Is “Easter” in the original Scriptures?

There is no direct link. I simply hold it as suspect. This is part of an ongoing discussion on how a collection of things associated with Easter - from Easter eggs to rabbits to pagan goddesses, etc. - lend themselves more to paganism than Christianity.
OK thanks for clarifying.

I would recommend your local Orthodox liturgy. 100% unchanged tradition dating back to the Early Church.
I disagree. The Byzantine rite underwent centuries of development before it stabilized into the form it now has. Perhaps we can have a thread on liturgical history.

Okay. But no one is worshipping rabbits and eggs like is apparently going in Protestant churches

As to the egg thing, I know of no group that uses it in the actual service.
However, an egg IS used in the Passover seder to commemorate one of the Temple sacrifices.

No protestant admits to worshipping rabbits or eggs, the same as known pagans refuse to admit to worshipping idols or mary.

Can any protestant be quoted admitting that they worship eggs or rabbits ?
Many former cthics and former priests admitted they worshiped idols and participated in abominations.
I can't speak for Catholics but my understanding is they don't 'worship' idols

what's wrong with worshiping Mary?

While the bible often encourages us to worship God, nowhere are we told to worship Mary. There are no examples of Christians worshiping Mary in the bible.

No Christians WORSHIP Mary. They VENERATE her. It doesn't say anything about using the internet to debate strangers in the Bible, yet here you are.

It is not needed for someone to speak for them, nor is that understanding helpful.
For eye-opening (for those seeking truth and honesty) see years fifty in the roman group by chiniquoy. It is totally dismissed by those serving the enemy or the world or the flesh. It is very difficult to read, the horrors and deceptions clearly and vividly and first hand.... how you and others may have been on purpose tricked.

Chiniquy's notion that the Vatican was behind the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln is just silly. But since you bring him up, what did Chiniquy say about Easter?

Who has 'tricked' me?

I wasn't accusing anybody of worshipping Mary. I was answering a poster who had asked, "What's wrong with worshipping Mary?"

I'm not questioning anastasis. I'm questioning the use of the egg to commemorate it.
Colored Easter eggs are not documented in England prior to the year 1290 as far as I can find. That is too late for them to be a pagan survival in western Europe. Medievalists derive the Easter egg custom from Lenten fasting regulations. Anyhow I see no harm in the Easter egg custom as long as they are not part of the Easter liturgy.

Christian festivals also replace those of the jews and christians cannot participate in jewish feasts and fasts without sin
False. St. Paul explicitly states that Christians may celebrate sabbaths, new moons, and annual festivals. St. Paul criticized the Galatians for depending on the law for salvation (Gal. 4.10). But he left Christians free to celebrate festivals if they desired to, if they were not depending on them for salvation (Rom. 14.5-6).

there is a small t tradition (not large t tradition (teaching) that is "thee faith"

when Christ was carrying the cross Simon of Cyreene had a basket of eggs he left to help our savior and when he returned they were changed into many colors!

for what it's worth

all jewish or feasts of the mosaic covenant ( all tribes not only judah) pointed to the coming of Christ to continue them is to declare "Christ has not come" and that's anti-christ according to scripture!

1 John 4:3
And every spirit that confesseth notthat Jesus Christ is come in the fleshis not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in theworld.

2 John 1:7
For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.
