here's answers from church of christ (christian, NOT mormon), and from lds (mormons, NOT christian)>>>>

" The Mormon church was called the “Church of Christ” very early in its history, but they soon changed the name to the “Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints”. While there may be a very few Mormon churches that still use the name "Church of Christ", this would be an exception to the norm and it is usually associated with a group in the Missouri area instead of the LDS church out of Utah. These Mormon churches are sometimes called "Church of Christ - Mormon". (They usually use the word "Mormon" in their name.)
Those who simply call themselves the “Church of Christ” today, are not associated with the Mormon church and never have been. The Church of Christ is not the same church as the Mormons!
I am a member of the Church of Christ, and we do not believe the Book of Mormon, nor do any of the other churches of Christ that I have ever visited.
We believe the Bible is the word of God, and we need nothing else! The Bible is useful for doctrine, reproof, correction, and instruction. Using it in these ways, the man of God can be thoroughly furnished with everything needed to follow God! (2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:3) "

Do you believe in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, which is also called receiving the Holy Spirit?

Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?

Without the Holy Spirit, you yourself can not be led and guided into all truth.

I'll go along with you if you can recall anywhere in the NT when the church sang and played on instruments of music.
I'm interested Webb, does Church of Christ speak in tongues in their services?
Do they prophesy?
Do women remain silent in the services?

However, the bible does not produce faith.

Without faith it is impossible to please God.

Jesus said it this way -

You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me. 40 But you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life. John 5:39-40

Faith is produced when God speaks to us.

A living relationship with God leads to a life of faith, a life that pleases God.

Reading the scriptures, without a living relationship with God, (pharisee's), is eating from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

You should read Rom.1:17: "faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God."

No to the first two questions. Yes to the third, however all are commanded to sing, Eph.5:19, Col.3:16.

Before labeling them as a cult, how about actually looking at the official doctrine of the CoC, instead of going from comments a couple of members.
free, stovebolts is a member and an elder in his local church of Christ. man the conservations we have had about their doctrines. I don't see them as a cult. a bit extreme in some areas but then again some could say that about my church. my wifes aunt died a saint in the lord and attended the church of Christ here. her pastor preached her funeral.

When God specified His list, His boundary, he did not give other instructions to man prior to giving His list, the Bible.

In enlarging on the "ten commandments" what Jesus said was and is in the scripture, is it not? BTW, only 9 of the 10 commandment are carried over from the Old into the New Covenant.

I like your signature, you might want to apply it here. I perceive you may have been in the Navy. I was in the Marine Corps, under the Navy. We Marines understood orders as did the Navy. Lord Nelson of the British Navy also said to his men in battle: "keep on pounding men and we shall see who shall pound the longest."

Rom.16:16

TO DWELL DEEP IN SCRIPTURE IS TO CEASE BEING CATHOLIC, PROTESTANT OR JEW -- Webb
You seem to be missing my point. I have mentioned that it is all in the bible, and that Jesus expounded on the meaning of the Ten Commandments. Also, all of the commandments carried over to the New Covenant, nothing was abolished, replaced, or done away with. Jesus just clarified their meaning.

No the bible does not include a description of a worship service of any of the early churches. Did God really need to? As long as everything in the worship service points to praising God, then there is no problem, including using instruments to accompany songs.

Getting back to your analogy, you still have not indicated if the mother provided additional instructions or just handed her son a list and said "go to the store." If there was some additional expectations they should be mentioned.

You should read Rom.1:17: "faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God."

Yes Brother, that is the exact scripture I was referring to.

Faith comes by hearing God brother not reading scripture.

By faith Noah, being divinely warned of things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark for the saving of his household, by which he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith. Hebrews 11:7

Please list the scriptures that provided the faith for Noah to move with godly fear...

You should read Rom.1:17: "faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God."

By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going. Hebrews 11:8

Please show us which scriptures that Abraham read, that gave Him faith to leave his home and go out not knowing where he was going.

You should read Rom.1:17: "faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God."

By faith Moses, when he became of age, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter, 25 choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin, Hebrews 11:24-25

Please show us the scripture that Moses read that gave him faith to forsake the riches and presitige of Egypt?

What oral tradition?

God spoke to Noah brother and told him to build an Ark.

Yeah true. The Oral tradition i'm talking about is the Word of God passed down from Adam. Noah was about 120 when Adam died is that right ?

his dad taught him. but we digress this if we want to go into a targum vs oral passing of genesis. we really don't know.

I'm guessing Noah learned about the creation and other things that happened before his time from his ancestors?

orally, the jewish mishna is a tradition based on this argument. the implication is that abram was to teach the commandments of god to his sons.

God spoke to Noah hence the phrase DIVINELY warned!

Faith come by hearing God speak to you.

Not by scripture!

Certainly not by by some "oral tradition"!

God speaking to you, or God speaking through a vessel He Himself sends with a message!

Yahweh spoke to Noah audibly or directly with words. Has Yahweh spoken to you in this way ?
