Now then, what of the secret handshakes and signs fraternities like the masons use in order to help each other in public life? How does that serve our Lord Jesus Christ? If it was done on a level like statesmen in order to keep Christ's enemies confused, I can understand some of that. But I've seen evidence of mason membership protecting and advancing people in jobs, once I found out they were masons. I've seen people that were actually more qualified for a job get passed over in order to give the job to a mason. That in itself shows a secret working in public life that should not exist.

What's more dangerous, is that kind working can exist outside the bounds of checks and balances created in order to fill high level positions in society, and in governments. Thus the real reason for such fraternities to exist is for political purposes. And such movements would not be seen as harmless unless it also provided an outward cloak to hide itself. That outward cloak involves all the good works that masons are involved in. Who would be against the good works the lower level membership does? But at some point there is a parting line between the lower level masons and the higher degree masons, and that's where the possible dangers of such a movement can exist.

I have some relatives that are high ranking Masons in government jobs, they use their positions to help other Masons obtain government jobs. It seems that they are holding the keys to the important doors. Naturally they would call in networking. Uh... right. :bigfrown

I'm reading enough 18th century literature at the moment, friend. I'm sure his book is quite interesting, but I, as a rule, ignore conspiracy theories.

You should read the book by 33rd degree mason Albert Pike who wrote the dogmas of the Freemasons.

On the first page of his book he credits Lucifer as the bringer of light.

The fact is past the 30 degrees it does become Luciferian. Most is a low position are kept in the dark.

The truth is that the lower degrees are not told a number of things, because there is no need for them to know.
