And remember all, although we should not smoke excessively, even Godly people have been known to smoke on great occasions. An example is right here in the bible regarding Rebekkah:

And Rebekah lifted up her eyes, and when she saw Isaac, she lighted off the camel.

They were popular cig's back in Isaac's days. Wow. What a woman! :-D

 That was as good as the patches not staying lit! Thanks for the morning chuckle before church. GBU

Kudos Him,

Heya Jeff~

Praise God for the time away from things for you and your family, I pray it was truly a precious time for all of you! Welcome back to the boards . . . we missed ya. :smilecolros: Did you get a tan, or catch a "big one", or place a flag atop a high summit?

Carol,

All my praise to Jesus for doing yet ANOTHER glorious work in you my sister dear. :smt038

Its a transforming kind of thing aint it? :scatter:

Now we get to ask for your beautiful witness of Jesus in this delieverance, you are gonna be shiny gal! With bea-U-ti-ful FEET! YEAH! :rocol: bonnie

Bonnie you're a nut girl! You know when God answers prayer and you've tried and tried to quit and can't, and to humble ones self through public confession before brethern, is a very hard thing to do. I didn't know if I would be reacted to by condemnation or lifted up in prayer. It's where you have to trust Jesus when the Holy Spirit speaks to you and tells you this is where your help is at. I prayed for the Lord to help me, to give me christian fellowship/support. Sometimes things are hard to do on your own, but it's amazing how God will place brethern in your life in a great time of need to support your deliverance with prayer. People I could not do this on my own, I tried and tried and failed. It just goes to show you the power our Lord left in us when you see/ know where you were and how brethern brought you out of it with victory, and glory to Jesus. It is very humbling to watch it all in action. Before I had tears of anguish and frustration trying to quit. Now I have tears of joy that brethern stood in the gap for me, and now I can say "I QUIT". Here comes the tears again....

This is for anyone who comes here:
People I can't stress what a great group of people that are here in this ministry. They have such loving hearts when it comes to teaching God's Word, supporting you in prayer with such wonderful godly advice from their hearts. They've made me feel like family here.....truly you're among the Body of Christ here. And what's funny is when you quit smoking it's almost like you lost a friend, but what was wonderful is that every single time it would start to get me down alittle, especailly when those twinges hit to smoke, and everytime someone would put a funny on that would make me laugh my butt off and then I realized how our Lord would have these brethern here standing in the gap lifting my spirits with laughter and the joy of the Lord was there again to lift my out of that despair. Believe me there were times I almost needed a bed pan for my chair they would have me laughing so hard. This group of people here are just wonderful, understanding, encouraging, loving/kind, love to teach with patients and humor at times and always serious in the Truth of God. What I'm trying to say.....stay, no matter what your relationship is with Christ, no matter what you've done, this is the place for healing and deliverance with lots and lots of Christ love and hope. God bless all of you for such wonderful mercy and grace. I love you in Christ, and one day you will know my heart and truly know what you've done for me through Christ and HIS love. And I by choice said good-bye to that so called little group of friends of mine in a pack :smt025 , but I got to say that void has been filled with a much better group friends here! Hey at least this group of friends here don't give you cancer and kill you. Well unless you're in the line of fire with the shoot em up smiley faces. :onfire: :o

Kudos HIM,

Hey Blazin Bones maybe we should do a poll on a scale of 1-10 on the "Mean Kitty" song!!! Up for it? You can even bring the blazin shoot'em up smiley faces! Check out the Mean Kitty and the witch doctor.....it is so funny. I think that I laugh so hard cause the guy that plays the witch doctor reminds me of my brother Billy, he'd do something stupid like that for a laugh. But once you're there, you'll find the other Mean Kitty blogs.....they're pretty good. Peace! :Fade-color

ha! Hey Carol, looks like that cat could use a Chill Pill :-D (Click on the link  )

All I need now is a vacation from my vacation 8-)

te he he ha ha That was good....chill pill DIFFINATELY! "chilloprinin 256" Hey thanks for the new site to go too. I really enjoyed the Jeremy Camp video blogs. But the one that got me bad was My Redeemer Lives about Hoyt. After about 3 paper towels for my eyes and nose...hey I was fine! :smt022

And you know that's one thing I noticed too. I went to the beach last month with the girls for a 4 day vacation and came back, and needed another one from the vacation....I was exhausted! I didn't get no rest, aren't you suppose to rest on vacation? You know whine down, relax, get a way from it all, come home refreshed.........not!! :smt047

However, I cannot see where any addiction to anything is not sinful, for we are not to be mastered by anything but the Master Himself. If one is addicted to smoking, wanting to stop but totally unable to do so, then the smoking has passed from liberty into license and is indeed sin. This goes for any kind of addiction though, not just smoking.

Completely agree. It is a Christian liberty issue and I don't believe any Christian should 'judge' another for smoking. I am a non smoker and hate smoke etc and don't understand why anyone would smoke or start to smoke in this day and age but its nothing to do with Christianity.

The only thing I see is your body is the temple of the holy Spirit (I could be flippant and say I don't think the Holy Spirit would like a lungful of smoke but I won't  ) but in the same way then it is just as wrong for people who are obese and diabetic and have health problems because of that. Or people not taking care of their bodies as God has given them to us and our life has a purpose it would be horrible for it to be cut short and not accomplish God's purpose for our lives.

But God does use the situations we are in for the good of Him despite us sometimes, maybe an obese person would only listen to the gospel if an other obese Christian could have empathy for them etc same for a smoker etc.

1 Thessalonians 2:16 Forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they might be saved, to fill up their sins alway: for the wrath is come upon them to the uttermost.

Well, lemme tell ya.............I'm going to say what I have to say, and hey, as we say in the neighbourhood, va ------- if ya don't like it. :fadein: I have found that Christians of certain theological bents to be the most narrow-minded berks I have met. Even as a child(I grew up strictly around adults) I spoke my mind, and haven't stopped yet. And plan on no changes in the immediate future.

On the topic of smoking- I smoked for over 21 years, selfishly. I quit back in Oct. of 2003 and have been smoke free ever since. God made me realize that My body was His temple and that He didn't want anything going into my body that wasn't meant to be there, (no cig. smoke, no alchol)etc. As christians, all of our bodies are Gods' temple-He resides in us & we in Him we belong to Him, he wants us clean and pure. I quit by drinking Ice water and cranberry juice for 3 days- (not all at once , all day long) but as needed. I was smoke free in 2 weeks. I can honestly say I don't miss smoking . Hope this helps those who want to quit smoking.

I don't believe smoking and drinking are sin issues. It's healthier not to smoke, and there is nothing wrong with having a drink in moderation(I do neither). For me, it is a non-issue.

Join the club! I've been banned from 2 so-called "Christian" sites for talking about God! Personally, I think it's just pure ignorance and lack of love.
