Is it Wrong to Think About Hell All the Time?

Thank you. So easy to find information nowadays huh?

Yes it is easy to find info on matters/issues esp. online
https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew+11:25-30&version=KJV

25 At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes.

26 Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in thy sight.

27 All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.

28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

I'm not really following this thread that closely, so what is your argument is about this?
You can see it if you review the thread. My point was that people often say things that aren't supported by scripture, and we should always check the scriptures.

Kathi said "People send themselves to hell because they made a choice to not believe in Jesus Christ."
I asked to see the Bible reference for this, because I didn't believe it was in the Bible.
Kathi posted three verses that did not say "People send themselves to hell because they made a choice to not believe in Jesus Christ."
I said, "you can see for yourself that those verses do not say 'People send themselves to hell because they made a choice to not believe in Jesus Christ.'"

Why do you think people go to hell?

Is it permissible to grab a member and snark on another member?

The Bible does say this:

"They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved." (2 Thessalonians 2:10 NIV)

I'm wondering with Kathi what you say is why people go to hell.

John 3:3 3 Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

Matthew 25:46 46 And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

2 Thessalonians 1:8-9 in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power

That can not be any clear to me.I think I have said this before but I will repeat it:
A man is bitten by a poisonous snake. The emergency crew arrives and wants to take him to the hospital. The man refuses. Is it the hospitals fault that the man died?

Why do you think people go to hell?
What do you mean by "hell"? I believe that whoever believes in Jesus Christ will not perish but will have eternal life. (John 3:16)
I believe that whoever rejects Jesus Christ will perish and will not have eternal life. (John 3:16, restated as a negative)
Concerning hell, I believe what Jesus Christ said about it. "Fear the one who is able to destroy both body and soul in Gehenna".
There is no reason to believe that those who reject Jesus Christ will not be destroyed just as Jesus said in Matthew 10:28.

This is not your description of Hell. The man perishes, just as I believe. Here is what you need to defend:
A man is bitten by a poisonous snake. The emergency crew arrives and wants to take him to the hospital. The man refuses. They take him anyway. They heal him completely. Then they torment him for the rest of his life. Is it the hospital's fault that they tormented the man for the rest of his life?

When did you do this Tim.. literally?

tob
Hello TOB,
I am not the one who said that we have to take everything in the Bible literally. I believe that Jesus Christ was speaking metaphorically when He said "he who eats my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me".

People who say that we must take everything in the Bible literally don't really do it themselves. Take this literally. "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."

I was recapping the discussion because someone asked me to. I'm helpful that way.

I believe that "They PERISH because they refused to love the truth and so be saved". This does NOT say "They will be tortured alive forever in hell because they refused to love the truth and so escape the eternal torturer."

How did you solve this problem?
I haven't been able too. I know rationally I can't trust my faith in Jesus if it's based on the fear of hell. But without the fear of hell would I feel compelled to have faith?

(It's a catch 22)

What would happen if your fear of hell were removed? If you became convinced that the Bible does not say that some people go to hell when they die where they will be tormented alive for all eternity? I believe that those who have faith in Jesus Christ will inherit eternal life from him, and those who do not will perish. (Instead of them going to hell to be tortured forever.)
John 3:16

That is not the point Kathi is arguing. She made a statement about why people are condemned and you said that was not in the Bible.
