In Today's News

Well if they are living at home they are not homeless. We were talking about meeting the homeless basic human needs of clothing, food etc.

Then don't. But realize this thinking is the problem in our society. Would you take away help from people who need it because of some immoral people that abuse it? Lets come together and solve problems is instead of stereotyping and dismissing them.
We've only lived here in Honolulu for a few months, but it is shocking as to the number of homeless here. There is the well known tourist image of Hawai'i, but there is another darker side where the homeless are chased from park to park and beach to beach. The local media portrays them as criminals.

Pay them to leave .

Pay them to leave .
Most homeless have underlying mental issues and qualify for benefits, but the government and corporate America have instituted an insidious little plan whereby any beneficiary must have a bank account so benefits can be direct deposited. Banks will not let a beneficiary open an account without an address. Catch 22.

It's about soul searching and letting the past go. I'm starting to learn that. Coming to acceptance in life.

Yeah I know .however I personally won't allow trespassers. Many of derelict home photos do have drifter.some might used as a drug house that I have seen.there's no,easy answer .

Some are violent and how does one know that one isn't a violent one ?

A facade for walls ,it can be boring or creative and many colors.its slung on the surface and then smoothed out.in my photos I posted on the other thread ,the two story building has stucco

Alright then so what's a facade? Even though I looked it up I still don't understand it. :confused2

Do you not realise that there is no such thing as ending "homelessness" and/or "poverty"?.
Yes, but I have never said that. That should not preclude us from helping homeless that want/need help.

I tell you, there are many homeless people who do not want to live in a home, they have there own community and if you offered them a house to live they would refuse the offer. I put a homeless guy up for 3 nights where I live and the next morning he split. He had a bed, tv, kitchen, toilet. He wanted out, he was more comfortable on the street with his homeless community and friends.

Welcome to the real world of Knowledge.
Then go ahead and don't help. Just don't get in the way of people christian or atheist that are helping.

I live in Honolulu in the late 90's and the homeless was an issue then. I now live in Ft Worth and the homelessness is a problem. When they built the new Cowboys stadium instead of using any money to help the homeless they just rounded them off an dropped them off in a other part of the city and made them stay away from the new stadium. It was sorry.

Makes you wonder what percentage of the rich got rich dishonestly.

What we’ve been finding across dozens of studies and thousands of participants across this country, is that as a person’s levels of wealth increase, their feelings of compassion and empathy go down, and their feelings of entitlement, of deservingness, and their ideology of self-interest increases.

Sorry guys,.. the news is going to be delayed today. There is an issue going on right now that is leaving me extremely upset and I'm really hoping that it'll be solved soon. Sorry for the inconvenience. :sad

Nothing wrong with helping those who need it. I'm just over homelessness being generalised. For example I have no compassion for a young person who has disrespected and dishonored there parents and ran away and lives on the streets. Go home. You parents are worried. On the other side someone might have ran away to flee abuse and lives on the street because they don't feel safe anywhere else, this person needs help and I have compassion.

Agreed, no easy answer.

I completely understand but we must resist hardening our hearts. Christ warned us. I was a lock-stock sold out conservative and had absolutely no compassion. How wrong I was.

I am under the opinion that most of the rich got wealthy at someone else's expense. After what happened to my family, I've seen no end to what others will do to people for money.

Hey everybody, welcome to another edition of tonight's news. :) I am SO sorry about the fact that this report is a lot later than I originally planned it but it is rather lengthy so I'm just going to go right ahead and hop to it! :boing (Btw, for the record I'm feeling much better now!! :biggrin2) Oh yeah and I hope that everybody had a wonderful weekend as well. :yes

First of all in today's news here's an update on the man who overslept and missed jury duty.

And a Texas man was struck by lightning during a thunderstorm that occurred yesterday while he was walking his dog that caused his shoes and socks to be blown off his feet. Here's more of the details and my thoughts and prayers go towards him. :pray

Also a billy goat broke into one home in Ashland County Ohio on Friday afternoon and was discovered in the bathroom. Here's more on this rather interesting and humorous story. :lol

And also one Italian restaurant in Pennslyvania isn't crawling with insects or cockroaches, but instead it seems to be crawling with,... ghosts?? Here's more. :lol

And a puppy was miraculously found alive in a pile of rubble one month after Hurricane Dorian. Here's more on this amazing story. :)

Also a recently released video shows a deer crashing into a salon in Long Island New York over the weekend. Here's more of the details. :eek

And also there's currently no explanation for why a tornado siren went off late Friday night in Walton Hills Ohio. Here's more of the information. :shrug

And six elephants including a three year old calf died from what appears to be a rescue attempt gone wrong. Here's more on the story. :sad

Finally in tonight's news a group of scuba divers from Key Largo Florida participated in an underwater pumpkin carving contest over this weekend. Here's more of the details. :biggrin

That's all for tonight's news! I hope you all have a wonderful rest of the night and God's blessings on you. :biggrin2

While that is possible ,the government ran by the people is also just as bad.

1. One has to sue the state for your hard earned disability benefit rather then allow the doctors to simply be taken at their word ,of course a reasonable means against fraud should exist but how is it that money is so easily given to illegal immigrants who truly can not be verified ?
2.same with the va
3.medicare,taxes you pay ,then on top of it ,not including disability statement made already ,simply underfunded ,mismanaged and taken again from you.
4.ss underfunded because they either take from it and don't buy bonds on top of the other issue unrelated ,political football.left wants it but won't really fix it,the right which I agree it should go because the fact its s pay as you go it must go.I can and do save more then I will, get in,short this alone needs a thread.
5.the local and state levels will shaft the poor to maintain x political favors.see ft.Lauderdale ,a liberal bastion vs the 90 year who fed the homeless on the beach and numerous cities whereby yes the homeless can be problems but s,license to feed the poor?
6.subsidising the movie and sports industry from basic necessities or by direct funding but not helping the poor.both parties guilty

I'm not for the state helping as its proven to incompetent and Medicare and as,and the aca are taxes.anytime any new program or wage law starts the fact is the problem is created.
