Okay, your place works differently than my venue.

Okay, but city politicians are still elected by voters. City politicians want to keep the voters happy, so that they get re-elected.

I understand that ,but it's actually costing them,my.point is when I can't read a meter for months ,so dim ,they don't replace that as I'm guessing but replace a good one that was working within a month. I read one of those last week.it makes no sense .

You are right, of course. Meters that are unreadable should be replaced. Keeping the voters happy will always be the priority though.

Analog,I have pictures galore of reads I get prior to working to save time as I park near a few.the page wouldn't allow me to post them easily

Analog is job security for readers. I was cleaning my garage the other day, and the meter reader walked up my driveway. We said hello to each other, and he read the meter. No other way to get the reading.

We have digital meters that aren't smart meters.federal mandate because of hurricanes these all must become smart.why have men running around to find a power outage when the meter tells you exactly where the power is out,and when.if one block shoes out they can see the cause faster and know the problem as they have maps of lines ,and they also will see outages on those .ie if my xfrmr blows ,meters ping, telling fpl that they are out fpl knows it'd only them and can exactly locate the problem and repair.

Yes, that's a good point. In my venue, I have to call the power company robot to report an outage. Then their robot calls back when their repair guys input into the computer that they fixed it, and asks if the power is restored to make sure everything is indeed okay now. A digital meter would automate this process. It would probably also automate readings, since that is how the other utilities in my venue are handled.

Not all meters are smart meters.we have noNE were I work.people cam steal power by installing dial meters, analog, with smart meters they can't as it tells in you .
