What would you do?

You live in a complete dump and you see a tree that is blossoming and prosperous and free but is blocking your view. I would respect and admire the tree.

Some speeches or responses to events just touch a chord. Words can be powerful. For many Americans, and quite a few people outside America, Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address resonates and inspires 155 years later. It was a speech dedicating a cemetery made necessary by a tragic war. I wouldn’t tell anyone it was just a talk or ask why it should get special notice. It deserves special notice.
There is almost a magic in some speeches and talks.
Context matters too. So if a reader or listener is not a fan of the person delivering the words, or isn’t moved by the events, they may be less inclined to be moved by those words.

A leaders speech can only say so much.

No man is an island. Each man’s death diminishes the society.
There is no one formula. Some tragedies do affect the larger society.
If we are just a bunch of individuals or at most small family groups we are not a society. But it’s not possible to not be a society. That we live in a society is a given.

They only seem to care when something tragic happens. Then they act all personal like they were good friends with the victims friends and families and they care so much they losing sleep over it.

yeah...true...

and yet...tragedies and such remind us of the bonds we all have to one another, in society, as Bull of the Woods pointed out.

i think...the world has become so hyper-individualistic, we think of individuals, individuals in families, individuals (usually as -consumers- ), bouncing into each other...

time to reframe, refocus on society, as an organism.

No one will get along nor associate with everyone .

As long as everyone is peaceful about it. The
government, they just force everyone to do what they say otherwise they kidnap the public and throw them in a cage. Unless it's a fine so at the end of the year they can purchase new hardware.

The public is not my family. There is a lot of people in society I don't want to associate myself with or have anything to do with. Period.

This is my life and I will live my life and I don't have to associate anyone with me only who I choose.
Unless you live alone and totally self sufficient in a cabin and never see another soul you are part of the larger society. Your posts about the talk by a political figure that bothers you only could happen because they effected you. Because you are both part of the same society.

Yes I am part of society but not everyone in society is my friend or family and what other individuals do has nothing to do with me and I don't asociate with idiots. That's all I was saying.

But the way the system works is everyone gets put in the same basket so if one person does something stupid everyone else gets punished and/or loses there so called privileges. For example one idiot flipped out so every good responsible person in society who has a licence must hand in there semi autos. Why should everyone get punished because of one idiot. If one person is a criminal everyone gets labeled a potential criminal. It's not a good look for the government if they want to be trusted by the public. Don't accuse the people of all being potential criminals. It's discrimination.

A politician can practically commit murder, cough Hillary Clinton ,sexual assault ,bill her husband ,and is not punished .

Must be my asthma ,

When a politician does something wrong I don't accuse all politicians of being potential criminals who should lose there privlliges, or if one cop does something stupid with a gun I don't accuse all cops and they should all hand in there guns and stand down because of one idiot, if someone flips out in the name of a religion I don't accuse everyone in that religion of being potential criminals and become phobic of them.

Unlike the government that thinks the public could be being potential criminals because of one individual so must hand in there semi autos.(private property)

Dat boat life ,no need to dock ,just moor it as seen fit and. Canoe in ,or use john boat in to shore for supplies ,fish for food .no,guests ,no idiots

Btw I can take photos of people doing that in the marina ,they rent slips and live out there year round .no,car just use the bus or taxi ,lyft to where they need to go .

Why dont they give there awards to people who have actually achieved something. Person of the Year who achieves nothing and turns up days late for climate meeting should be headline. And it's only Time award so who really cares anyhow.

Obviously the President of the United States cares about the Time Person of the Year Award.
I like a young person getting all active in a cause. It’s better than getting an early start on being a lifelong couch potato.

Hey everyone, welcome to another edition of tonight's news. :) Due to the fact that it's getting late, I do believe that it'll be a copy and paste night tonight though. :yes
