In Today's News

Obviously the President of the United States cares about the Time Person of the Year Award.
I like a young person getting all active in a cause. It’s better than getting an early start on being a lifelong couch potato.

Awards should go to people who have actually achieved something.

Awards should go to people who have actually achieved something. That little girl is just a radical extremist climate activist/actor, and when asked questions she has no answer. She could not even answer basic questions about her cause, and she turns up days late for climate change meetings so shes not very punctual.

No script she has no idea. She needs to get an education.

Biggest fail ever. She's a child and should be at school.

As a sixteen year old she may not have the control of things to allow for getting to different places around the world a business person or politician does.

She has Asperger’s Syndrome and I think that can result in what looks like less polished communication skills to some people.

I don’t believe people apply to win this award. She has been doing her thing and was chosen. To me that calls for rationally criticizing Time if one disagrees with the choice and not addressing the sixteen year old in a patronizing way as the President so immaturely did.

Well she seemed to have no problem flipping out while reading a script, and it makes me sick, and I think it's near child abuse that they would place a young girl with a condition on a pedestal to push some political climate change agenda, as it's clear from when asked questions without a script she was completely lost and had no idea. Why they would do that to a child with a condition and throw them in the middle of the political world of wolves with no experience is beyond me.

I haven’t read or seen much about her and probably wouldn’t have been aware of her at all except for an immature man’s problem with her.
I don’t know who is putting her in this position. I could see myself encouraging my child to pursue a cause if they felt strongly about it.
Let me ask, if you hear of a sixteen year old anti abortion activist would you be bothered so much by that?

Learning can be fun. Nice that she got a degree at 80.

That rascally squirrel. Leave people's packages alone.

I'm glad people were able to rescue that dog and woman. Quick thinking.

May the Lord bless you.

I agree with everything you said but just because learning can be fun, it doesn't mean that it is fun. That part to me always depends on what is. Of course you can always make it fun. :)

I enjoy learning by understanding. Its fun to puzzle out how things fit together. I don't like memorizing long lists.
Never became a meter reader ,a machine guides you but it doesn't exactly tell you locations and which house to start at .

But they do have robot meter readers, lol.

That's what I have at my house, except for electric. One meter calls home every hour. The other they drive down the street and read them from the vehicle. Electric still has a guy coming up my driveway to read it. I say hello to him if I'm outside when he comes.

If they read like that might as well physically read it ,saves no money .

They could be driving a route out ,I do that .

Its much faster. One person can drive several routes since they don't have to get out of the car. Its all done by computer. The driver just drives.

I still say we don't need any extra taxes. The entire population can be covered for what is spent now. Just forget about expensively feathering the nests of lobbyists. They do it for half the price in the entire rest of the first world.

Welcome to another edition of tonight's news. :) I don't believe that we have a very long report to do tonight so let's just go right ahead and bounce right into it! :boing

First of all in tonight's news a Texas woman was shocked to discover that she had more than thirty million dollars in her bank account. Here's more of the details. :mouthdrop

And find out why an ad on Craigslist is currently pulling at some heartstrings. :crying

Also a Florida man that was discovered partially eaten by an alligator in the summer actually died of a Meth overdose. Here's more.

And also a team of salmon farmers recently rescued an eagle after it was caught in a death grip by an octopus. :thumbsup Here's more on the story. :clap

Finally in tonight's news authorities in Sacramento California are currently searching for a woman who pretended to be psychic and stole about one hundred thousand dollars. Here's more on the story. :nono

That's all for tonight's news! Have a wonderful weekend and God's blessings on you. :biggrin

Saves no money ,why have a meter reader when fully long range commo grid is doable.my,job would pay me plus millions for those type meters .

Versus .50 cents per read .

Those types break .my mother being county has that type it no longer works .so they don't replace it and they have to read it .

They ,have billing cycles ,today's ,yesterdays was 19,reading 22.it has 6.

Using your argument would only condense it to one or two days, check reads might still be needed, especially that cycle as I catch homes having leaks often plus turn on or off .they must physically open the lid.and read and turn the valve ,the city of port st.Lucie went to full smart water meters .they got rid of their readers.no driving at all ,cut on or off by a signal plus reads.
