how the aussie settle arguments

Man, having a tail is so great for martial arts. They can do a mae geri with both legs at the same time. I mean, I could do that too, but I'd land on my butt painfully.

Also, man, Aussie English is impossible to understand.

they don't kick very high. its weird how they know and lean back like that and aim and hit without seeing the target, just feeling the touch and fire away. I know grappling one can do that but a kick and punch? its a bit harder to do that. that said, medina used this video for an example. the ranges which he didn't discuss. we just saw the choke part. mae geri(front kick for the layman ) isn't the same as you do it. Its not down with the ball of the foot but the heel and its more like a push kick. I that can doth both but have mastered the karate on that is more like a front thrust kick and I like that one. alas medina wants us to work on the thai version. which is ok, a front kick is the same in application no matter. but that is so easily swept and caught and if I see that happening to go to more snap kick. timing and the set up is every thing with kicks.

Lol you watch kangaroo fights in your mma class? That's awesome. If I ever get to Florida remind me to visit your mma class. I have no idea about mma (well, I guess my mae geri looks alright lol) but that seems to be a fun class.

I never liked using a mae geri in a fight. Many do that and they do alright, but the ball of the foot has a lot of fragile bones. Kicking a static target in training or a partner that does a foreseeable defense move is another thing. But in an unpredictable fight situation using balls of the feet to kick seems like a very risky idea.
Just tried doing a front kick that hits the target with my heel, that ust feels wrong. :lol Plus isn't there some risk of overstretching your knee if you do it that way?

no, I have used the front kick in a kick boxing match. it works, the opponent won by points but he respected my front kick. he learned that mine was better then his. :) I prefer the side kick. that said, the bones aren't that weak, I have broken 4 plastic rebreakable boards and wood with that kick.

Hey Claudya and Jason, owyazgarn, orright? (who said Aussie is hard to understand?)
Kangaroos don't actually kick high, they raise their feet to kick downwards. Their middle toe has an elongated claw which is very sharp and very strong. There have been a few cases over the years where people who muck around with the big Western red males and even the eastern greys have quite literally been gutted by them, with a couple of deaths that I know of. When I lived in Oz, we lived in a very remote fishing camp and had a young orphaned joey we looked after, he used to crawl into our bed under the sheets and push down with his feet like he wood in his mother's pouch. He got me with that claw more than once and it was not pleasant especially being caught you know where...... Roos will also get you in a headlock and bite the heck out of you and scratch you up too. But they don't attack people for the sake of it.

For the record, roo tail stew is unbelievably delicious as is slow roasted roo rump..drooling now...hmmmmm...... Nakhon Ratchasima zoo has a couple of kangas...surely they wouldn't miss one
