harmony with each other.
Yes but to read it and know it are 2 different things. We know what we have when we walk in it.
Yes ,Jesus is the way, He is our salvation
but the question is will you be saved (delivered by Him)
As the Ark was Noah's salvation- deliverence but if He did not get in the ark, and remain in the ark until the flood subsided He'd be dead with all the rest.
Depends...if you mean by accept, to believe the Father concerning His son with intent to follow. Or like the believes but does not follow.
Again His blood shed, reconciles us to God as to have fellowship and remain in Him.....
Why? because Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil. HE DIES AND RECONCILES US TO GOD SO THAT WE MAY LIVE BY HIS LIFE.(SPIRIT)
WHEN WE LIVE BY HIS SPIRIT AND NOT OF OUR NATURAL ABILITIES OF WHAT WE DO ON OUR OWN ..THIS IS THE WAY WE OVERCOME THE WORKS OF THE DEVIL.
Eternal life can be given to you now....by having fellowship with God and His son when you live by the Holy Spirit. For eternal life is to know the father and the son. The term know is liken to how Adam knew Eve. They had an intimate relationship.
So reconciliation is because we were dead in sin but made alive together with Christ.....For God is not the God of the dead but the living.
But we want to go on to remain in His teachings.
For to walk in Love is to walk in His commands.
That way you can have the promises given to us that are in Christ....(meaning as we have fellowship with Him.)
God told Abraham to walk before Him Blameless and He would make a Covenant with Him. With that said God was behind him to pick up the slack......So if this is how He would make a Covenant with Abraham then how do you suppose we enter into the promises made to Abraham who is the father of faith.
Point being many times when we look at salvation from our up bringing we have a one set mind view. Another words we are reconciled by God to also be saved-delivered,protected,etc from things, people, and circumstances of this world we now live in.
The whole key is Life...we need to get life into us now...That is why He came, that we may have life and have it more abundantly.
I would not take the scripture out of Context
the word belief has changed over time, so depends what you think it means.
the faith or belief that saves is a belief that intends to act.
Where, if We look at context we can see what one is actually being saved from.
the scripture is true, not sure of how you are interpreting .
Yes sir absolutely correct it is not gonna happen. So it is best to be on that narrow road, and be among those who do receive that gift of life.Hebrews 6:4-6 says that it is impossible. Impossible means that it is not going to happen. Matthew 7:13 is a description of religion. "The broad way" and many there be that go that way. Jesus has reconciled the whole world unto God. Jesus is the narrow way that leads to life. Unfortunately, few there be that find it. Matthew 7:14.Yes sir absolutely correct it is not gonna happen. So it is best to be on that narrow road, and be among those who do receive that gift of life.
We are justified by faith, which has to be in us, or we are unjust, until faith is in us.Jesus does not save us by doing something in us. Salvation is totally and completely outside of us and is only found in the work and the person of Jesus Christ.
Catholics and other religious people believe that they can participate in their salvation by doing good works. Paul said, "By the deeds of the law (what you do) there shall no flesh be justified in his sight" Romans 3:20.
Because you were born after Adam and are still in your unredeemed Adamic body, Romans 8:23. You are a sinner. God does not accept the works or the obedience of sinners. If he did, that would make him a sinner. God only accepts the works and the obedience of Jesus Christ. We are accepted only in him and because of him, Philippians 3:9.
I am gathering you have a distaste for that word sir, as I actually believe that you are able to define the word, and realize that all Christians belong to a religion. Almost all unbelievers belong to a religion as well. Any organization that has rites and rituals of veneration is by definition religious.Jesus is the narrow way that leads to life. Unfortunately, few there be that find it. Matthew 7:14.
What most have found is religion. Religion is appealing to the flesh.
Jesus claims to be the savior of the whole world, 1 John 2:2.Are you a reasonable man Robert? RELIGION: Man's preoccupation with his own spirituality, which is himself who is a sinner.I am gathering you have a distaste for that word sir, as I actually believe that you are able to define the word, and realize that all Christians belong to a religion. Almost all unbelievers belong to a religion as well. Any organization that has rites and rituals of veneration is by definition religious.
There is also the revealed obedience of faith.Jesus claims to be the savior of the whole world, 1 John 2:2.
This means that Jesus as the new Adam and representative of the human race has provided salvation for everyone Hebrews 2:9. However, nothing is ours until it is received by faith, Ephesians 2:8. It is a free gift from God. Many refuse the free gift of salvation by trying to earn it through works and obedience to the law.

And he is Robert, every single person who receives salvation will receive it through his sacrifice.Jesus claims to be the savior of the whole world, 1 John 2:2.
I would say that that you are correct on that as well sir. Why do you think that Christians obey God's commandments Robert? It is a free gift from God. Many refuse the free gift of salvation by trying to earn it through works and obedience to the law.
Ignorance of words in our day is a choice sir. No doubt because of the fruitages of people who claim to serve God that word has taken on a bad connotation, similar to cult. Yet your understanding is not the meaning sir.RELIGION: Man's preoccupation with his own spirituality, which is himself who is a sinner.
CHRISTIANITY: God's work for us in Jesus Christ.
Christians don't obey the commandments. No one does. Trying to obey the commandments will make you a hypocrite. And he is Robert, every single person who receives salvation will receive it through his sacrifice.
I would say that that you are correct on that as well sir. Why do you think that Christians obey God's commandments Robert?

No my friend. A hypocrite just thinks he's better than others.Christians don't obey the commandments. No one does. Trying to obey the commandments will make you a hypocrite.
No my friend. Paul said this because Jesus showed mercy, instead of putting to death those who were sinning against him. This is why Paul said, "Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to those that believe" Romans 10:4.
