In Today's News

only because we subsidize their pharmacies by creating all the drugs that they use...

Here's the thing. Ailing Americans can't afford to subsidize the entire world. The US sick are too sick to put in the overtime needed to pay many times what others are paying for the same meds.

...NATO is basically United States by its Lonesome...

Indeed. However, the 2% are no longer willing to subsidize the world's most expensive military. The US poor don't have the resources to take their place. The entire defense budget is basically borrowed, which is not sustainable in the long run. On top of this, the 2% want another tax trim.

...regulatory capture...lobbyists...

Yes, that is the case. Lobbyists drive prices to the moon via monopolies/oligopolies (license raj), and bankers do likewise via currency debasement. A double whammy.

Regulatory capture and bank central planning are gradually turning the US into a banana republic. When we had free market capitalism, the US used to produce half of the world's GDP all by itself. #1 by a fantastic margin. Now we are in 2nd place using PPP, and moving backward. Central planning via bankers and lobbyists is substantially responsible.

An honest currency, and free market capitalism (competition) might help to return the US to first place. It would be a long road back though.

Half time and the game is a complete mess. I can't even call it rugby, both sides are playing ridiculous, well more France making dumb errors.

Half time

France 12
USA 6

I highly doubt most investors would spend thr amount of money to research drugs without any chance of return.its much easier to simply hand out pentobarbtyl ,research is costly for that field ,eliminate the fda,or reduce ,good luck ,with its favortism.not, that there's isn't greed.

Of course not, but US sick still can't afford to subsidize the entire world. That's not how free markets work. When you buy a Toyota, you pay about the same amount as the rest of the world does. Everyone in the world pays Toyota's research and development costs equally. That's how free markets work.

Toyota like all car makers per federal regs doesn't need to research or design safety .they all use th three companies

The drug makers are Bayer,Pfizer, astray zenica.they all do more then just pharmacy .Bayer researches both pharmacy here and also citrus canker ,greening.

Imagine a blight killing off all corn . or a hurricane natural disaster ending most farms that do feed us.

Hurricane the insurance adversion to actually take risk is something I know.the state is paying both citrus and cattle father's for losses.

Either way we will pay to it .I highly doubt I can lawfully build a model a without permissiom from,Ford, yet with drugs ,generics that is allowed .

Hey everybody, welcome to another edition of today's news. :) Well we have a very short report today, but before we get started I wanted to share a very interesting piece of news that I just found out today even though it originally was shared in the summer. For apparently the loveable yellow sponge that lives underneath the sea is getting an all new spinoff television show. :chin

And a three year old little girl from Tampa Florida drowned after her floatation device slipped off and she fell underwater. :sad Here's more of the details and may you rest in the arms of Jesus little one. :halo

Also speaking of Florida one fifty-nine year old Florida man is currently being accused of sneaking around his neighborhood and tampering with electric scooters. Here's more on the story. :nono

Finally in today's news a (stupid) New York woman recently put herself in terrible danger after she climbed over the safety barrier and into a lion enclosure and started taunting it. Here's more on the story. :nonono (Seriously! I don't think that you can get much dumber than this. :rolleyes)

That's all for today's news! Enjoy the rest of your day and stay tuned for more news to come. :yes

Hey everybody, welcome to another edition of today's news. :)

I'm glad the police caught that vandal, and kept the people safe. They should install security cameras to monitor the scooters.

Toddlers should be monitored very carefully when they are in a pool.

Silly thing to do, climbing into that lion's den.

May the Lord bless you.

Florida man a generic term, for idiot who makes news

Oh okay, got it now.

I agree with everything you said, may the Lord bless you as well, and somebody should tell that woman that Daniel didn't actually choose to be cast into that den of lions.

1) The point I was making is that the USA does not have free market capitalism. Regulatory capture by lobbyists has resulted in de jure monopolies that charge Americans monopoly prices.

2) The research thing is sometimes just a ruse to distract people from monopoly pricing. Consider the generic drug Acthar. It has been off patent for a very long time. The company currently selling it didn't invent it. They just bought a monopoly (license) to manufacture it, then charge monopoly prices. $8 per vial in Europe and $38,892 in the USA. Come on. This is a ridiculous burden to put on American parents with a sick child.

3) While medical research is a good thing, putting the entire burden for funding this research on sick Americans is not. They can't afford it. Many Americans are doing without their meds because of the fantastic prices that no one else in the world pays. If everyone benefits from medical and agricultural research, everyone should pay equally.

Do you believe that the insurance should charge more for being unhealthy ?
Old ,if so thats not free market as to force them is not free enterprise .

No one really wants that ,yet the socialist countries do it.we have no problem with life nor car insurance if one has a high risk but yet not so with health insurance

Btw we do indeed subsidize car makers .taxes given to the pruis, and electric car makers

Ruse ,like those cars aren't exactly green nor cheap ,despite the tax break and subsidizes they loose.

That said. I have issues with gun pointing to force me to fund a a farmer who I never buy from or seldom .I don't consume citrus much .
